I dont get any sense of guilt at all when I cheat. Sometimes in non-sanctioned tournaments, I might switch in a card or 2 in my SB for a particular match. I mostly keep my SB in my bag so it's possible to get away with it.

Another Example why we need to be stricter then We want to at a tournament cause people like this one doesn't care and screaws the rest of us who actually put in hard work.
Really you people need to grow the "heck"(goddess I hate To censor myself now) up and play the damn game correctly. Your cheating is what drives away anyone new that has potencial.
The most I'll ever cheat is shuffling a card near the top of my deck if I see it on the bottom when cutting, but that's only with my friends at lunch. I run dragons, and they all run either tooth(vintage tooth, no less) or elves or goblins, so I think I deserve a frickin' break...
The only time I ever got in trouble in a sanctioned tourney(because it wasn't cheating) was forgetting to put Kami of False Hope on my decklist, so I had 59 cards registered...I have never intentionally cheated in a tourney, sanctioned or otherwise.

Don't make excuses, make a better deck. If your deck isn't good enough to beat theirs just because they have much better cards, find someone else to play.
i used to cheat and then i stood back and looked at what i was getting out of it i wasn't having fun because i was constantly checking 2 see if they noticed my cheating and on the whole i was a worse magic player because i didn't have any really long and arduous games
P.S. the only tournaments i ever play in are drafts + sealed
I've never cheated at an official tournament or anything else before, but I accidently helped this other kid cheat once at a sealed FNM tournament, I wasn't completely sure of the rules and I didn't do well in groups of people and this kid comes up to me and starts asking me if I have any good Soulshift cards to make his soulshift deck better, I didn't know for sure I wasn't supposed to give anyone any of my cards or that it was considered cheating I felt weird and just gave him one card and told him it was all I had, I found out later it was cheating but nothing (fortunately) came of it, I was just new to the FNM scene and any group of people (20 or more) used to make me feel really selfconscious and I just sort of panicked. That's the only time I ever cheated.(unintetionally)
Sidenote: I played the kid second round and knocked him out of the tourney anyways (shrug)
I heard about a kid who was cheating in a tournament. the guys he played in rounds 1-4 met him in the parking lot after the tourney and "convinced" him to change his ways. They also divvy'd up his winnings (half a box) while he lay there crying. (I love vigilante justice.)
the most i've ever cheated was when i was just starting with my friends (casual obviously) i would always put my armegedon and wrath of god on top of my deack whenever i searched for land because we didn't shuffle afterwards, and they just though i was going through all of my cards.
this was when i was 7. i haven't cheated since.
i got a game loss in my PTQ for an illegal decklist (59 cards, missing a forest)
I got a match loss in a block FNM for running 5 copies of ghostly prison (4 MD one SB) the only reason i didn't get kicked out is because everyone at my shop knows i'm a good guy and didn't do it on purpose to cheat
my little brother (13yo) drafts with me and my friends all the time since we only have 5 of us and like correct pods, and sometimes he puts two cards in a pack down, and so lately we've had to keep an eye on him and after we're done we all count eachother's stacks and make sure there are exactly 45. this messes up the table so much with all of the off-signalling he gives as well as the fact that he's blatantly rigging it in his favor.
luckily he always loses all 3 rounds because he sucks, then we backdraft the rares, and whoever gets last gets complete crap.

I'm always the one remembering things in my opponent's favor. I look over the cards before a PR, and so I'm the one that knows how they work.
Or that they actually have 12 life over 10.
That sort of thing.
The only thing I've done that's remotely close to cheating is, in the group games I used to play in, we'd always mulligan 7 cards, no matter what. Mostly because starting the game with 6 cards and 5 opponents put the person at a majopr disadvantage.
Cheating is simply ridiculous in any tourney game. It blows my mind. I'm at a loss for words for those people. It can never be justified.
Of course in the friendly casual games you play with friends, cheating isn't too bad unless you do it in excess. We usually "cheat", which is us breaking the rules with everyone else being okay with it. From time to time we'll discover some true cheat action going on.
Cheaters suck. If you're so hardcore for Magic that you CHEAT to win tournies.....for the love of all that is good in this world.....get a life, a girlfriend, and a new identity, cause no one likes you except yourself.

Damn that is harsh. Even the Church doesn't allow that big a punishment for such a small crime. Maybe the people who gave bannings are satanists or some other religion that givews such big punishments to such small crimes.
I have never cheated before, and never have I been cheated. Tips:
- Read Dr. Tom's winning article on how to avoid getting cheated.
- UNDERSTAND WHAT CARDS DO.
- STAY VIGILANT.
THat is all.
