Theme
For this challenge, I decided to write a (not so long) story about some things from among the Multiverse and hope you enjoy it. If not, feel free to skip to the challenge.
Nights are never quiet on Stavado.
Horses neigh in their sleep, tamed bisons shift from one foot to the other. Four figures sit by the fire, its crackling sparks flying around.
A hunched, wrinkled old man in shaman's clothes speaks first.
- I shall... I shall tell you. Listen well, especially you two. You have your entire life for you to enjoy each other's company, while I... Old Hathawikte's not long for this world.
The fire illuminates the faces of those he's addressing - a man of mighty stature in worn-out military uniform and a similarly worn-out hat, and a frail woman, not quite young enough to be called a girl, her clothes an exact copy of the old man's - with a fair share of maidenly elegance. One could say she sits a bit closer to the man than should be allowed.
- Go on, old man, we're listening. Who knows when we might get another chance to hear your wisdom?
- Yeh-yeh-yeh. You already have my blessing to marry my granddaughter, young man, and besides, you're a bad flatterer. First, let me ask this. Why do we, the War Axe Community, adore the art of metal so much?
His listeners exchange glances. Looks like no one knows the answer.
- It was a long time ago. We call "him" the Worldsmith. Each world of his was made with his hammer - and he made many, much more than any one of us could imagine... Right, Quezu? There are that many, right?
The fourth, a viashino with a face like that of an iguana, his scales discolored by time, deliberately nods.
- As he crafted each world, every strike of his hammer sent sparks flying. An inconceivable number of sparks, more than there are insects in the whole world...
The viashino suddenly shudders, as if thinking of something extremely disturbing.
- The sparks from the hammer's strikes turned into souls. Mine. Yours. Waziya, chindi - all that are souls, as well, still recollecting the light of the primordial smithy. Some burn bright, some are lukewarm. For us, however, the Worldsmith is akin to a god.
- Didn't think you were into religion, old man.
- We were all godless until we became goldless. Now stop distracting me. Every spark, every soul has some magic within it, left there by the Worldsmith. And now I shall ask you another question: do you know what miracles are?
- Whatever you shamans do with your magic?
- Wrong. A miracle is as different from magic as this fire is from its tiny spark. And the most important difference is that miracles cannot be evoked by magic. A miracle occurring means something that could not possible happened did happen. And so, the only explanation of a miracle comes down to the boundaries of the universe shifting just so the impossible could become possible. And since it is only a being of truly divine power who would be capable of such feat, every miracle is the act of creation itself.
The woman smiles and leans even closer to the man's shoulder. He's lost in thought.
The old man falls silent and watches the fire.
Stay tuned for March's CCL Final Poll. Anyone who votes will receive 2 bonus points for April's CCL.
PLEASE NOTE: This month will NO LONGER use the "mandatory top 3" rule. Critiques and top 3s will each be worth one bonus point per round but it will be possible to score points and advance even without submitting a top 3. This will also be done on a trial basis; future months may once again require top 3s from contestants.
Anyone can enter this first round! Your submissions are due Saturday, April 6th, 23:59 EST.

Miracle 4BBB One moment can save your soul or damn it for eternity.
Mechanically, it's correct. Well costed and the effects are good.
However, it doesn't compare well with Vraska's Contempt. Mythic rarity feels really forced, even for a Mindslaver effect, which seems tacked on...
Flavorwise... "Spark" doesn't go well with "miracle". What is happening exactly? I can't even imagine what was your idea.
Blazing Messenger3WW
Creature — Angel (M)
Miracle 2RW
Flying, hexproof
When you cast Blazing Messenger for its miracle cost, it gains haste until end of turn. You may return an Aura from your graveyard to the battlefield attached to it.
5/5
Good Angel is good. Baneslayer Angel level in terms of power, which probably isn't optimal. I like the flavor of the miracle effect. The only thing that is wrong is unconditional self-hexproof in white. This just should not happen.
Archon's Armor4
Artifact - Equipment (R)
Miracle 3WW
Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has indestructible.
When Archon's Armor enters the battlefield, if you cast it for its Miracle cost, create a 5/5 white Archon token creature with flying. Attach Archon's Armor to that creature.
Equip 4
A solid flavorful Rare. I appreciate that you played it safe with the costs.
Prophet of the Pantheon4W
Creature - Human Cleric (Rare)
God spells you cast have miracle 0.
Miracle WW "You believe in me, and so the whole pantheon will believe in you."
2/4
This doesn't work, for a card to become a spell, you need to cast it first and by then miracle is useless.
Gameplay-wise, it is probably not the best idea to put a cost reducing ability on a 5cmc card. Yes, it has miracle, but a miracled Prophet into a miracled God is either super dumb luck or broken if there's something to enable it.
Kami of the Unheeded2W
Creature - Spirit (U)
Flying
Whenever Kami of the Unheeded blocks or becomes blocked, return it and each other creature that's blocking or is being blocked by it on top of their owners' libraries. Then those players shuffle their libraries.
Miracle 0 "There are no right answers. Only right questions."

I like this idea of "little" miracles. It could be a nice general theme for a set. This effect should probably be blue, though.
Solemn Interim1WW
Sorcery (r)
Until your next upkeep, your opponents can't cast instant or sorcery spells, and can't activate abilities that aren't mana abilities. If you cast Solemn Interim for its miracle cost, creatures can't attack you until your next upkeep.
Miracle W(You may cast this card for its miracle cost when you draw it if it's the first card you drew this turn.)
Pretty cool idea for a Silence variant. Functionality is great, flavor matches. There is only one problem: Why does this "interim" not apply to you?
Ryder052 - I like the similarities to Insidious Dreams - it really feels like the kind of card Wizards would print in a Return to Otaria set. It does feel a little broken right now, though. The drawback that you can't get lands isn't as strong when you can get rituals.
StarJake - That...is a lot of card draw. Drawing an extra card on each player's turn starting on turn three... I wouldn't want to be on either side of that game.
Gateways7 - You put this card up before Feather was spoiled, right? They fit together perfectly, and both make me want to play aleatory, one of the first cards I ever opened, and one of the first cards I ever forgot. Funny how Magic works like that. The miracle could stand to be more pronounced, but this is still good.
Artorias - Neat combat card. I kind of wish you had to pay life for the miracle, highlighting differences between colors, but the flavor works well without it.
void_nothing - I think I see what you were going for with the flavor text, that since the spell has a miracle cost, it's a gift from a deity. I think the only way that would work for me was if the spell didn't have a mana cost at all, and maybe had an innate way to put it back on your library. Mechanically, it's on par with mirrorweave and infinite reflection...except that you can use it with creatures like Hydroid Krasis, creatures with Modular or Graft, or even Academy Elite for one-sided, even-kills-indestructible wraths....in blue.
Algernone25 - "...frantically searching" is cute. I think it's a little undercosted, compared to In Bolas's Clutches, even without the miracle.
