Name: Reyath Maor Race: Human Class: Wizard Personality: Reyath makes no effort to form long-lasting allegiences. Since early on in the formation of his magicking might, he grew a distaste for selfless do-goodery. Never one to avoid a fight, he tries to stay in the peripheral, watching and waiting for the perfect moment to get what he wants and get out with the least personal risk. However, he despises ruthless oppression, and will occasionally get his hands dirty defeating a bullying tyrant, especially if it means potential wisdom and riches in the process. Background: Reyath grew up on a cattle ranch for the first half of his childhood. When bandits razed it to ashes, he took up the sword and enlisted in the imperial militia. Subtlely, gradually, during his feverish training and combat, strange mystical powers crept out of within him. He used them to his advantage, careful not to be observed by his compatriots. Once out of the service, he sought the life of a wandering adventurer, eking out what existence he could with his talents, his training and his wit. Trait: Keen Hearing Appearance: Athletic build, above-average height, blue eyes, brown hair, clean robes and boots, daggers at his side.
Ruandih realizes that he has bit into a little more than he can chew for two reasons:
1. He's broke.
2. He doesn't know how to speak. (He's never tried before.)
Fortunatley, At this moment an assistant walks into room (I can do this, right? Or is this too much?). Anyway, If I can create an NPC, this is what I do:
"Madam--" says the assistant in a high, soft tone. Then she stops. She gets a blank look in her eyes. Ruandih casts this spell:
Hijack ThoughtsU
Sorcery (C)
Gain control of target creature with converted mana cost 1 until end of turn. Untap that creature. It gains haste until end of turn.
The assistant's eyes glow purple and she continues talking, only this time she speaks in a deep monotone, Ruandih's voice that he cannot speak alone with. Ruandih's (the real one, not this ignorant pawn) eyes are closed and he is motionless.
"Ma'am," the assistiants lips do not move in time with Ruandih's words as if she is struggling against the mind mage. "I am your customer, do not fear me. I have never myself spoken before so I need another body to control to speak. I am broke. Do you have any items that cost something other than money? Mana perhaps?"

Pehmel is a city on an aquatic sphere. The entire place is constructed of gray and yellow marble, pillars and arches of it reaching straight up, out of the sea. The entire city was a giant spiral, six kilometer-wide piers with towering buildings sitting astride them all curving inward, towards the city center, and the bridge towering above the world there.
You've just arrived on a boat. You'd heard that this was a good place for trade and there's always a few jobs to pick up. On the other side of the bridge is a city named Cellim-Del, famous for it's falcon riders and it's mage schools. Cellim-Del rests on a sphere named Uhumha, which is entirely built around trade and commerce between the different spheres. Perhaps you wanted to enroll in a school, or travel to Uhumha. It's up to you.

The one-horned man narrowed his blazing, red eyes in apparently confusion, tilting his head to the side, "Well, not that recall. We lack drama or stress in these parts. We are content with what we have, what we know. If you would like to see more, we have villages where things still must be done. They are distant. You would be welcome to rest in the hammock in my families yard, if you seek a resting place, howev--"
But just then he stopped speaking and turned his head to the east. Did he hear something?
OOC: What was the card for? I couldn't give you a Challenge Rating due to uncertainty.
Ivan, Silverpaw Ledev
After enrolling for your first semester at Dem Blaret's Institute, which will afford you three nights to yourself out of every five, you go about town, job-hunting.
You find three jobs which will pay well in a single lump sum, but which involve some danger, eleven jobs which will be rather boring, but which will provide you with a full week, and an indeterminately long list of one-time jobs that also look boring.
Which would you like specifics on?
Sutilith
After the freezing spell wears off, you begin to slowly dig in an uncertain direction, through the darkness. It's slow going, but you're okay with that, and after a while, you break down a wall and fall into a slightly more spacious cavern.
You can't see in the dark, but it seems that there is some light in this room, and after looking around for a moment, you notice that the light is coming from a creature eating a corpse in the middle of the room:

Your little friends zip on out to get to work, but after a moment, return with a few scraps of metal infused with raw magic from the explosion, as well as some residual levitation spells, which together have made this scrap metal simply vibrate violently at all times. This would make a nice toy, but not particularly useful.

