November is going to be Forum Games Month! The challenges for the month will be based on game threads in both this forum and from across MTGSalvation.
You've done well this month with all of the different games set before you, so this time I'll just put that acuity to the ultimate test with a survey of five of the biggest long-running custom card games - no elaborate justifications this time, just five independent challenges.
1. An Archon with a B Belligerent Archon4RWB
Creature - Archon (R)
Flying, Vigilance
Creatures that are attacking you or a planeswalker you control get -1/-1
Creatures your opponents control must attack if able. He drove the men of Akros to a frenzy, and punished them for the selfsame act. But archons see no paradoxes, only a single truth: They are unerringly right.
5/5
2. Red Control Commander: Auntie Hullaga3RR
Legendary Creature - Goblin Shaman (M)
Whenever a goblin you control deals combat damage to a player, put a loot counter on target nonland permanent that player controls.
During your upkeep, gain control of all permanents with loot counters on them until end of turn. They gain haste.
3/3
3. Complaet the Card: Beckett, Brass Admiral5
Artifact Creature - Pirate (R)
Infect, Menace
When Beckett deals combat damage to a player, gain control of target nonland permanent that player controls with casting cost X or less, where X is the number of poison counters they have. She was upgraded for her useful acquisition skills... and the delicious irony
2/5
4. To fit with Lorthos from Zendikar Deepruin Savant3U
Creature - Merfolk Wizard (U)
T: Add CCCC. This mana may not be used to cast spells Overlooked by serious scholars as useless frivolity, the secrets of Ula's lost temple had applications beyond both imagination and sanity
1/4
5. A card named Metathran Tactitian Metathran Tactitian2WU
Creature - Metathran Knight (R)
Hexproof from spells with a converted mana cost of 4 or less.
Metathran Tactition can't be blocked by creatures with a converted mana cost of 4 or less. Lesser forms of reality are simply beneath him
3/3
1) Benevolent Archon4WWW
Creature - Archon (M)
Flying
When Benevolent Archon enters the battlefield, destroy all other creatures. For each creature destroyed this way, its controller creates a colorless artifact token named Gold. It has "Sacrifice this artifact: Add one mana of any color." No more arguing, no fighting, no hostility - only total silence, equality and shine of a noble metal.
4/4
2) Kakeru, Hyoujin Ringleader4RR
Legendary Creature - Elemental Warrior (R)
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that player chooses a creature they control. That creature fights a creature of your choice another player controls. "Of course you can pick any fighter, Marimo. Mine is already chosen."
5/5
Karn, Father of Machines6
Legendary Planeswalker - Karn (M)
+2: Sacrifice an artifact or creature. Add three mana of any one color.
-2: Create a 1/1 colorless Myr artifact creature token with indestructible and infect named Blightsteel Myr.
-12: You get an emblem with "Whenever you cast a spell, each opponent gets two poison counters."
[6]
Moulting Elder3G
Creature - Naga Shaman (R)
Whenever a damage is removed from a creature you control, put a +1/+1 counter on it. Just like old trees of Abzan, Sultai nagas grow stronger with every new spring.
2/5
5) Sword Hunt1W
Enchantment (U)
Whenever a creature dies, reveal the top card of your library. If it’s an Equipment card, you may put it into your hand. Otherwise, put it on the bottom of your library or into your graveyard. Some of the most fancy weapons took more lives of their owners than foes.
