A custom set I'm working on has a mechanic similar to Imprint. I'm doubting this will work, but I promised I would ask. Are RFGed cards allowed to have chosen values?
Warding Spell :1mana::symw: Instant
Target creature gains protection from the color of your choice until end of turn.
Infuse :2mana::symw::symw: (You may play this spell for its Infuse cost. If you do, when it is put into a graveyard after resolving, remove it from the game infused to target creature. As long as it remains removed from the game, that creature has “Sacrifice this creature: You may play a card infused to this.”)
If you paid the infuse cost, choose a color. As long as Warding Spell remains removed from the game, the infused creature has protection from the chosen color.

I'm not sure, but as the guy who proposed meld which turned into infuse, I think this could work. I mean, important information in the RFG zone is abundant. (haunt, for example) I don't think this is undoable. Even if it isnt ok with the current rules, I think they could make it ok with a small rules adjustment, which makes it fine for us as designers.
When you play this spell, the effect ends at the end of the turn because that's what the effect says. It doesn't matter whether it goes to the graveyard or is RFG. Infuse, as written, does nothing to make the effect persist. What you need is:

I disagree. He explicitly states a conditional (upon Warding Spell remaining removed from the game due to Infuse) continuous effect that comes into play when the spell resolves provided that the Infuse cost was payed. Seems fine to me on the face of it. (I did have to read it a few times to understand that the text after the italics was part of the spell, not an explanation of the card. The first time I read it, I read it as you seem to have).
I do like where you were going with the first part of your revision of the Infuse ability, though, by trying to make it less wordy.
If you do, remove it from the game infused to target creature.
However, I think there may be one small problem. I think this trigger makes it uncounterable. Since the triggered effect goes on the stack as you play it, it will remove the card from the game regardless of it's current zone when the triggered effect resolves. (eg. graveyard, if someone countered the spell) I believe this is why abilities like Buyback specify "as it resolves". Perhaps it could be worded as such:
You may play this spell for its Infuse cost. If you do, when it resolves, remove it from the game infused to target creature. As long as it remains removed from the game, that creature has “Sacrifice this creature: You may play a card infused to it."
As for the original question, I don't see a reason why an object would lose an attribute such as a color chosen when it's played. Heck, Suspend puts things in a RFG zone with counters on it.
Also, from the current wording it looks like you'd have to pay the casting cost again when you play it from the RFG zone. Additionally, you'd be able to infuse it on something else at that time, too. Is this what was intended?
