It'd be lots of fun to play in multiplayer. You can wipe the entire game clean and they just can't touch you. You can start the whole thing yourself if you have something like Battlefield Forge to get the ball rolling.
Pariah works just as well as Pariah's Shield, so if you were building a dedicated combo deck, you could use that too.
I was wondering if I had pariah's shield attached to a creature and I paid life for mystic forge or aetherflux Reservoir would that be redirected to the creature

Damage and loss of life are two different things. Damage to a player can cause loss of life, but that's not always the case (e.g. infect). And likewise, loss of life does not mean, that the player has been dealt damage. Loss of life can come about in a variety of ways without damage, like setting the life total to a lower number, exchanging life totals, a spell or ability specifically causing loss of life, and paying life.
So in your scenario, since no damage is being dealt, no redirection occurs, there's nothing to redirect.
