It would seem that any card that gives a P/T bonus or other creature only abilities like vigilance will say "---- creature" instead of just the creature type. Notice how in the Boneknitter example, it just says "target zombie", this is because any permanents can regenerate, and not just creature permanents.
Tribal cards are going to be quite interesting, I'm sure! I am really excited to see how wizards will develop them!
What I would like to know is are they going to have an actual list of all the cards they've changed any time soon?? It was hard enough just going through my MWS database for all the cards with shroud, reach, lifelink, etc., and it looks now like I'll have to go through a LOT more.
About any "subpar" mechanics or cards: Context is king.
If I make a templating or grammar error, let me know.
The franchise MtG most resembles is Battlestar Galactica. Why? Its players exist in, at most, a dozen different models at any given point in time, with perhaps up to 3% variation, 5% if you're lucky.
I'm sure it would have worked under the pervious card ruling anyway. Amrou Seekers "Search your library for a Rebel card". Bound in Silence is still a Rebel card.
Note that templating has changed. Before Future Sight, "permanent card" would have made no sense.
Now, "permanent [something]" means "a [something] that is artifact, creature, enchantment, or land."
It is because templating has changed that this errats has occurred.
Notice that, strangely, the functionality of cards has changed. It doesn't make a difference except for Rebels, but this is a very, very strange errata. It's definitely *not* preserving original intent.
Notice, Echo and others, that 'Tribal' is not what is now called a "permanent type". So Amrou Scout doesn't need to say "permanent". It can get anything that is Rebel. Goblin Wizard can only put Goblin creatures, Goblin artifacts, Goblin enchantments, and Goblin lands into play.

It's interesting the direction they took with this. I personally would have preferred Tribal as a permanent OR spell type. You could actually do an interesting errata with spiritcraft; make it read "Whenever a player plays a Spirit spell, do X" and have arcane spells be Tribal Sorcery-Spirit or something. This would sort of help Kamigawa "mesh" into other type sets. For example, in the upcoming tribal block, they could have an effect that read, "Choose a tribal type, then choose a second tribal type. If a spell of the first chosen type would be played, instead it is the second chosen type.". Meaning you could transform a "Tribal Instant-Goblin" into a "Tribal Instant-Spirit" or something.
On second thought, the very fact that it would somehow involve Kamigawa makes me think it's a bad idea.
He used to say "Goblin card" put now it says "Goblin permanent". Hmm...
Compare these two, however: http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?&id=39594 and http://ww2.wizards.com/gatherer/CardDetails.aspx?&id=39547

I wonder if some cards will be errata-ed into tribal cards?
Bored? Watch this.
