I've always been a huge fan of Kung-Fu movies and the ancient warrior culture of the Far-East. Needless to say, when I first started to play Magic (around the time Shards came out), I was very excited to buy cards from Kamigawa block. Unfortunately, like most people, I was pretty disappointed by what I bought. I hope that Wizards revisits this block soon and does the subject matter proper justice this time around.
With that said, in January's CCL we will be indulging my fantasy by making cards for this next installment of Kamigawa..... Challenge
Make an instant or sorcery card that evokes the flavor of a Ninja, Samurai, or Monk. The card should be intended for a Return to Kamigawa block.
None for now.
Stay tuned for December's CCL Final Poll. Anyone who votes will receive 2 bonus points for January's CCL!
Your critiques are due Sunday, January 15, 23:59 EST.

Knives in the NightBB
Instant {U}
As an additional cost to cast Knives in the Night, return an unblocked attacking creature you control to its owner's hand.
Destroy target creature. No blade is so deadly as the blade unseen.
Honorable Stand1W
Instant (U)
Target creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn. If that creature dies this turn, draw two cards. Though their lives did waver, their honor did not. In the end, all bodies must fade, but their glory shall live forever in story and song.
Drawing cards is not usually a white thing, but a few cards do. As card draw is so powerful, it can't be entirely barred to white. I went with the idea that white gets reactive card draw, that is only when something else happens. It's fairly consistent with all non-cantrip draw recently out there.
Incessant MantrasGUU
Instant (R)
Counter target spell.
Prevent all combat damage that would be dealt this turn. The greatest threat a budoka can deliver is "I would like to have some words with you."
Sneak PastU
Instant (U)
Target creature gains hexproof until end of turn and can't be blocked this turn.
Splice onto Instant 1U(As you cast an Instant spell, you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its splice cost. If you do, add this card's effects to that spell.)

Flurry of Blows3G
Instant {U}
Target Monk creature you control deals damage equal to its power divided as you choose among any number of target creatures. In his final waking moments, the bandit Okamatsu realized that the monks weren't mute after all. They simply spoke a different language – one of poetic violence.
Monk restriction is here to make this harder to turn into a wrath with deathtouch.

"You live and learn. At any rate, you live." -Douglas Adams
Defend the Peasants1W
Instant (U)
Target creature can block any number of creatures this turn. It gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of token creatures you control. The province is nothing if we don't protect the people who feed it.
Escape Artistry1UU
Instant {U}
If a creature would die this turn, exile it instead. If you do, return that card to its owner's hand at the beginning of the next end step.
They Came From Shadows3UB
Instant (Mythic)
Cast They Came From Shadows only during your turn and only during combat.
Return each unblocked, nontoken creature you control to its owner's hand. For each creature returned this way, you may put a creature card from your hand and/or graveyard to the battlefield tapped and attacking.
Way of the WarriorW
Instant (C)
Target blocking or blocked creature gets +2/+2 until end of turn.
Draw a card. “Being a samurai is not only about combat skill. It’s also about honor, duty, bravery, and loyalty. It’s more than just a fighting style, it’s really a way of life.”
—Sensei Golden-Tail
This was my first submission. I missed the "instant or sorcery" part, but I like it too much to remove it...
Master of the Hidden Blade3UU
Creature — Human Ninja (R)
Ninjutsu 2UU(2UU, Return an unblocked attacker you control to hand: Put this card onto the battlefield from your hand tapped and attacking.)
Prowess (Whenever you cast a noncreature spell, this creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.)
When Master of the Hidden Blade enters the battlefield, you may cast an instant or sorcery card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your hand without paying its mana cost.

Rise of Lords1WG
Sorcery (R)
Target creature you control fights a creature target opponent controls of his or her choice. Those creatures have "When this dies, tap each other creature you control" until end of turn. Two samurai, one code. To the victor: fealty.
MoonformGU
Instant (U)
Target creature gets +3/+3 and gains hexproof until end of turn.
Draw a card. Wushu - When you cast Moonform, copy it for each Monk you control. Each copy targets a different one of those Monks.
Tengu's Whispers1BR
Instant - Arcane (U)
Target opponent chooses an untaped creature. Until end of turn that creature looses all abilities and attacks if able. Do not speak of peace, Samurai. For when it is obtained with the point of the sword, it is but a truce.
Budoka ChantXG
Sorcery (U)

Get Over HereR
Instant (U)
Get Over Here deals 1 damage to target creature you do not control. That creature attacks or blocks this turn if able. Ninja typically value stealth and subtlety. But sometimes, a more direct approach is called on.
Blades of Glory (Rare) W
Instant
Until end of turn, target creature can block any number of creatures and gains bushido X, where X is the number of attacking creatures. It blocks each attacking creature this turn if able. The blade has many forms. It has many shapes as well. - blacksmiths' proverb
Protect the Daimyo1W
Instant (U)
Choose target creature you control. Until end of turn, each other creature you control gains Bushido X, where X is the instance of Bushido that creature has (Whenever a creature with Bushido blocks or becomes blocked, it gets +X/+X until end of turn.)
