DoTP 2015 has had a controversial start. The Steam forums are filled with hatred, justified or not. What has elicited such a response? Are there good things to say about it?
The Good
1. Full deckbuilding is now a part of the series. It's a feature many asked for.
2. The deckbuilder is easy to navigate and it's easy to create decks
3. The game looks far better than MTGO, who's interface is why a lot of players won't play it.
4. The storyline is pretty good.
5. The cards are easy for new players to understand.
The Bad
1. The premium boosters are priced too high. 50 cents a booster would have been fair. $1 not so bad but $2 is a bit much. Have to buy 14 to get them all, or $28 total
2. The game is quickly growing stale and need DLC soon
3. Some color combinations cannot make it through the campaign without a lot of losing. Black and Green is one.
4. There are some features that need fixing and have yet to be addressed.
The Ugly
1. No 2hg prompted a justified outrage at the game's release. In paper, 2hg is a niche, but in DoTP, it's a staple. It's a challenging format to master and this attracts players to it. WoTC and Stainless failed to research this and went with their figures from the paper version. Sorry, 2hg has become the reason the DoTP series remains playable after the 1 on 1 wears off and often eclipses it's popularity.
2. No other type of format. Players are wanting highlander, commander and many other modes. We get 4ffa, a feature from the other series that's usually a ghost town as it's hard to find players for it.
3. The confusing nature of what you bought on Steam. There were 3 bundles and players assumed buying the $35 version got them the premium packs to go with it. No such luck. They became convinced the game is a money sink as other types of games are becoming. This is outraging a large segment of the gamer population and rightfully so.
4. The developers and pitchmen, such as Wizards Sean, have failed to live up to their jobs. Sean pops into a forum, says something about what's coming, then disappears for a large chunk of time. Then nothing happens. Broken promises do not a happy population make.
5. The "pay to play" with the premium boosters ticked off a lot of players. $24 extra dollars for this just sounded like a "cash in" on the game's popularity.
There you have it. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. If Stainless/WoTC continues this, we can call this thread: For a Few Dollars More. and then the game will become "Death Rides a Horse".

Sympathy for the guilty is treason to the innocent.
We're almost a month past when we expected the expansion for this. Worse, the only news we've had is a vague "It'll be released with the Xbox1 version"...what?
This isn't a good model for customer support except maybe in Bizarro World. The Game needs this expansion badly as more and more people just shrug, chalk it all up to lost money and move to other games. That's what is happening with the casuals.
The Hard core are also moving away and are ticked off. Some of us, like myself, are sticking around, but our patience is wearing out.

I have to agree with most of these complaints. I just need to add one more. When I first played in the Ravnica part of the campaign I saw a gate deck and got pumped only to realize players cannot even attain mazes end. There are many cards you cannot get that the AI uses.
