So to me in standard for example it means like: Mono-Black, Mono-Blue, G/R Monsters, and maybe R/W devotion, or U/W control those are the most likely decks you're going to have to face right now A LOT, so If someone's actually trying to get some testing out of their room I'm not going to bother them if I'm practicing Grixis control, or even G/W Andrew Shrout (unless I ask them before hand if they mind if I test that). Some of it is about respect for what the other person is trying to accomplish with their time.
You might have developed a serious and terrifying Mono-G devotion deck (for example) but the guy asking for Tier 1 or Serious Decks only is gonna look at that and think "Omg, he's trolling me" and kick you, and to some extent he's not wrong.
I try to stay caviler about, generally when someone does the whole "Mull to 4" I'll say HEY!
"Draw to 6" because most of them quit at that point anyway, and they might be reasonable if I show compassion for mana screw, and also... because I need indulgence myself because a lot of the times I'm TESTING a deck to see if its worth putting together, beating up on a totally mana screwed opponent doesn't help me test. I'm glad for cockatrice personally, I think overall the people are like any other people reasonable and rational, yeah there are some rude ones out there for no reason, but... such is life.
I can see why someone would ask for competitive only to test a deck, but regardless of intention the correct way to handle the situation is not to insult the other player and kick them out. If someone asked me, I'd be happy to switch. Heck, I'm glad to stick around and whip out a netdeck for the most recent MonoU or B deck, no problem.
As for the latter, I can see why someone is going to get frustrated when they've had to Mull to 4, but let's be honest; That happens at tournaments as well, and they should probably learn not to tilt and give up the game when things don't go their way.
I was playing my home-brew red deck against a green devotion or R/G deck (I don't remember.)
I was attacking with a Legion Loyalist and two other creatures. Opponents board is clear. Flashes in a Boon Satyr. I sit there for a minute and finally ask: "... who is it blocking?" because opponent didn't point it to anything. Finally points to my Legion Loyalist. Tap a mountain and target Legion Loyalist and one of my other creatures with Coordinated Assault.
Opponent concedes and leaves. A few seconds later, they re-join, then leave again, realizing it was me again.
My story...
I'm playing UR Pyromancer combo last standard and bring in Ral Zarek from the board vs control (not the best sideboard card but still okay). Anyways this guy is too busy disasembling my combo peices to worry about little old Ral and lets him get 7 loyalty. I go ahead and ultimate and tell him I'm going to just roll a D20 for coinflips and call even as heads. **** says he understand and to go ahead, so I roll and get a 20. Pretty cool I critical hit or what ever, but then it when it gets crazy. I roll 2 more times both times I roll 20's. He starts accusing me of cheating. I tell him "I swear I'm not cheating it must of been a fluke. Let me show you". I roll 3 more dice. ALL 20'S. "**** has left the game". I'm the only one that can appreciate what just happened. I just had a 1 in 64,000,000 chance roll, A once in a lifetime roll that almost no other person has ever managed to roll in their days of gaming and I was the only one that could appreciate it. If only **** could have been able to see what he had just witnessed then he would have a story to tell his grandchildren. He could have told them "When I was X many years old and still in my prime playing MTG on one of them desktop computer we used to have, I once saw a player roll 6 nat 20's in a row and right there and then I knew that I had been touched by god. To this day I have never felt such a powerful and godly presence as I did that fateful day." But instead he called me a cheater and left the game untouched.(I don't blame him I would have accused me if cheating too. I would like to believe I'm one of the luckiest men alive but it was probably just a glitch :()

SAVE THAT GAME REPLY! QUICKLY, EXPORT IT TO YOUR PC! UPLOAD IT FOR ALL OF US TO SEE (or just me)!!!
It happened months ago. When I actually sat down and calculated the odds of 6 nat 20's in a row and realized how ridiculous it was I had already exited out. I didn't even know **** had replays until I saw this thread. If it auto saves then I could look through the replays and find it. I've probably played 20-50 games since but looking through 100 replays would be worth it to just to show people. Alot of my friends play D&D so I'm sure it would blow their minds.

