Challenge
Choose one additional item from the lists above, then design a colored creature card themed around BOTH of your chosen concepts from last round and this round that is NEITHER of the colors of the lists themselves. You cannot pick from the same list as you did last round. If you did not play last round, choose two items from different lists.
Make sure to include a rarity.
Make sure you note your element choices.
The card can be any color or colors that isn't noted in the spoiler dropdown's name: You can make a blue-red moon card or a monogreen lightning card, for example, but not a green-white metal card.
To be clear, your card must flavorfully reference BOTH of your choices at once.
Stay tuned for June's CCL Final Poll. Anyone who votes will receive 2 bonus points for July's CCL!
PLEASE NOTE: This month will include a scoring change on a trial basis. For this month, you must submit a Top 3 during a round's critique period in order to receive any points for the round. Submitting critiques as well will be worth 2 bonus points in the round.
Your submissions are due Monday, July 10, 23:59 EST.

This is a really interesting design. The card seems super powerful (in most games of limited it will grow to be very large or will gain a lot of life). The flavor is quite good if you don't think about it too hard.
Valor is an interesting mechanic. I like how your activated ability works well with the mechanic itself.
Appropriate cost and rarity. Power level seems a tad high - I think I would have liked this to start as an 0/3 or a 1/3 instead of a 1/4.
Overall, very good design, creative way to satisfy the challenge. Count me in!
Rocco:
OMG, this card makes me crack up. I think it is both balanced and flavorful. Appropriately costed.
My only complaint would be that the mechanical function this card serves probably should be reserved for common or uncommon. Functionally speaking, this is a beefed up Moaning Wall - it doesn't add the same sorts of wrinkles to the game as do other rare "walls" like Thing in the Ice or Crater Elemental. Truth be told if you made the bottom ability "target creature" instead of "all creatures", you could probably bump this down to uncommon if tides are important in whatever set you're designing.
I appreciate the creativity. Tis the creativity of a scoundrel
Soramaro:
Christian theologians would like this card. Other metaphysicians not so much. It was immensely clever to use creatio ex nihilo to pull this design off. The flavor text really helped sell the concept.
Flavor: Along with the above, the creature types and name also fit in nicely with the card.
Powerlevel: While I do not like random effects like this, I think you've costed it well and have made sure it is useable only in limited, which is great because it's not really abuseable in limited. This card might be preferable at CMC 7, but 6 or 7 is definitely correct, and correct for the sort of ability this is.
I think an outright Hellbent clause would be most appropriate given the void creatio ex nihilo. More elegant than a Hazoret the Fervent clause for sure, albeit a slight nerf in power level.
Really solid card. Well done!
JamBlock:
This is a really solid card, and seems like it would be a great addition to many a limited environment. Power/toughness is fair, cost is fair, effects are narrow and fair.
The only thing I think I would change is that instead of an attack trigger it should be an enter the battlefield trigger. Right now I think the power level is too high for an uncommon. I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong, especially if this is the only effect that is in its limited environment. When you punish 1 toughness creatures too hard, everything has to be bumped up to two toughness, and then you get power creep. Perhaps the fact that this card has low toughness and will trade with almost anything is your hidden mechanism for ensuring that 90% of the time this is a one time effect.
flavor is very good too, and follows a long line of "sand" cards that function like Tremor. I also like the small things like the creature type and name. You set a good ambiance for a solid mechanical card. Well done!
bravelion83:
What a wonderful little card we have here. Potentially powerful (in a good, balanced way), interesting in that it can be built around in limited for a novel experience.
Mechanics and gameplay: From a designer perspective, what I like most about this card is that you made the decision to allow the ability to trigger when an artifact either enters or exits the battlefield. The former isn't necessary, but the latter was absolutely essential for making this card an appealing card. The competitive limited and constructed player knows that expensive cards tend not to be good if you get value from triggers only for cards that you cast after this card is already on the battlefield. Excellent (subtle) design choice there.
For some reason I'm not fond of the general flavor of the card, and I'm not sure why. Maybe because I don't associate blood transfusion with non-combat damage dealing? Regardless, the concept isn't too much of a stretch for me, and the flavor text is good.
I'm not sure I have any recommendations on changes to make to the card. You could consider making it a 1/4 instead of a 2/3. If you were to boost its P/T to a 3/4 you'd probably need to render the trigger as a set 2 or 3 damage, and I think I prefer your version to that one, although that one would be fine as well. Excellent design overall, one that I really like!
Exodus:
A card for the refined gentleman. Flavor is difficult to appreciate for those not knowledgeable about hunting/farming/folklore, but for those who are this card would be a true delight.
I do wish you had taken the opportunity to buttress the flavor of the card. The flavor text you provided is as subtle as the rest of the card's flavor, and you left the back side without flavor text, thereby missing a golden opportunity! My suggestion would be to keep the front side flavor text more or less as written, and then add a flavor text to the back that would clue someone into the overarching flavor of your top-down design.
One last note about the flavor - do you find it odd that a hunter's moon in real life encourages increased activity before the onset of wintere, whereas this card encourages "normal" activity? Perhaps a front half that provided some sort of window to generate an on-board advantage and then a back-half that messed with lands in such a way that made it more difficult to overcome a board disadvantage would have better served the flavor and gameplay?
Gameplay mechanics: This card introduces a novel element to a game of Magic. I like the expansion of Red's utility as a color here - this card is clearly not an aggressive card. What it is I'm not sure - it's hard to classify. It definitely rewards reactive deckbuilding so that you can cast a spell on your turn and on your opponent's turn. Perhaps this would go well in a Koth Skred Red shell.
I think the card, as written, could be either Red or Blue.
The back side doesn't really feel like a reward, which I don't like. I want to be happy reaching into my card's sleeve and turning it over. I'm not all that happy about turning this one over.
Good choice of creature type, and I think the power/toughness is appropriate (I think a 4/3 would be fine too). Appropriate rarity.
How do you like this re-imagination?
Hunter's Moon1R
Enchantment (M)
The first spell you cast each turn costs 1 less to cast.
Whenever a player casts a spell beyond the first each turn, place a harvest/winter counter on Hunter's Moon.
When Hunter's Moon has three or more counters on it, flip it.
// // Onset of Winter (blue)
Enchantment
Spells cost 1 more to cast.
Abilities cost 1 more to activate.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, tap target creature an opponent controls. That creature doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. First they feast. Then they starve.
These are the types of submissions I really enjoy reading. They are brave, innovative, daring. They are still raw and the start to something really really great. Thank you for sharing. Very cool design!

Enchantment (M)
The first spell you cast each turn costs 1 less to cast.
Whenever a player casts a spell beyond the first each turn, place a harvest/winter counter on Hunter's Moon.
When Hunter's Moon has three or more counters on it, flip it.

Onset of Winter (blue)
Enchantment
Spells cost 1 more to cast.
Abilities cost 1 more to activate.
At the beginning of combat on your turn, tap target creature an opponent controls. That creature doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step.
First they feast. Then they starve.

*note: I genuinely liked all 6 cards. Was a real pleasure to read and think about all of them.