Create a Distraction Balance:Pandemonium says this card is likely balanced. My only complaint is that the second ability doesn't specify that it has to be the a creature an opponent controls. 8/10 Flavor: "Release the Beast" makes me think of Beast tokens. 5/10 Polish: Good man. 5/5 Overall Score: 18 (Success, Mana Spent, 2 exp gained)
After you take the energy the sheep gave you and weave into a spell, you cast said spell on said sheep. Then, after a dragging moment, one sheep turns to another, blinks, and the violently headbutts his fellow.
What follows is best described as an EPIC SHEEP BATTLE as you and Lodus zoom away towards the mountains. As you fly, however, Lodus turn towards you and speaks, "If we are to work together, Faerie, I request you share what information you gain. What did the sheep tell you?"

"Hmmm, wands that work well with those types of mana? Do you want wands that amplify spells of those types, that cast spells of those types, or that compliment spells of those types? Or should I get them all, because all the wands I can think of in any of those categories, while still being below 4 gold, I would be able to get in one trip," the wand salesman asks with a small, mocking smile.
Later, after shopping for food, you find you can get dried rations for a month, along with a store of water for a month, for 1 gold. If you strictly ration the food, you could survive off of it for up to 3 months. It's quite a bit of food and water, though, and you'll need some help carting it all around. The grocer says he'd be fine with helping you transport it, once, though.
As far as ships go, the cheapest ship fully capable of extended trips is a barnacle-ridden, low-slung, green boat, with a tiny food storage full of rats, and three hammocks instead of beds. It's going for about 4 gold.
OOC: 1 gold is about $100. If that helps put anything into perspective.

After an hour of forced inability to move, Kallum quickly conjures up a spirit to scavenge some food for him, which swiftly goes stalking off deeper into the newly-formed caverns, searching for carrion to feast upon, taking it's light with it, forcing Shane to cast a spell upon his eyes to allow him to see better in the blackness, and, now able to see, he finds himself able to find a few bodies piled on the cavern floor.
Now well fed, you should likely determine what you want to do.
OOC: Also, you guys just successfully destroyed an entire town, which I count as a self-initiated quest, so expect some loot with the next update. Nothing big, mind you.

"Bard?! What's that? Some vermin? Like a harpie? No. I hate harpies! Always screamin. Always insultin. They steal toys! Get rid of them! Can't. Too smart. They know. They think up stuff. Used to talk to them. They talked to me too. Hate them!"

After you explain about seeking lotuses, Eruda chuckles, "Ah, you are another in a long line of flower hunters. If you were to get a few of them or this trip, I'd be very impressed, but would love to have a chance to research them as we go. Also, we do have ways of protecting ourselves, but we are woefully short on adaptability, which is why we hire bodyguards. Now, if there's nothing else, I have the contract here, just sign here," she says, handing over a stick of charcoal and indicating a sheet of papyrus on the side of the table you hadn't noticed before, "We will be leaving in the morning. You'll be fed as we depart, so no need to worry about that."
OOC: One more post before the trip.

After you manage to successfully steal the keys, the guard captain is back on his feet, shouting, "Invisible! Get the patrols together! We're going to ring the cages close with guards. Give her no room to move! Send a runner to a mage school with a gold piece. Heir a dispeller!"
Well, that's going to considerably complicate things.

Produce Mana Balance: The closest parallel to this which I can find is Black Lotus mixed with Mishra's Workshop. Not going to count that against you, but I still think this is too good. It also reminds me of Dark Ritual, which is odd. Though, entering the battlefield tapped is not enough to justify +3 mana, especially at uncommon, and even if it's only for artifacts. 1/10 Flavor: A machine that transforms into other stuff. I can get that flavor here. Good job. Polish: Good man. 5/5 Overall Score: 16 (Failure, Mana Spent)
You sneak off into the shadows, trying to store some mana for later use, but find that your damaged memory banks are affecting your ability to save up mana. You're going to either need to find some abundant source of mana, or rest for some time, else you're going to be walking around with no mana for some time.
As you stalk off into the foul-smelling shadow of the castle, you notice a drainage pipe leaking some molten material. You're just small enough to fit into it, and while there is the risk of stumbling into more molten material and… melting, you have to weigh that against the other options you have: all of which involve using doors that these demons and devils use regularly, and this carries the risk of being discover.
Which is greater: An environmental risk, or a sentient risk.

