what do you guys think is the cheapest place to buy booster boxes on the 'net?? i'm just getting back into magic after a four year lapse and i'd really like to get a box each of the ravnica block and a box of time spiral, but i don't wanna pay the $100 price tag that comes along w/ them at my local shop. what do you recommend?

Eww. Sounds like how my friend bought a Betrayers box awhile ago and he got really ripped for all the crap cards he got. (Of course the box wasn't tampered with, just his luck I guess).
Wow, that's nuts. Internet is the way to go I guess.
If you don't mind the shipping...Not Being in the US kinda makes the Internet a bad place for buying(unless of course, the offer free shipping to anywhere). Booster Boxes here run around $80-$90 a box, since there's only one official retailer here.
Unless you're going to draft out the booster packs, you're much better off ordering singles.
buying singles can get very very expensive. especially when most of the stuff i need are rares. buying boxes allows me to trade or sell the stuff i don't need to get the stuff i do need.
i've checked ebay and a few places online and the cheapest i can find them are around 75 to 80 bucks. still a bit pricey. i was hoping someone knew of a good spot online to get them for around 65-70.

Who is selling them for 75?
When I last played in the late '90s I mailordered boosters from a woman that ran a hobby/collectible shop. It might have been a sports card shop but I remember that Magic wasn't the focus of her business. Her prices on boosters were the best, I bought boxes of Urza block for $60-something plus shipping, which was the cheapest I could find at the time. I can't remember how I found her shop (another player online must have told me about it, maybe on the Dojo or usenet), but she didn't have a website, just email. I *think* her name started with an N and her business name had her name in it, like "N...'s Collectibles." (Her name might have started with another letter.) I got the impression she was an older woman but that might have been her name, something older sounding like Nana. I know this is a longshot, but does anyone know who I'm talking about?
Her prices have probably gone up, so if she's still in business she might be charging in the $70-$79 range.

You Americans complain about prices in the $100-110-area... Here in Norway, Booster Boxes sell are sold for about $160-180 in most stores... Yes, new sets. So when I buy boxes, I order them from the US. Even when shipping is included, it's a lot cheaper.
The best places to get Boxes would be StarCityGames (although we internationals can't buy sealed stuff from them :(), or eBay. Prices are $80-90 shipped.
what about a relatively cheap place for japanese boxes? ones I can order to the US. I started a thread but no one responded so might as well try in here. lol.
Its hard to find boxes for less than 80 anymore, I know that many distriburtors don't even sell boxes for less than 70, and although I don't know what wizards charges direct, its probably close to that for premier stores.
Price went up just recently, so boxes of the newest expansion have gone from avg $75-80 US to about $79-85 at the cheapest, largest online warehouse stores.
If you and your friends split the cost on a case (6 booster boxes), the price per box goes down, but you have to find reliable friends, or you could end up forking out $500 for the case.
Foreign boxes and sealed product is increasingly hard to find. In Onslaught, Mirrodin, and Kami blocks, it was commonplace for Premier stores to receive a box of Japanese-language product to boost sales and/or hold special Foreign drafts. Outside of that, foreign language sealed product has become much harder to find in the US due to trade agreements. In Rav block, this promo box was changed to Russian. In TS block I am not aware of any Foreign Language Promo Sealed Product going around anywhere. As a result, Japanese boxes are exceedingly hard to get outside of Japan, unless you happen to be a distributor with connections there.
A few Chinese sealed products have been listed on ebay, but shipping is generally very high and you may end up waiting about a month for delivery. There are a couple distributors out of Beijing who are conscientious, affordable, and highly service-oriented, but global delivery is still a problem and much can happen to your box between China and your door, even after it leaves the distributors hands.
You can find anything on eBay, if you look hard enough. If you keep looking, you can find VERY cheap boxes. I saw a couple of boxes around the $70 range w/shipping on eBay a while ago.
The price for boosters did just go up. As far as I know, the cheapest that stores are able to get boosters for is 1/2 of the MSRP, which is 3.99 a pack now.
Doing the math there (36*3.99)/2, the cheapest that stores are able to get boxes for is about $72.
So.. that should give you an idea of what you could expect to pay for a box at its cheapest hopefully.
Personally, I sell my extra boxes for $60 to a local store owner. It's a great deal for him, and saves me the hassle of eBay But... I didn't have to pay for them to begin with

The thing about ebay is that you might get tampered boxes, which is a definite no-no. A friend of mine already got ripped around two times on boxes. I think sites like starcitygames.com are much safer.

No other links for good deals?
