"The Wheel of Time turns, and ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legends fade to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. In one Age, called the third age by some, an Age yet to come, an age long pass, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."
Subchallenge 1: If your card is Akroma, it is not White or Red and if it is Braids, it is not Black or Blue.
Subchallenge 2: If your card is Akroma, it has a converted mana cost of 6 or less and if it is Braids, it has a converted mana cost of 6 or more
For the main challenge, your card should have the name Akroma or Braids. Optionally that can be followed by a title or description. With Akroma, Angel of Wrath the name is Akroma and the description would be ", Angel of Wrath". The card must be a legendary creature, but the creature type can be of your own choosing.
The color of the card is also up to you. For the card to be Time Shifted, it needs to not be the same color as the original technically, but If you for some reason want it to be the same color, then it is allowed for the challenge.
A reminder to everyone: In the MCC, putting rarity on cards is mandatory! If you don't put a rarity on your card, expect huge deductions in both Viability AND Quality.
Also, you should format your text cards accordingly to the forum rules (see the "this formatting looks best" spoiler in the linked OP). Again, expect deductions in Quality otherwise.
Design - (X/3) Appeal: Do the different player psychographics (Timmy/Johhny/Spike) have a use for the card? (X/3) Elegance: Is the card easily understandable at a glance? Do all the flavor and mechanics combined as a whole make sense?
Development - (X/3) Viability: How well does the card fit into the color wheel? Does it break or bend the rules of the game? Is it the appropriate rarity? (X/3) Balance: Does the card have a power level appropriate for contemporary constructed/limited environments without breaking them? Does it play well in casual and multiplayer formats? Does it create or fit into a deck/archetype? Does it create an oppressive environment?
Creativity - (X/3) Uniqueness: Has a card like this ever been printed before? Does it use new mechanics, ideas, or design space? Does it combine old ideas in a new way? Overall, does it feel “fresh”? (X/3) Flavor: Does the name seem realistic for a card? Does the flavor text sound professional? Do all the flavor elements synch together to please Vorthos players?
Polish - (X/3) Quality: Points deducted for incorrect spelling, grammar, and templating. (X/2) *Main Challenge: Was the main challenge satisfied? Was it approached in a unique or interesting way? Does the card fit the intent of the challenge? (X/2) Subchallenges: One point awarded per satisfied subchallenge condition.
Total: X/25

Kicker 2
Flying, trample, protection from red and from green
When Akroma, Angel of Dreams enters the battlefield, if it was kicked, put a +1/+1 counter on it and draw two cards.
Whenever Akroma becomes the target of a spell or ability, if it has no +1/+1 counters on it, sacrifice it. She’s a dream come true.
5/5
APPEAL (2.5/3) Big and bombastic, Timmy delights. Johnny wants to cheat a counter on to it, and I think the big CMC can be dealt with in a Spike control deck.
ELEGANCE (2/3) Having protection on Akroma is kind of necessary if you want a real colorshift, but there's a reason it's fallen out of favor with WoTC. The jumble of abilities it contains present a stern wall of text, or oracle searches.
VIABILITY (3/3) Normally blue only gets trample once in a... well, blue moon, but Akroma is famed for her out of color abilities. So I'll let it slide. Mythic is the correct rarity here.
BALANCE (2.5/3) The drawback on this card, is an acceptable counter balance here. If only just with the protection from red and green.
UNIQUENESS (3/3) The illusion drawback clause is a common balancer ability in Magic. A toggle-able one is not,
FLAVOR (2.5/3) The fact that Akroma was indeed fashioned by Ixidor, Reality Sculpter and illusionist extraordinaire makes a neat callback here.
QUALITY (3/3) No errors found.
MAIN C. (2/2) Met.
SUB C. (2/2) Both met.
Braids, Chaos Warper5RR
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard [Mythic rare]
At beginning of each player's upkeep, that player shuffles target artifact, creature or land that he or she owns into his or her library, then reveals the top card of his or her library. If it's a permanent card, he or she puts it onto the battlefield.
4/4
APPEAL (2/3) Turns things into random other unrelated things? Count Timmy in! Johnny will probably get a laugh out of this one too. Spike, however, will sit in a corner and sulk over the dreaded CMC of seven.
ELEGANCE (2.5/3) This may make the average player go "Huh?" but I think this card is self contained, in that no interwebs browsing would be necessary to get what its aiming at.
VIABILITY (2/3) While red is allowed "warping", WoTC hasn't done the "top card only" version in a while because it usually is just straight removal. Indomitable Creativity has a newer format in which the player digs till they hit SOMETHING. So they get at least a little back. Rarity wise this is fine.
BALANCE (2.5/3) The above mentioned format shift does ding this one a bit. However, I think the steep cost here offsets most of the problems this would cause. Minor format shifts might have to be done.
UNIQUENESS (2.5/3) Chaos warp is a dangerous game, but also a hilarious one. Again, setting aside the formatting thing, I feel red need more of this kind of wacky, lottery tranmogrification hi-jinxs.
FLAVOR (2/3) Both Braids let the turn player pick their poison/power. As worded now, you choose targets on each side.
QUALITY (3/3) No errors found.
MAIN C. (2/2) Met.