You head off towards a distant, floating tower. It's a ways off, but when you get there and manage to make it up to it from the ground, you find that the juicy purse is empty, and the surrakar bouncer is inside, sitting at the bar with a rather intimidating expression on his dumpy face. the bartender and owner of the Juicy Purse, meanwhile, is shouting into a communication device, "-well when will they be back up! I'm not staying on this sphere a minute longer than I have to! What!? Three days! That's too damn-"
The bouncer, however, has noticed you, and stands up from the bar, quickly, his movements fluid and graceful, in contrast to his immense size, "Oh, hey, Urion, right? Sorry, but we're closed. As you may have heard, Fahn here is seeking a change of scenery," he explains with a chuckle that doesn't really touch his eyes.

Find an Elemental Balance:Tracker's Instinct, but with the colors reversed, each cost dropped by 1, and which can get tribal cards, but which requires the player to choose a creature type before the cards are ever revealed. I'm feeling that this would be a bit on the too-good side, considering that you are digging four cards down for a single U, and then again for 1G. Also, unoriginal. 4/10 Flavor:Tracker's Instinct does fit in the flavor here. The addition of good flavor text is also good, but again, unoriginal. 7/10 Polish: Good man. 5/5 Overall Score: 16 (Failure, Mana Spent)
You make loops over the sea over and over again, but see no sign of a trail or shimmer of differently colored lava. You do, however, gain RR from your prolonged proximity to magma, and would have been dealt 3 damage by it as well, if it wasn't for the spell that is currently granting you flight.
Speaking of that spell, it's currently weakening, and you need to find a place to touch down, and soon. Perhaps you can go about finding out how to get yourself out of this predicament.

At the sudden mind control of one of the wand-keepers, the woman's eyes go wide and looks back and forth between you and the assistant in shock "Sir, that is not an acceptable means of communication! Sign language even! But don't just take over someone's body! Release her at once!"

Off in the distance, by the dim light of this sphere, you can make out a few buildings still standing:
A series of towers can clearly be seen behind everything, poking into the sky. You could get a lay of the land from there.
A low-slung, fortress-like building. Might be a tomb or an ancient armory. Might be some valuables in there.
A pretty, long building. You think it's either a library or a town hall. Documents should be there either way.
A few residential buildings are still standing, their gardens overgrown and wild. Who knows what's there.

Well sometimes you lose some and sometimes you win some. Joran shrugged slightly as his sprites only found a piece of metal that was vigorously vibrating before they disappeared into the aether. Jorna sighed, it seemed he would have to do this the hard way. However, he wasn't one to waste things,so putting the the vibrating piece of metal into one of the many hidden pockets in his clothes, he kept it for another time. Once that was stowed he then tried to find the entrance into the wreckage that had the least foot traffic at the moment and ventured further into the wreckage.
Treading lightly, he tried to steer clear of the low, sharp, and pointy castoffs, as he kept his eyes peeled for unsacavenged dwellings or any other treasure hunters that may be over burdened with treasure, he would be more than happy to relieve them of it, if that was the case.

Focusing hard, Allisandae was already flying to Lumpin's cage while the guard stood back up. He urged every ounce of speed he could get out of his wings, hauling that HEAVY key-chain in the air as he went. He jammed the key in and turned it, then let go. As his grasp released the key his illusion no longer disguised it, and it sat in the keyhole visible for any to see.
"A game for a game, our bargain is paid." Allisandae's voice lost it's characteristic speed and clipped nature, there was no joy in it, it was austere and almost reverent. Then his voice was back to normal "A good thing too, Lumpin because a whole new game will start soon and I'm not too sure I wanna play. Well, I wanna play, it's what I do. I love playing 'n' all. I just am not sure what side to play with, or if I should just spectate. You be free again, time for you to toss the dice on your own. Your game now. Best of luck!"