Just a minute ago, I had a guy cast Traumatize on me leaving 1 mana open. I cast Syncopate for x=2, having one more land open myself.
He then says "Main phase, I can still play land for turn" and drops a land, tapping his two lands to pay for the 2-mana Syncopate. Then I mentally shrug and tap my remaining land to make Syncopate's X be 3.
Then he says "You already paid for it, you can't increase the X cost." So I tell him "you can't play lands at instant speed." And he goes "But I can at sorcery." So I ask, "You're saying that it's ok for you to play a land in response to my counterspell so that you have extra mana to counter my counter, but it's not ok for me to tap an extra land I already have to increase its cost?"
"Yep"
And that is why I make my own rooms - the kick feature is great.
Now that I know about the replay feature I have stories to tell
the first is just a back and forth between me and a player who claims to be a judge. So ***** has Underworld connections, a packrat, a nightveil specter and had just cast a gray merchant
*****: you lose 9
knto: oh right connections
knto: wait it's 8
*****: 3+3+1+2=9
knto: 3+2+1+2=8
*****: 9 ***** points a lot of arrows at stuff
knto: so 2+3+1+2?
*****: where do you get the second 2 from
3 from connectiosn
3 specter
knto: connections is the first and graymerchant the second
*****: 1 from pack rat
thats 7, now add two from merchant
knto: connections is 2 devotion
*****: thats 9 ***** sets counter life to 17 (-1).
*****: my bad
The whole exchange took about 3 min.
The second is funny because my turn 4 was so absurd. Magic Christmas land in action my friends.
T1:Forest, Elvish Mystic T2:Temple of Mystery, Gyre Sage T3: Island, Gyre Sage, Kiora's Follower T4: Nykthos, Polukranos, Monsterous X=5 with one mana to spare. I had 16 mana on turn 4.
It was against White Weenies and I pretty much wiped their board while I had 2 3/4 gyre sages and a 10/10 Polukranos. I followed up the next turn with an overloaded cyclonic rift and put them at 3. They were speechless. There was literally nothing they could have played, no card that they could have drawn that would have kept me from winning after my 4th turn. Not even the banisher priest he had in hand could have saved him.

This reminds me of a time we went to a casino (just me and a friend). Back then we played roulette. If you've never played roulette, one of the bets on the table you can make covers almost 33% of the table. There's 3 of them so if you bet on all 3 you basically break even (with the potential to loose on a 0,00) but if you bet on 2 your covering over 66% of the table. Now mathematically, if you bet on the same 2 bets (out of the 3) you have a very high likelihood you should get a win more often than a loss. Well my friend managed to loose 13 times in a row. 13!. Combine that with doubling his bet each loss made him walk away very unhappy LoL. Long story short..... these things rarely happen but they do.
Was playing a land destruction deck for fun while watching this weekends scg open. I noticed near the end of the game the guy had 4 cards in his graveyard, only 2 lands. I had 3 encroaching wastes in my GY (so at least 3 dead lands from him) so I checked the game log :
Woda puts Temple of Mystery from graveyard into his library at position 45.
Woda puts Breeding Pool from graveyard into his library at position 46.
Woda puts Steam Vents from graveyard into his library at position 47.
Woda puts Courser of Kruphix from graveyard on bottom of his library.
So I ask him about it :
[15:14] KOrr: so whats the point of cheating on cockatrice, and not destroying lands but instead putting them back into library
[15:15] Woda: wtf are you talking about
I flooded, tough luck against a silly destroyland deck

[15:20] Woda: even if that were true, position 45 is bottom of library, what would gain?
[15:21] KOrr: its cheating regardless
any shuffle affects keep you from losing land

It baffles me how people are always complaining about the shuffle function on Cockatrice. Do people not realize that's it's basically 100% random, and FAR better than any human could shuffle a deck?
It also makes zero difference whether or not you shuffle your deck once or 100 times. So it's always funny to me when people press ctrl+S like ten times thinking it'll further randomize their deck.

to be fair one of the hardest thing for a program to do is being 100% random.

Too funny to not post.
To be honest, that sounds much more like a misclick than cheating. He didn't have to be a jerk about it, but I'm guessing it wasn't intentional. Plus, you overreacted tremendously by even mentioning it. From the sound of his deck, the only card that could make him shuffle his library is Sylvan Primordial which would end the game against a Land Destruction deck regardless of him being subsequently more likely to draw lands.
Sounds to me like you were taking something that had literally a 0% chance of mattering in a game that doesn't matter in the first place far too seriously.
Same idea, different story: guy, three turns after the fact, tried to say I should get a loss because I didn't target anything of his with Ral Zarek's +1 when he was tapped out.

