So they invite you to the championship, but what exactly is the "invite"? Is it all expense paid 2 way plane ticket, or just that, an invite and you have to pay for the trip yourself?

Unlike the pt, the scholarship invite is really more of a slot than an acutal invite. The players are responsible for getting themselves to the tournament. This differs from a pt, in the sense that it's a lot harder to get to geneva from japan than i is to get to maryland from california.
Oh, well that doesn't make much sense :/. You're providing scholarships to pay for people's tuitions but you force them to shell out a thousand dollars for a plane ticket?

You don't have to go to the championship if you don't want to. I am also sure you can track down some sponsorship money to pay for the trip, especially if you tell people its for a tournament that can get you as much as $10,000 in scholarship money.

A thousand? I just looked it up: You can get a round trip ticket from LA to Baltimore for $283. Round trip from New York is as low as $114.
I'd be interested to know more specifically how to attain sponsorships Mkipps, and also where you found the results for ticket prices bmattox. I live in Manitoba, Canada if that helps. Appreciate it a lot guys, I would really like to attend the championships but it's just looking slightly out of reach at the moment.