OOC: Well, I suspected that that would be the case, but Urion being the kind of fellow who looks out for himself first and prefers to do plenty of planning before he acts, I was having a hard time justifying him rushing into a damaged mine on a tip from a shaken-up dwarf when there was possibly an alternate solution.
However, given that I would very much like to explore the mines, and that the Juicy Purse is closed with Zeff nowhere in sight, and that while helping a bar owner reopen might be safer than heading into the mines, it gets Urion no closer to Zeff, whereas rescuing Guy at least provides a glimmer of hope in this regard, if you'll permit me...
***
"Yep, glad you remembered. You know where I can find Zeff?"
The surrakar raised an eyebrow. Or at least, he raised the part of his forehead where an eyebrow belonged. Urion still wasn't sure if surrakar actually possessed eyebrows. The surrakar responded in a lowered voice.
"Come on, man, you think Zeff lets me know where he's goin'? I show up whenever someone needs punching. Other than that I'm on a need-to-know basis. I hear he got a network of smugglers goin' in the mines, maybe someone there knows where he is."
The irony of the situation was not lost on Urion. He blinked several times in annoyance, both at himself and the universe's sick sense of humor. He gave the surrakar a mumbled "Thanks" and turned to go.
"Sure thing," the surrakar replied. "And watch where you're throwin' Zeff's name around. He's not exactly Man of the Year to some folks. Thought you'd be smarter than that. Good thing you're not a brain surgeon."
Insult to injury. This was not Urion's day. He left the Juicy Purse and began the trek back to the mines.
[LATER]
Upon his return to the mines, Urion saw a group of escapees queued up for inspection by medical personnel. The dwarf he had patched up was among them, and Urion sauntered up to him.
"Hey there. Did that Guy fellow ever make it out?"
The dwarf thought for a moment.
"Dunno. Don't think so. No one new's come out this way yet, but maybe he found another way out. Crafty guy, that Guy. You gonna rescue him finally? Oh, and do you smell bacon?"
Urion glanced over to the mine entrance. A thin trail of smoke was still wafting out, and though a rescue team had arrived, they seemed to be poring over a blueprint of the mines and arguing amongst themselves over how to proceed. Ah, the benefits of working alone.
"I'm gonna try. And no, I don't. You should probably mention that to someone."

North... yep it was north. She made the closest to a beeline for the area, slogging right through yet another ocean of crimson.

Xenaris continued to attempt to track down an elemental in the sea of lava. However he changed his tactics. First he summoned a Fionan elemental to ensure he didn't fall.

With the elemental keeping him from falling he continued his search. Like the mood of the elemental he summoned he searched in a chaotic, random fashion. He let the elemental choose the course trusting that it would guide him. When he had gone in this fashion for a few minutes he decided it was time to try and call a lava elemental.
Instead of simply attempting to observe its trail like last time he would actually try to call an elemental to this place. His chaotic path had put him in the correct state of mind. Now he shaped his remaining fire mana. He formed it into bluish-green flames and fired these flames into the lava. Carefully, he wrote a character in the elementals (of Fiona anyway) language with his flames: "come". He focused his feelings and desire of meeting a lava elemental as he wrote, hoping it would help.

Should he find an elemental he would ask if the elemental would consent to teach him the ways of its kind. To earn its trust Xenaris offered to perform a task for the elemental of its choosing.

Alright, let's get on the other end of this thing:
Name: Miswik Bagump
Race: Noggle
Class: Cleric
Personality: Miswik is very shy and lacks self-confidence almost altogether. He wants to help people but often doesn't out of fear of rejection. His general demeanor day-to-day could be best described as "droopy."
Background: Miswik grew up on the sphere of Phalapha, where Noggles were a minority race. He learned to be a healer from his father, as it was the family tradition. He mostly lived a quiet life, catching small animals to eat and treating the wounds of any travelers who passed through his small town.
But one night, tragedy struck. A group of racist rioters burned his Noggle village to the ground while Miswik was out catching fish. With his parents presumed dead and nothing left at home, he left seeking better spheres where his kind was not so ostracized.
Trait: Strength
Appearance: Well he looks like a noggle. About 5'8, hunched, short mane, pale skin/white hair/fur. Droopy face.
Pehmel is a city on an aquatic sphere. Constructed almost entirely of gray and yellow marble anchored several dozen feet below at the ocean floor, with pillars and arches of it reaching straight up to support Pehmel. The entire city is constructed as a colossal spiral, six wings reaching out from a central point, where the silver-and-gold bridge rests. Each wing is a kilometer wide and easily four long, supporting dozens of shops and residential centers
Slinking out the boat, trying to go unnoticed, you look up at the bridge in the distance. You'd heard that the city in the other side is known as Cellim-Del, and was famous for people who rode falcons and people who used a lot of magic. The place was dry, though, built in the heart of a desert sphere, Uhumha. Both Pehmel and Cellim-Del are pretty successful centers of commerce.
Well, time to decide what to do.

OOC: I was half hoping that you'd go with a full time job. It would have given you an identity in the world and allowed for interesting storylines to be told, with recurring characters and everything. However, adventure is adventure.