Braids, Daru Commander4WW
Legendary Creature - Human Cleric (M)
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, tap three target artifacts, creatures and/or lands that player controls "To me, 'home' is not a place, but peace of mind and soul."
4/4
APPEAL (2/3) Timmy is rather underwhelmed here. This effect is powerful, no doubt, but not terribly splashy. Johnny of course seeks to abuse the fact that you always have the choice of targets for shenanigans. Spike... probably could go either way, the high (though I realize challenge necessary) CMC is a bit of a challenge, but this would slot perfectly into a WU control deck.
ELEGANCE (3/3) The ability here is rather straight forward.
VIABILITY (3/3) Tapping is within white, the repeated tapping does warrant the mythic rarity here though.
BALANCE (2/3) At mythic, 6 mana, and legendary this may even be a touch restrictive. I could see a ban in EDH maybe? Multiplayer games would make this tricky, but I suppose it would also paint a big fat target on your head too.
UNIQUENESS (1.5/3) This seems rather humdrum in the land of white. Repeated tap. Meh.
FLAVOR (2/3) With both incarnations of Braids, the player in question had jurisdiction over the target. Here you pick on both sides. This is a flavor miss.
QUALITY (2/3) Ability missing a period at the end.

(3/3) Appeal: Timmy likes all the abilities, Johnny might get this to work. Spike loves the power this card brings to the table.
(3/3) Elegance: Makes sense at first glance.
Development - 3
(3/3) Viability: This is definitely a mythic, and black can fit here, but will talk more under flavor.
(0/3) Balance: This is way to powerful. Massive stats for only 4 mana, even if it is black heavy. Then afterwards it curves up perfectly to cast it from your graveyard, the cost to reanimate this pales in comparison to what it brings to the board, and then on top of that it can be reanimated indefinatly untill it gets exiled.
Creativity - 5
(3/3) Uniqueness: Standard "Akroma" ish card, but with a pretty unique way of working as a card.
(2/3) Flavor: I feel that it should use more black orientated keywords. The reanimate feels black, but would have liked another think that make it black Akroma, and not just an Akroma that is black.

(2/3) Appeal: Timmy likes big flyer. Spike can use this, he likes the protection choices and value. Johnny don't like to much.
(3/3) Elegance: Makes sense at first glance.
Development - 5
(3/3) Viability: I can see this as a Mythic and blue fits well on this card.
(2/3) Balance: I like how the kicker turns this into a normal "Akroma" card, 8 mana 6/6. But I think that drawing two cards might be to much, maybe just 1. Besides that I feel it balances it self out well. All that for 6 mana is allot, but the "illusion" effect fixes that.
Creativity - 6
(3/3) Uniqueness: Also a standard "Akroma" card, but with a nice twist on it, especially with the kicker counter deal.
(3/3) Flavor: This really does feel like a time shifted blue Akroma.

(2/3) Appeal: Timmy likes to pull stuff from his library. Johnny can find a way to make this OP. It is to expensive for spike.
(2/3) Elegance: Allot of word clusters.
Development - 6
(3/3) Viability: I feel here that maybe you should have added own and control Maybe you did go for the effect that you can snag cards back, so lets put this under elegance. Red feels fine here and I can see this as mythic, having such a complex effect.
(3/3) Balance: I think this is well balanced, it provides no clear benefit to either player. It has a weak body for it's cost so all that leaves you is how you build your deck to synergies with this.
Creativity - 5
(2/3) Uniqueness: It is a nice use of Chaos Warp effect, but it is just a Chaos Warp cast each upkeep for each player.
(3/3) Flavor: I do like the tag added to the name: Braides, Chaos Warper. Its pretty funny and cool.
Polish - 7
(3/3) Quality: I think that there might be a better way to word it, so that it is not as clustered as it is now, but points deducted in elegance.

(2/3) Appeal: Timmy does not like the double blade effect. Spike can use this in a controll deck. Johnny can find a use for this.
(2/3) Elegance: I think that new players might get confused here. It would fit better if it was worded "tap up to three" If it is meant to only tap if there are at least 3 viable targets, it can still confuse players.
Development - 4.5
(3/3) Viability: For some reason I personally think rare would fit her better, but I can also see her as mythic. White fits here to me.
(1.5/3) Balance: This has a powerful effect going for it. Lock-down by tapping stuff out can be a big thing. Even tho there is a double sided sword effect, you can minimize it to your self and really do one over on your opponents.
Creativity - 6
(3/3) Uniqueness: The double sided effect feels fresh here in the way the tapping works.
(3/3) Flavor: I love the flavor here. I can see this as a white incarnation of Braids.
Polish - 7
(3/3) Quality: I see no problems here.

For this round we will look at the Time Shifted legendary card cycle from Planar Chaos. Crovax, Ascendant Hero, Braids, Conjurer Adept, Mirri the Cursed, Akroma, Angel of Fury and Jedit Ojanen of Efrava. We will take a more specific look at Akroma and Braids.
Main Challenge: Design a time-shifted Akroma or Braids card. So an alternate version of Akroma, Angel of Wrath or Braids, Cabal Minion. Please see clarification.
