Are you talking about the bounce lands like Selesnya Sanctuary? Because those were only uncommon in ModernMaster 2, and were previously commons a total of 5 reprints. Why would we need to keep one constraint between "return an untapped land" and "return a plain", instead of going for the simpler "return a land"?
If we redesign them, we have to do only one of the modification for now otherwise we are threading on eggshell giving almost the same power as the guildhalls at Common. (The guildhalls were at least uncommon.)
There are only two reasons the Ravnica Bounce Lands were uncommon in MM2.
First, they allow for easy splashing when all ten are present in limited (a problem our CM bounce lands don't share, since there are only five rather than ten and they don't fix colors.)
second, because Wotc are greedy bastards that essentially print money by selling cards with addictive ink. A newbie wouldn't know about buying singles or may stigmatize it. They might however buy these awesome packs that contain awesome stuff and cost $10 though.

The fact that there were 10 definitely pushed them up, but don't mistake the Bounce lands for being acceptable at common either. They still provide a lot of value, I wouldn't print the ravnica ones at common even without the full 10.

It was at that moment that I realized: I'm kinda just making these things up. We can just write the rules the way we want them to work. People will have fun, and people will get it.
Ravnica Bounce lands (in my experience at least) are played in every casual and edh deck they're in-color for. They might not have been chase cards on the level of Tarmogoyf but they still were (and are) sought after. They were sitting around a dollar piece for a bit and it wasn't until a couple of massive reprints in commanders sets and dual decks that they dropped down to where they are now.
In any case, I disagree with mono-colored bounce lands being unprintable at common. They do provide value, yes but then again is that a bad thing? If we want these to be sought after in limited, we should keep them as they are. If not we can go with the colorless/color duals that I suggested earlier.

We do not exactly have holes. The cards in the skeleton that currently have Trash can easily stay almost exactly the same, but with Salvage. (We might want to tweak the number of exiled cards between 2 and 3 though)
Garbage scavenger : 2/1 flying; Salvage - When ~ enters the battlefield, you may exile two cards from your graveyard. If you do, put a +1/+1 counter on ~. Choking smog : instant -3/-3; Salvage - You may exile two cards from your graveyard as you cast ~. if you do, that creature gets -5/-5 until end of turn instead. Ambushing spider : 1/4 reach; Salvage - You may cast ~ as though it had flash if you exile two cards from your graveyard (This is an additional cost.) Waste bear : 4/4; Salvage - Whenever ~ attacks, you may exile two cards from your graveyard. If you do, creatures you control gain trample until end of turn.
We could just do some straight ports, but I feel like finding a better identity for these cards would serve us well. Right now every single one of our cards would Salvage in a different way.
How do we feel about upgrading Karoos all the way to Ravnican standards? (i.e. ETB tapped, return any land to your hand).

On one hand this could be pretty interesting, given it would definitely see play and perhaps solve our awkward "second mana rock" problem.
On the other hand, a second mana rock would go a long way in helping components have a tappable non-creature artifact (in a way the land wont).

I always thought the Karoo played like Ravnica bounce lands, and as such, I was quite shocked when I realized they did not. I would much prefer the Ravnician template, ETB tapped, and return any land to your hand.
Flop are you suggesting that the colorless basic should be available in any number? Because that brings up some issues that were probably the reason OGW avoided it in the first place.
Also I can help you get the fonts (or even just give you a copy of my MSE2) if that's still being an issue for you. It's odd to me that it also seems to affect your mana symbols though...

Yes, my suggestion would be to have Manufactory be like Wastes, as a basic land with no basic land type you can run any number of in your deck. 1, it'd be flavorful with the set, since the land can be overrun with giant factories (and the artwork is perfect) and 2, it'd help with steam-powered costs and activated abilities. As a basic land, any basic fetcher for getting colors can help get it, and the best part is if we use a Panorama cycle for color fetching, the Panoramas can't fetch Manufactories.
Yeah if you could PM me a link to the fonts download I'd need or your version of MSE2 that'd be helpful. Not having Italics sucks.