Summoned Shadow Jaguar taken up nest in magic shop basement. 5 gold to whoever can exterminate it. Resistant to dispelling. 16-H Delshod Lane, contact owner.
Rogue stole three prize falcons. Military offices will allot 5 gold to whoever can help progress the investigation. Contact military offices.

Joran Harclay
It takes a little while to find a passage into the wrecked tower which was both large enough to admit you and relatively light on traffic, but, after about an hour of searching, you find one that is actually completely devoid of traffic. Dropping inside, you find yourself in what seems to be a ruptured ventilation shaft, and figure out why there's been no foot traffic to here: It's dark, and no one should be storing things in a ventilation shaft, but as you thing about it, you discern that you could likely make it to any location in the tower using these shafts as avenues, and after only a few minutes walking, you've already found a few locations:
A busted-up laboratory with lots of shattered tools.
Several large apartments, plants and dishes shattered about everywhere. Three of which seem to still have movement in them.
A room with a safe which some scavengers have already found.
A recreation center with the pool draining into the hallway.
A bar with two figures visible beneath the overturned bar.
A garden currently being crushed beneath the weight of all the metal above it.
The shaft seems to be getting more and more unsteady as you go. You could investigate these locations you've already found, or press further on, into the ventilation shaft, but that might require you to crawl for a ways.
Ereld Nacul
Erudra directs you another tent near the schedule pillar, supervised by the civil mages. With no lamps and thick fabric, it's dark inside the tent, but something you can't identify is keeping it cool as well. The place contains a wash basin and a series of cozy little cots. After some time to settle down, you're out for the night, and next thing you know, you're being woken by an elf with green tattoos, like moss, all across her forehead.
Stepping out of the tent, you notice that the world is still dark, yet dozens of people are wandering around, setting up their wagons to leave in a few hours to the light of torches. You can make out the hulking sprawl of Asha-Ho off to the east, lit by hundreds of torches, and a few dim spheres in the sky overhead.
The elven civil mage beckons you to follow her, leading you off to a series of five wagons already set up for the journey. Each wagon has it's own pilot. The foremost is Erudra, and she steps forward, "Hello, Ereld, Viruno, I believe you need to be introduced to the rest of the caravan. This is Athamal," she says, indicating the elf woman who woke you, "Atlak," a male leonin with a massive green tree tattooed onto his back, "Delshomoru," a figure that you would have mistaken for a skeleton, but appears to be some kind of elemental on closer inspection, with green grass tattooed around it's skull, "and Weni," a short human girl with an thorny vine tattooed in emerald along her neck. "Everyone, this is Ereld Nacul and Viruno."
They all voice greeting, except for Athamal, who doesn't seem to talk at all, and you might not count Delshomoru, whose voice is a crackling of energy, and you can't really understand it. Erudra turns back to you one introductions are finished, and speaks, "You can ride in whichever wagon you like. We're heading out now."
The trip is a long one, taking several weeks, and passing through all sorts of different desert lands, and at one point, as you trudge through some dusty mountains, off in the distance, built on the sides of several other mountains, you can see a city with it's own bridge, which Weni explains is Ma-Vershei, a city famous for it's wine and food.
One the twentieth day of travel, you make it to Cellim-Del's own caravan staging area, built on the edge of a vast canyon. Walking to it's edge, you see the bridge of this city touching down at the heart of the canyon, and, thus, at the heart of the city as well, as it's been built up and into the sides of the natural formation, streets made of wooden planks suspended by ropes between towers, with the towers themselves acting as ways between layers. The richer parts of town seem to have a lot of waterfalls draping their area of the canyon, and there seem to be dozens of groups of giant falcons zooming about in the air.
The trip took you near a R-aligned city and to a W-aligned city, as well as across a wide stretch of desert terrain. Thus, you have gained 2R(R/W)W.
Shane Dæmonsbrood & Kallum Yksin
As the two of you begin shifting around through corpses, you manage to come across a lot of useless stuff, such as bed sheets, half-full wine bottles, bottle-openers, a bag of pebbles, a pen, a needle, and a frying pan. However, you each manage to come up with a total of 5 gold pieces ($500), most of which is in the form of silver and copper pieces, as well as a a single set of boiled leather vambraces (+1 toughness), and a dirk (+1 power).
As you're searching about and deciding where to go next, Kallum suddenly feels something odd. His spirit is being affected (targeted) by someone else.

