Where is the BNG patch? I do not really want to re-install the whole program for it.
What's wrong with using an installer (MWS EasyInstall)?
It will set up everything perfectly so that you have the latest updates of ALL components of MWS, not just the database ...
Simply just download (40mb which should take no more than 2 minutes of your time) and press "next" until the process is complete (maximum 2 minutes) ...

Does it just automatically replace my current version of MWS with the new one? And does it erase things like the decks I have and such?

You do not need to uninstall the current version ... theoretically any deck or image is deleted ... but if you really think it's important to just make a copy of the decks folder ... proceed with the installation and check if something was lost. ..
If it was lost, let me know for this to be corrected and to return your backup (the decks folder) to the original folder ...
Otherwise you have just discovered an incredibly simple way to have all the features of MWS updated ALWAYS ... with incredibly easy steps without errors and guaranteed (MWS EasyInstall).
Why are you pushing this "EasyInstall" so hard when no one wants it?! I myself have added various data to the MWS I have installed, including custom cards I made for my personal circle of friends to play with. Your EasyInstall wipes out all of the custom cards and custom decks with no actually quick and easy way to preserve that information.
I doubt I'm alone when I say I want the old site back with the old links and the old ability to do our own damn updates!
1 - On the website (link below) there is a very simple way for you to download the database separately (Magic)...
2 - If you are adding custom in a master database you're doing it wrong data. Custom editions are:
a) be in a totally separate master database (if you want to work with master bases) . For these cases the EasyInstall also includes an executable (extra) that changes from one game to another in a simple and effective way ...
b ) is there a way to work with on MWS custom bases, maybe you should check this before you criticize
3 - We are not interested in requiring the use of MWS EasInstall , we are only quoting that for anyone who does not want to work with the installation and upgrade of MAGIC with each new edition ... the MWS EasyInstall totally fulfills the function that proposes (and this audience represents more than 80% of users MWS).
4 - The MWS EasyInstall a project is open , anyone can give ideas to improve it ... be friendly and explain what you need and we study a way to implement
5 - You clearly this is confusing what MWS EasyInstall (Project Site MTGBr) with what is MTG Salvation ... so try to understand that websites are no dependency between them and totally different ...
DONT USE EASY INSTALL BEFORE SAVING YOUR OLD DECKS!!!!!!
this ******* install just deleted everything!!!

theoretically any deck or image is deleted ... but if you really think it's important to just make a copy of the decks folder
HOW ****IN IGNORANT CAN YOU BE????? is it important to keep my own decks????
how stupid can you be posting a project that apparently you havent even tested yourself???
really a shame. you can blame me for not being polite but i am really pissed atm.
instead of being ignorant, try to be responsible.
Edit:
no one is seeing the txt file, they wanna force you to use easy install. just save all your decks before using it, it will delete EVERYTHING!!! those freakazoids havent even tested their fancy project, so they dont know. pathetic
i did use easy install and i lost everything. my whole day was allready horrible, so i thought helping a friend with his new t2 deck could help me calm down, but no... even worse.
BUT
playing with the new installation does work well. you need to get used to the new graphics, but overall it isnt a big change. they DID try to improve the updating process, and it worked more or less, like stated earlier: it will delete all your decks. I found some old decks on a stick, and the new database found most cards, except some splitcards and special editions.
my suggestion to you alex: pin a detailed installation guide on top of this topic, with all steps & tipps (including saving old decks!) and pro's & con's. and maybe even add the txt files for those who want them. providing it shows your goodwill and supports your effort of spreading the easyinstall
Re-reading this topic (looking for something else in the forum) I think I really expressed myself wrong, which caused a pretty big mess.
The installation package does NOT delete any deck file or file that was created by the user (pictures, other databases etc).
What it does (and that's a fact) is to exclude the DECKS PRE MOUNTED. In sequence it reinstalls the same decks. The package is for one simple reason, some users install these decks from other sites and they contain errors (in the files, the names of editions etc.). The same applies to the databases installed by him (they are excluded and recreated).
I repeat, NO deck or user file (other than the MWS itself) is excluded in the installation or uninstallation process.
Just to complement the package is WIDELY tested, however i recommend (just in case) to those who feel suspicious than just back up your files and prove for themselves that NOTHING is excluded.
On the other hand, using custom editions may make it in many different ways. The united I do not really recommend is to include the custom edits directly in the Magic database because if this occurs when you do the installation of the package will lose the added cards.
So the ideal in these cases very isolated, it is that the user must create a separate database, or even use the feature custom editions of MWS itself. Doing it ... these resources also will not be lost in the process.
Anyway, nobody is forced to use the installer, but much research time was spent on it so people simply (without even test it, ie for pure pre-concept) ignore it and assign defects that do not exist .
