Card Creation League The Last (June 2019)
Round 2 - Flashback to Reality
The heroes have gathered from across time. Some old friends greet one another fondly, while others recall past slights and trade insults or even nearly come to blows. In the ethereal space around them, years play out in moments. The heroes recall planes they may have traveled through themselves in the years following the original call - a fairytale land caught between day and night, shards of worlds forced into convergence, a wild plane faced with an ineffable threat, and a pristine metal world corrupted beyond recognition. A master of temporal manipulation appears, reminding the assembled of their first visit to a plane of monsters and darkness. Around the same time that this mage first appeared, helping the heroes remember their past with a magical skill that was itself drawn from the distant past, new heroes had also first appeared, commandersforanewgeneration. To face what comes ahead, the heroes will need to recall the legacy of these pioneers.
Challenge: Create a spell with both flashback and one of the following mechanics introduced in the Commander series. Stay within the color identity of your Round 1 card.

TotallyHaywire: "Create two 2/2 Blue Illusion..." I Wonder where you got the inspiration for using Lieutenant in a way we haven't seen before. Nice trade-off, where keeping this in the yard actually benefits you more. I would increase the initial casting cost, though, given the nearly automatic boost the tokens (and other Illusions you control) receive.
netn10: Does not match the Color Identity of your first round card, which was Black. This is Blue.
Algernone25: This is an odd state based check. And very Class-ist of you. Destroying Barbarians and Mercenaries I understand, but what about the tireless Advisors and overworked Serfs? Surely they deserve some mercy. The Flashback cost feels a touch high, and it would have been amusing to include sacrificing a Cleric, Druid, Shaman, or Wizard as part of the second cost.
Hemlock: The second half of the ability would probably need to be worded closer to Spark Double. This is also heavily undercosted and should probably be Blue, given the magical Clone token army you can generate.
kwanyeegor: Does not match the Color Identity of your first round card, which was Jund. This is Mardu.
Jimmy Groove: "All creatures get..." If you're going to make a dirt cheap (in multiplayer) Laguish variant, copy the wording properly.

void_nothing - interesting, the zombie part makes it seem like Meren's spell, not super powerful thou unless you already are doing experience counters
Subject16 - super nice and perfect flavor, I personally love Ugin
Eventide Sojourner - seems like it could result in way too many cards drawn for too cheap lol
Artorias - too much like a fancy Soul's Grace, not that original but is probably fine balance
Cardz5000 - wow I reall like the flashback extra effect...super nice card I wanna play in mizzix
IcariiFA - modal makes this cool, seems like a cycle, wanna see the rest of the cycle

你好 have you eaten?
I'm a simple Magic player since 1 year ago from China. Now I live in New Jersey.
TotallyHaywire - Lieutenant's flavor on something that isn't a creature is... odd, to say the least, and I don't think that lieutenant and flashback have the good kind of internal tension on this card.
netn10 - That flashback ability doesn't work like you think it does; flashback is, first of all, not an activated ability, and second of all your opponent casting it from your graveyard would not result in you controlling the spell, so basically what you have here is something that would need to not at all be flashback in order to function, and thus not in keeping with the challenge.
Algernone25 - Lieutenant on an instant/sorcery is still bizarre but this is at least intriguing me as to what kind of precon it'd go in, and I've always been into multi-tribal.
Hemlock - That is some unfortunately inelegant wording for an interesting idea. The flashback cost provides some internal tension that might be fun to play around. Nice way to possibly finish off an entire table with one attack?
kwanyeegor - Undaunted works with flashback very well. I like the name and general flavor. This is the sort of card you either never get to cast or it causes blowouts.
Jimmy Groove - Highly similar to kwanyeegor's card, being an undaunted flashback mass removal card, so very few points for originality, but the effect is cleaner.
TotallyHaywire: Neat use of lieutenant but probably too strong. Even without the lieutenant ability its 7 mana for four 2/2s, which while somewhat fragile still is great value, especially with its flexibility in spliting it up.
netn10: I really don't understand why you'd want a flashback like this. The base effect is cool though.
Algernone25: A distinct tribal card. Wrath reference feels odd for black.
Hemlock: Neat, though the flashback might be too cheap. Unique feeling effect.
kwanyeegor: I like the flashback idea. The black makes the selfishness of the card standout. The name doesnt fit for me.
Jimmy Groove: Cool name, fine card. Not the most creative effects.
I'm posting a second set of critiques (before I have calculated total points) for both teams because one set for Team 1 is too few.

This is a great way to build on experience and give a boost to the commanders that use it. It merges so well with flashback.
Subject16
Neat references to Ugin-related stuff. Flashback is thematically great for his character, maybe a more interesting flashback cost involving the manifests would be cool.
Eventide Sojourner
Seems a bit on the cheap side but there's a fun churn through lands there. I don't think the offer's drawback is strong enough - ramping you one is a small price to pay for drawing 4+ cards.
Artorias
I'm not sure if this is more elegant, or if it's more interesting to have the life gain be varied for each player, like highest power among creatures they control. The flashback doesn't add much here.
Cardz5000
I wish there was a sweet flavor treatment to show why everyone has to take the offer the second time. It's a bit confusing to read but I think it would play pretty fun and it seems balanced.
IcariiFA
It looks really flexible but it's pretty swingy. Without having built up a lot of experience, it's really bad - you have to pay 8 mana to get a couple tokens or pumps. That said, it could be pretty good later on in a Daxos deck when you double your experience twice.

Mage tribal is flavorfully cool and the effect is nice. It aesthetically scales well as something you might want to do before your commander comes out followed by a more powerful effect with the commamnder.

The flashback cost is certainly within white's pie but it kind of feels bad that I can't myriad out all my creatures when I use this the second time.
kwanyeegor
This is a cool effect but undaunted and flashback don't particularly add to it as far as I can see, and the color swap is doable but I'm not sure why it's happening from a flavor sense.