Steal the Creature Balance: Compared to Unhallowed Pact, I'd say this is a tad bit underpowered. Not by much, as yes, you do decrease the cmc, but you also make it only usable on cmc 3 or less creatures, which hampers the power, and you make it so it only works on your opponent's creatures, which hampers the utility. Still, it's not a huge power drop. 7/10 Flavor: Good flavor, just forgot a couple of comas in the flavor text. 9/10 Polish: Forgot rarity. Also, when the enchanted creature dies, the aura dies as well, and thus you can't sacrifice it. 2.5/5 Overall Score: 18.5 (Success, Mana Spent, 2 exp gained)

You race back to the Loxodon's cage, and, carefully, turn the key before the others catch up. Lumpin, seems a little surprised for a moment, but tears out if the door in a wave of flesh a moment later, ripping the key from the lock as guards shout as they run up, weapons bared. The commotion has woken up a few slaves, and as Lumpin takes a blade in the leg, he manages to stuff the key into the lock of another cage, and tear the door halfway off it's hinges, allowing the dozen-or-so slaves to pour out as their giant savior turns and smashes his assailant in the head, sending him flying, his sword still standing firm in Lumpin's calf. As the first guard collapsed, however, six more replaced him, ringing the slaves with weapons drawn.
It's strange. Dozens of other slaves had been sold today, and none had made a bid for freedom when the were let out of the cage, but now, with Lumpin towering over them all, and another slave clutching the key and eyeing the other cages, they looked prepared to fight.
Lumpin yanked the blade from his leg and, after considering it for a moment, turned back towards the guards attempting to menace them with cries of, "Back into the cages," and charged, with only an undersized knife and his skin against a squad fully equipped with armor and helms.
Urion Calimenaliphorn
OOC: Lol, nice. All this is fine. It doesn't introduces any element I would have otherwise not have introduced, and it allows you to take a path I had planned more for. Although, the rescue team would logically try and stop you from going into the mine, as you'd be a liability in their eyes, but I'm just going to say they're too stressed out and absorbed in their discussion to notice you breezing by. I'm also going to assume you're going into the mines.
The disfigured dwarf bids you farewell as you head towards the mine shaft, zipping by the rescue team silently arguing with each other as they go. You get a glimpse at their blueprint, however. The mine shaft seems to plunge directly into a large natural cavern. From there, several shafts shoot off in several directions, into other, smaller caverns, many doubling back and criss-crossing to make a dizzying web of shafts. You lock onto what appears to be the disaster area. It looks like a single cave-in has affected close to three dozen shafts, closing exactly three caverns off. These caverns have been labelled, one with "target", one with "highly explosive", and one with "Ignore".
That is all that you can see, even with your superb eyesight, before you're in the mine shaft. There was a mine cart here before, but it must have been knocked off the rails when they got so thoroughly warped. So, from here you simply have to slide down the shaft, passing beautiful mixtures of metal and ore as you fly down. Once you reach the bottom, you notice that many of the lights in this mine have been knocked out, leaving you in close to complete darkness, looking out at the steel cavern, the ceiling lost in shadows above you, several piles of rare ore and gemstones still waiting to be carried to the surface. You can see the mine cart from the shaft in the middle of the room, as well as the rows and rows of mine shafts leading off this cavern at every angle.
The air down here is muggy and full of static charge, and some of those gemstones must be full of mana, as, just standing here, deep inside the metal skin of Alfal, you feel yourself gain 1(W/U)(U/R)(R/W).
So, what will it be? Target, explosive, or ignore? Remember, 'ignore' might just be because someone paid them off, and 'explosive' might still have people in it, but they have chosen to avoid it for safety reasons.

Lodus considers you for a few moments, then speaks, standing stiffly on that invisible platform of his, "I might be able to, but I need more information. There are dozens of potential caves in those motions. I could enact a random search pattern, but it would likely take days before I found the cave in question, it would be difficult to do at night, and we run the high risk of being spotted during the day. I've actually been working on finding information in their villages. However, I've found no records. It seems as though they commit every scrap of information to memory. I've noticed a few of them disappear into the mountains each night, but every time I follow them, they vanish, and always in a different location, thus I have had no luck on that front either.
"However, I am quiet skilled at reconnaissance, and can shroud tracks and trails easily enough. If you were to sneak information out of the Ackma's minds, I believe I could hide your trail before they caught you."

