19 Lands may seem odd at first glance but with the added lands from the artifact spells Darksteel Ingot and Armillary Sphere there are a total of 28 lands in the deck, (not including any recursion from the Sanctum Gargoyles).
I've been on a 10+ game winning streak with this deck. When I put this deck together it really was an excuse to see if Bear's Companion is as much of a blowout in DOTP as it was in Khans of Tarkir limited. After some tweaking I find that it is still pretty powerful, but it really is outclassed by Genesis Hydra, however 2 bear's companions are the next best thing to a play set of the hydras.
It has constantly surprised me how versatile this deck is against pretty much everything. I can go big or I can go wide all thanks to Bident of Thassa, Chasm Skulker and Mycoloth. The Bident feels like it was meant to be played in green when I use it. It is effectively a recurring Prey Upon since just about everything dies to my biggest creatures and forcing the opponent to attack lets me pick off their biggest threats, not to mention it refills my hand the next turn and can pump Chasm Skulker enormously.
Cloudfin Raptor works really well in this deck. I can usually pump him on my second turn with a Young Wolf or Elvish Visionary. Bear's Companion as well as the Genesis Hydra will more often than not dump 2 +1/+1 counters on the raptor (so will Young Wolf if his undying ability is triggered).
The Single Species Gorger is really helpful getting through a stalled board because I can bounce and recast Elvish Visionary for draw or constantly recast giant Genesis Hydras to bring out everything in my library. The rest of the one-of creatures pretty much amounts to good-stuff deck methodology, Stormbreath Dragon, Vengevine, Craterhoof Behemoth, and Kozilek, Butcher of Truth are cards that apply tremendous pressure on the opponent and need to be answered or the odds have just swung heavily in my favor. Most of the time Kozilek is dead in my hand, but it is too valuable in the control match-ups to take out of the deck. Even if they counter it, I still get to draw four cards (and I even once hilariously drew Kozilek again because the game stacked the graveyard trigger so the card was shuffled back into my library before I drew the four cards).
The Dissolves serve as a catch-all answer to anything that might ruin my board state late game or it could prevent my opponent from fogging when we both are low on life and I'm swinging with everything. I prefer it over negate because it can stop my opponent from casting a Baneslayer Angel or anything else with lifelink.
I still have no clue how I can get away playing with 22 land, but I kept getting flooded at 24 and for some reason 22 just works. I think I got mana screwed once in all of my playtests.
