And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

I suppose it's true. Though the logistics implied in a human/Great Wyrm Prismatic Dragon pairing makes me shudder.

I like the card, it's very original... But how does it work? Does it draw cards, yes or no?
I think the wording should be clearer either way (at least an italicized text to epxlain it, if a better wording can't be found) but the card, the whole concept of it, just feels so right, it deserves to win despite that.
You really just need to embrace the rage. I keep a small colony of hamsters next to my computer and every time I lose a match to mana screw I throw one against the wall.
Congrats! It’s a great card! Maybe you could tell us a little about how you got the idea?
Sure thing. My original plan for the round was to make a lot of cards that could be used and then pick my favorite. I started by making a card that made sense in each color (other than blue) and an artifact. None of them were good enough. I liked the simplicity and balance of the white one (which I posted in the discussion thread at some point) but it was too dull. I also liked the concept of my original green idea but threw it out as well. I was actually quite worried that I couldn't come up with a single good idea.
And then it just sort of hit me: rather than full turns, get an extra part of a turn (a la Paradox Haze) over and over. It quickly became clear that the untap step was the best candidate, with the upkeep added in order to a.) impose a time limit on the card and b.) actually do something with your untapped permanents. Because of stack timing, the trigger to end the turn and take an extra one had to come after the upkeep (otherwise you could stack the CU trigger first and get infinite untaps and upkeeps). Originally I did not want it to draw cards, but there was no way around it without cluttering the card up (if at all).
From there, the flavor was undeniably green and the text came after a couple tries. The art was the hardest part; I looked through PBG's entire thread without finding a single useable piece until the last couple pages, where I found the lotus pic that I had been itching to use for months.
And that was that. See what happens when you get me talking?
I like the card, it's very original... But how does it work? Does it draw cards, yes or no?
Yes. The reason is because the card draw during the draw step does not use the stack, so when the "end the turn" triggers it only hits the stack after you've already drawn.
I think the wording should be clearer either way (at least an italicized text to epxlain it, if a better wording can't be found) but the card, the whole concept of it, just feels so right, it deserves to win despite that.
I agree there is potential for confusion, but it's not like that's unusual for a WotC card. Plenty of cards generate rules questions, even ones that do their best to spell it all out on the card like Time Stop. I'm confident that most players would intuitively play it correctly.
Just for grins, I thought it would be fun to design a deck around this, since it is very Johnny. Here was my crack at it:
Thank god you're judging and not playing again this round. You might've churned out another godly card and then where would all the rest of us be? I don't want to lose by 3-4 points on an average in a finals. Haha. Good job!
The idea behind this card is excellent, however something needs to be done about the drawing cards issue.
Think about what this does if it allows you to draw. It's late in the game and you are out of gas, and have 8 lands in play. You draw this off the top, play it, and pass the turn. Your next "turn" is as follows: untap pay 2 and draw, untap pay 4 and draw, untap pay 6 and draw, untap pay 8 and draw, untap sac Blooming , draw, and take the rest of your turn with your now overflowing hand.
So you just drew 5 cards this turn at the low cost of zero mana (you untapped your lands). This is Harmonize on steroids.
There are two fixes that I see:
First you could just eliminate drawing cards all together while "blooming" - add line, "If you would draw a card, draw no cards instead".
Or, you could greatly reduce the amount of times you are able to "bloom" - add line "Skip your untap step."
Other than that, this card is really a gem because it has such an elegant design. Congrats on the win.
The card is nice, but is overpowered. I can say even broken. Time walk enchantment, and of course with suspend its even more powerful. Doubles the upkeep triggers and many other things. Did I mentioned the fact that you draw two cards? and if you pay it twice...I know it can be removed, but Time Walk can be countered.
I wouldn't say broken, but its ties you down to draw some cards. Awsome late game topdeck, and ok in midgame. Awsome with flash creatures too. I would say its fair.

I agree. My initial intent was for it to not draw cards but at the time I couldn't see a way around it (we only had ~ 2.5 days in the round). If I were to go back and fix it, I would probably do it like this:
Perpetual Blooming 1GG
Enchantment
Cumulative Upkeep G
During your draw step if you would draw a card, instead end the turn then take an extra turn ofter this one.
That would leave the upkeep and untap steps intact and preserve the original concept of abusing upkeep triggers and instant-speed effect while preventing the card draw and reducing wording confusion.

much, much better. Not too good and abusive like the other version. It would've been a bomb especially in extended, legacy and vintage...

I don't like the fact that if you're playing a stalling deck, you could use this to easily take 4 of the 5 extra turns after time has been called.
But pretty neat card, nonetheless