Did you come here for the sake of the Dharma? Or did you come here for the sake of a chair?
The other day when I was trying to test out a new deck with the new white/black god, I created a room on cockatrice called "playtesting jou". This one guy comes in and I think we play 2 or 3 games, can't remember. He beats me twice I say gg and he's all like, "LMAO OWNED NOOB" and then disappears off the server.
Maybe I'm just terrible at building decks because the deck I was play testing with was pretty dysfunctional. But isn't that kinda the point of playtesting???
I never realized Cockatrice was a haven for overly competitive players who clearly don't play for fun. Recently I've run into a number of people who go ballistic if you miss a trigger. For example, if you draw a miracle card, and undo your draw and reveal it, they think you're cheating or something. Obviously no one is going to go through the trouble of looking at the top card of their library every single turn of the game when you can undo the draw and get the exact same result. During a GP with money on the line things would be different, but Cockatrice is literally the most casual way you can play Magic on the internet.
The other night I was playing against ghostfire in a Lorwyn draft, who is generally a reliable and well mannered opponent. When I undid my draw to reveal a kinship effect, he got upset, kicked me from the game and the draft room, and when I asked him why he was taking a casual draft so seriously he just said he didn't want to argue. Well, I would have liked to actually play. Sorry I was taking a shortcut that saves time with the exact same outcome.

Tell him to run Bile Blight though, since its a 2 mana instant that nullifies that exact nut draw

"Yep"
And that is why I make my own rooms - the kick feature is great.
the first is just a back and forth between me and a player who claims to be a judge. So ***** has Underworld connections, a packrat, a nightveil specter and had just cast a gray merchant
*****: you lose 9
knto: oh right connections
knto: wait it's 8
*****: 3+3+1+2=9
knto: 3+2+1+2=8
*****: 9
***** points a lot of arrows at stuff
knto: so 2+3+1+2?
*****: where do you get the second 2 from
3 from connectiosn
3 specter
knto: connections is the first and graymerchant the second
*****: 1 from pack rat
thats 7, now add two from merchant
knto: connections is 2 devotion
*****: thats 9
***** sets counter life to 17 (-1).
I play a ramp deck for fcks sake
[15:16] KOrr: Woda puts Temple of Mystery from graveyard into his library at position 45.
Woda puts Breeding Pool from graveyard into his library at position 46.
Woda puts Steam Vents from graveyard into his library at position 47.
right there wher eyou were putting lands from GY into library
[15:16] Woda: thats when I scryed ********
[15:17] KOrr: no
it says FROM graveyard TO library
and those 3 were backto back
you put 3 in library at once
[15:17] Woda: I did not
[15:17] KOrr: I have the whole game log lol
[15:20] Woda: even if that were true, position 45 is bottom of library, what would gain?
[15:21] KOrr: its cheating regardless
any shuffle affects keep you from losing land
[15:21] Woda: you're paranoid and looking for answers in the wrong place, man
your deck sucks, that's why you lose
[15:22] KOrr: lol no
I noticed you had 4 cards in gy
2 lands, to my 3 encroaching wastes
which meant you were putting cards from GY to library
and if my deck sucks so bad, why did you feel the need to cheat?
[15:24] Woda: I DIDNT DAMMIT
[15:24] KOrr: lol I just pasted where you put cards into your library from graveyard
So of course theres tons of denial, and oh my deck is crap, etc, etc.
Too funny to not post.

I'm so glad first Jace hit a Bile Blight I could pass on, and that second Jace hit a Hero's Downfall. It made bluffing I didn't have a Bile Blight even easier. It's a shame he didn't stick around

It also makes zero difference whether or not you shuffle your deck once or 100 times. So it's always funny to me when people press ctrl+S like ten times thinking it'll further randomize their deck.

Pro.
to be fair one of the hardest thing for a program to do is being 100% random.
Are humans more random?
Maybe I'm just terrible at building decks because the deck I was play testing with was pretty dysfunctional. But isn't that kinda the point of playtesting???
The other night I was playing against ghostfire in a Lorwyn draft, who is generally a reliable and well mannered opponent. When I undid my draw to reveal a kinship effect, he got upset, kicked me from the game and the draft room, and when I asked him why he was taking a casual draft so seriously he just said he didn't want to argue. Well, I would have liked to actually play. Sorry I was taking a shortcut that saves time with the exact same outcome.