You can take some liberties with Stonemight, that's an easy one to reflavor.
I would be pretty against having Wastes become a sixth basic in terms of "endless supply". It raises a lot of issues since that type of thing has never been done (including the last time we had wastes). Stuff like colorless or snow basics have always had to be draftable, which makes them a bit more interesting IMO. If you've got endless supply of colorless then it's no longer really a challenge to draft so much as it is just a decision. I would be more open to a new version of Wastes implemented as it was in OGW.

Alright, as we're nearing the completion of our first common draft, I decided to do a once-over and point out any issues I still see that should be "fixed" prior to doing some playtesting.
White
- Clock In is still in a weird spot. It's possible we want this to be a +1/+1 counters matter card instead of an artifact matters card?
- Thopter General still seems rather strong for an uncommon, plus we currently don't have a pair for it in Red which kind of makes it seem out of place. We might want to move all of our "artifact lords" to uncommon
Blue
- Complacent Crew probably needs to be a 3/3 or something? A 5 mana 4/4 flier is too strong for common when it's conditional attack clause is going to happen most of the time anyway
- Steam Draw is too close to Contemplate right now. We need another multi-C SP card.
Black
- Black has the most problems of all colors. It still has three empty slots.
- Choking Smog & Garbage Scavenger both need replacements with new Trash. Namely we need to figure out if they just want to be straight replacements or not
- Gremlin's Hunt still seems odd here
- Forceful Drain is still a weird card, and may want to switch to some mill related effect given Black's focus on Scavenge now
- Industrialization Process This is another card that might want to mill instead of getting something back. Black's looking to eat it's graveyard not necessarily recycle it.
- Lost in the Desert feels a little off color
Red
- Prophet's Spiker still feels too close to Prophet's Lizard
- Steam Stoke is just a real awkward card
- Steam Strike is too similar to the Black SP combat trick
- Terrorize this should maybe just drop down to being a normal Act of Treason given we want it to combo with Exploit
Green
- Ambushing Spider & Waste Bear both need an update, especially since I like ComicalFlop's suggestion to turn Rust Scarab into our spider slot
- Dawn Stag was a placeholder that can be replaced
Artifacts
- Pensive Talisman could be replaced with a mana rock that mills to synergize with Salvage

Because otherwise it quickly becomes confusing and can easily break some Components. (Look at the old Sol Battery, compare with and without Component improvement, there's a huge difference.)
The most confusing situation of all: Two Components are attached to each other.
Less Confusing but worst on board state: An artifact creature has 2 components attached and one of them as 2 components attached to it. How do you properly represent that on your board?

Sorry for the delay guys, it's the end of the semester here and things are crazy, especially with pushing one of my projects through a greenlight process. I'm liking a lot of the suggestions so far and I'll be updating the multiverse soon(tm) once I get a chance to really dig in to your guys' suggestions.
FWIW, Multiverse does give me the option of allowing any user to edit cards. That's also the issue though, any user can edit the cards. For some reason my only options for admin privileges are "just me" and "anyone who's logged in". I'm pretty sure I can trust all of you not to go mad with power, but there is a small chance of some randos editing things.
What do you all thing, would you prefer to have edit privileges so you can continue to make progress without going through me?

We could give it a try, but I am afraid some troll will drop down and randomly change our set. I suggest that before you give us edit privileges, that you extract the current info of all the cards in the skeleton, if such a thing is possible. That way, if someone messes up with the file, at least we will have a backup. If there is no way to make such a backup, I would prefer to play it safe, and I would not mind not having edit rights.

EDIT: I made quite a few perfect suggestions at Multiverse.
The most confusing situation of all: Two Components are attached to each other.
Less Confusing but worst on board state: An artifact creature has 2 components attached and one of them as 2 components attached to it. How do you properly represent that on your board?

FWIW, Multiverse does give me the option of allowing any user to edit cards. That's also the issue though, any user can edit the cards. For some reason my only options for admin privileges are "just me" and "anyone who's logged in". I'm pretty sure I can trust all of you not to go mad with power, but there is a small chance of some randos editing things.
What do you all thing, would you prefer to have edit privileges so you can continue to make progress without going through me?
This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
