PreS: oops, i posted this in the wrong place. could a mod move it to the cockatrice subforum, please? thanks.

(none of the sticky threads seem to be a "tutorial for newbies", so maybe some kind mtgs user can point me in the right direction).
now that mtgo is literally unplayable for me, because i use a netbook with 1024x800 max screen resolution, i'm thinking of trying out Cockatrice again.
last time i installed it, i found that the screen's layout was not workable for me on my netbook. the reason v3 worked so well for me is because of the generous upper-left corner "magnified card view" that would instantly show a big version of any card that my mouse was over. i was /very/ dependent on this feature, using it pretty much everytime i was about to interact with a card (that is, my memory is so bad that i'd need to read-again every card before interacting with it).
as i remember the last time i installed Cockatrice, its mana left-side window took up a lot of space, and on the right-side, the "magnified card view" on the right side was too small for me to read the card. i remember wishing that i could have the layout changed to be more like v3 -- ie more suitable for the small netbook screen i have.
question: is it (easily) possible to modify the screen layout of Cockatrice, to make the "magnified card view" larger?
---------------
also, i'm a little intimidated at learning how to use Cockatrice, much less joining a real game. can someone point me to a tutorial about:
- downloading and installing Cockatrice
- learning to goldfish with Cockatrice
- learning to do Sealed or Drafts events with others on Cockatrice?
any help in this area will make my joining Cockatrice much less intimidating. thanks in advance!
The card window size can be resized by sliding the bar below it up or down. This will decrease the various boxes along that side accordingly.
One other thing you can do is you can click the middle mouse wheel over a card (in a game)and it will zoom in.

He raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
