A planeswalker that -2's to gain more loyalty counters.
Planeswalker - Ral
+1: For each player, tap or untap up to one target permanent that player controls.
-2: Flip two coins. If both coins come up heads, take an extra turn after this one. Otherwise put two loyalty counters on Ral Zarek, Head Researcher.
-5: You get an emblem with "Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for that copy.
-7: you may activate each of Ral Zarek, Head Researcher's other loyalty abilities once this turn as though none of his abilities have been activated this turn, without paying their loyalty cost.
[4]
ETA: I suppose this might not be entirely true to the prompt, since while his -2 can put loyalty counter on him, it never adds more than you started with...
@BlackTempleGuardian, thanks. I'd have never thought to try Mana, I was trying variations of Symbol.
Next up: a single faced Arlinn Kord card (for when she's off Innistrad).
+1: Look at the top card of your library. If its a creature card, you may reveal it and put it into your hand.
-1: Support X. X is equal to ~ loyalty. Flip ~
{[3]}
Arlin, Fighter Unbound
+2: Target creature deals damage equal to its power to another target creature. Flip ~
-X: Put X 3/X green Beast and/or X/2 red Wolf creature tokens onto the battlefield. Flip ~
This follows the rules because Akki Lavarunner which is a flip card is on a single face
Next Planeswalker: Fblthp. Totally Lost
Fblthp, the Hopelessly Lost UU
Planeswalker - Fblthp
Whenever a player casts a creature spell, put a loyalty counter on ~.
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield, you may remove 3 loyalty counters from ~. If you do, return that creature to its owner's hand.
When you remove the last loyalty counter from ~, put him on top of his owner's library instead of into his owner's graveyard.
[1]
Still totally lost, still hates crowds. Poor thing.
Okay: a faerie planeswalker. (short lifespan, small body = Probably low loyalty/mana cost with few abilities, but of course very tricky.)
Planeswalker - Laoris
{+2}:Counter target spell unless its controller pays 1. You may activate this ability anytime you could cast an instant.
{-1}:Return target creature to its owner's hand.
{-3}:Look at the top six cards of your library. You may put a faerie or noncreature spell from among them into your hand.
{3}
Next: A scarecrow planeswalker to fit into the Reaper King tribal EDH.
Planeswalker - Gagorh
+1: Put a 1/1 colorless Scarecrow Horror artifact creature token onto the battlefield. It has "This creature can't be blocked by nonartifact creatures."
-2: Exile target player's graveyard. You gain 1 life for each card exiled in this way.
-9: You get an emblem with "Whenever you gain life, lose life, a card is put into your graveyard from anywhere, or a card leaves your graveyard, creatures you control get +1/+1 until end of turn and Scarecrow creatures you control gain trample and wither until end of turn."
{[5]}
Next: A planeswalker who has something to do with a creature type that has only ever appeared on one card. Doesn't have to be a tribal effect, the planeswalker could just be from that species or something.
