A combo is a type of synergy that results in either a) the game loss of an opponent typically starting with 20 life, b) the game win of a player, or c) a series of repeated actions, often infinite but not limited to being infinite, regardless of whether those actions are optional or not. Combos are banned.

I have no clue on why does my entry display "Cate" instead of "card". When trying to edit, the box reads "card" normally. Is the Word "Cate" at the end of my entry being displayed for you too?

Whenever a creature you control attacks, you may exert it. If you do, discard a card and you may cast target instant card with converted mana cost X from your graveyard without paying its mana cost, where X's the exerted creature's power. Yeah it says "Cate", I reported the post as needing tech assistance. This just happened to me recently and I think void fixed it.
This is a nasty forum bug that prevents any edits. Fortunately, it has both a prevention and a cure.
The prevention - NEVER edit a post while it still displays "a moment ago" as the posting time. This generally means waiting a full minute. If you edit before this time, the forum software will ignore that edit and all future edits. If you need the correct post immediately, you should delete and repost. But if this isn't possible, or if you slip up...
The solution - Wait a while and change the post significantly. Put the word "placeholder" in place of what you're editing out. Then, when you edit, you should see it change over, and you can freely change "placeholder" to what you want to edit in.
Round 2 is closed! Please critique the 6 names ABOVE yours, rotating around to the bottom of the list if you run out. Then give your top 3. You have until the 13th. Good luck!
I'm happy to provide critiques, but are we auto-advancing everyone that posted this round? I guess there were a few extra people in Round 1 but it doesn't seem like people should advance if they didn't participate in both rounds.
I'm just going to critique everyone but I'll use the list for my Top 3.
Per like Pegasus Refuge and Zombie Infestation I think straight one card for one token is probably considered a development risk, but who knows. It's a neat way to use both cards synergetically.
I was thinking along these lines as well, the power and CMC lineup is cool and this seems like a fun concept. I kind of wish it was a creature itself or cost less.
This is definitely an out of the box way to maximize synergy. Being an instant is pretty weird and shouldn't it just copy the ability? I'm not sure if black makes too much sense to me here, red and blue is what I would think of but either one could probably do it alone.
Hellbent+storm is an interesting concept, but I'm not sure how this synergizes?
I was kind of like "ok we saw this already" until the end. Turning cards temporarily into tokens and then back into cards is fun, in fact I got a Card of the Month many years ago for a card that did that. This is a cool red way to do it and seems like a fun legend.
That's pretty nuts, although exert is a clever way to balance it while synergizing. I guess white has done a little of this before, Parallax Wave comes to mind. I'm not really sure why it leaves two creatures other than to fulfill the conditions. Maybe half of the creatures, or a Fact or Fiction split (Thanos??) would make more sense as a standalone card.
The pieces are there but this doesn't feel quite as cohesive as some of the other similar attempts.
I'm happy to provide critiques, but are we auto-advancing everyone that posted this round? I guess there were a few extra people in Round 1 but it doesn't seem like people should advance if they didn't participate in both rounds.
While it's unlikely, If they out score you, they outscore you. Doesn't matter if they only participated in one round. There is no auto advancing in this case.
I think being able to discard a card for a goblin is too easily abusable. On the other hand, I do like how this plays out in fair games, and it does synergize well with both cards.
Very creative idea, I like that you decided to work with both the card type (instant) and the cmc (5) rather than the more obvious synergies (discard, going wide). The wording is a bit awkward, but I can't really think of a better way to word it.
For a six-mana enchantment, I want to be able to do more than cheat out instants and sorceries that I could probably cast anyway. I think this card needs a bit more utility or cost less for it to be playable.
Very cool card, I haven't seen this kind of effect before and it seems like it provides you with a lot of interesting options and gameplay. However, I don't think you can say that it synergizes with Twinstrike, as you would need to spend 10 mana to cast both in the same turn and take advantage of hellbent.
Maybe I'm underestimating the effect, but this seems like it requires a very specific set of circumstances to be good. You need to play it, have it live until your next turn, have your opponent control more than two relevant creatures, have enough creatures to take advantage of the effect, and on top of all that, you still need to exert your creature. I guess I would need to play with the card to confirm, but I think it's probably too narrow.
The effect looks interesting to build around, but there's a lot of weird stuff about the card. You can only cast instants and not sorceries, the discard is part of the effect and not the cost, you need to have a creature with the same power to cast the instant, and it doesn't exile the instant so you can keep reusing it. Overall, it seems kind of confusing and unintuitive.
The discard a card for a 1/1 Goblin is really powerful considering it's a free discard outlet and a free creature generator providing you can get more cards. I'd either make the second ability cost a small amount of mana or make you discard two cards like Zombie Infestation.
I like this card and it's quite similar to my own submission, though I think yours might be better. I feel like there's a wording issue here in that you should have two separate lines of text like Vizier of the True, one that says "You may exert a creature you control as it attacks" and the other one being an exert-related trigger.
I like this card as an all-or-nothing spell. It fits well with both cards and is in the right colors as well (even if doubling triggers is apparently a blue effect).
At first I didn't notice how this synergized with the two cards, but it's actually really good with both cards and has a clever if not overpowered design. I'm also not sure about the flavour of the card, as banishment from Naktamunn usually meant you weren't coming back.
I like this card a lot. It can go in a lot of fun directions and really synergizes with both cards. My inner EDH player wishes this could be BR though.
I fail to see how this synergizes with Trueheart Twins. I like the concept, but as far as the challenge goes this doesn't comply.