After a long time flying about the sky of Morkla, casting a few spells, and even summoning a storm elemental to help keep your search going, you're finally rewarded: Far below, directly where you sculpted your runes, a shape emerges…
But continues to emerge…
Holy crap you summoned a big one…
After about a full minute, the colossus of lava looks down upon you, towering at least half a mile tall, and made of lava of a kind unlike the other lava around you, sleeker, and seeming to flow more quickly, just looking at it hurts you eyes.
After a few seconds of glowering, the elemental speaks. It's language is strange, but similar to the storm elementals you conversed with at great length back home. You miss a few words as it roars, molten spittle flying at you from it's gigantic maw, "Why have you called, ???. Your runes ??? strange. ??? do not call ??? ones. Not before. You are first, ???. Why have you called, ???."
When you explain that you want to be taught, the giant throws back it's head in laughter, "Teach ???. What ??? want to learn? How to melt?! I can teach ??? how to melt!"
Though, you have to give it one last chance, and request a task to earn it's tutelage. At this, the giant tilts his head at you, "Prove to ??? That you deserve to learn, that ??? can learn, that ??? has something more than ??? has."
Your proximity to the lava awards you another R, and, presuming you don't move next round, will deal you 1 damage.
Salve
Carefully avoiding rivulets of molten metal, you begin stalking into the pipe. It's cramped in here, and every few meters, there is another adjoining pipe or twist in the current one. The molten material seemed to be radiating mana as you go, and you slowly add (B/R) to your mana banks. It also seems as though every sound in the castle is bouncing around in these tunnels. You hear screams. Arguments, the chop of a cleaver into meat, the demented laughter of a mess hall, the pounding of a thousand hammers, a whimper, a sickening crunch of bone, the roar of a fire, and even the rustle of papers.
As you progress, you catch images through grates. You see a burly human who clearly has a fair bit of demon blood in him shoveling coals into a furnace. Then, later, a small body laying on the floor, a knife still jutting from it's chest as other devils fight over it's belongings. You come across an empty forge a while later. As you progress you even see a shrine containing a figure of a colossal, flaming figure.

It was a long trip, but it wasn't extremely boring. Ereld chose Athamal's wagon. "Someone who won't talk. What excellent company." During the trip, he does try to garner information about the civil mages from Erudra, Atlak and Weni, mainly about what kind of magic they wield, how respected they are (and feared if at all), as well as some more general information of what to expect at Celim-Del, and if there are any bandits or dangerous creatures that might lurk in the desert.
Passing by Ma-Vershei, Ereld muses "Figures the grandest cities would be in the mountains. Best source of water around here I suppose."
Upon arrival at Cellim-Del "Impressive. Never had any architecture this elaborate back on Lessit. Urion considered his options. "Explosive" was right out, at least for the first foray. If he wanted to explore all three tunnels, not dying in #1 was a big prerequisite.
"Ignore" was certainly intriguing, but probably not worth the payout. There was either nothing down there, something down there that was in the best interest of his mortality to ignore, or something down there that someone was going through great pains to conceal from the population at large. Maybe Guy could shed some light on the subject, but Urion wasn't keen to blindly stick his hand in that cookie jar.
That left "Target". It was either being targeted for rescue operations or targeted for destruction. Either way, Urion wanted to get in before he had company.

Personality: Reyath makes no effort to form long-lasting allegiences.
Trait: Keen Hearing
Appearance: Athletic build, above-average height, blue eyes, brown hair, clean robes and boots, daggers at his side.
1. He's broke.
Hijack Thoughts U

After enrolling for your first semester at Dem Blaret's Institute, which will afford you three nights to yourself out of every five, you go about town, job-hunting.
You find three jobs which will pay well in a single lump sum, but which involve some danger, eleven jobs which will be rather boring, but which will provide you with a full week, and an indeterminately long list of one-time jobs that also look boring.
Which would you like specifics on?

After the freezing spell wears off, you begin to slowly dig in an uncertain direction, through the darkness. It's slow going, but you're okay with that, and after a while, you break down a wall and fall into a slightly more spacious cavern.

Also, we do have ways of protecting ourselves, but we are woefully short on adaptability, which is why we hire bodyguards.

Balance: Tracker's Instinct, but with the colors reversed, each cost dropped by 1, and which can get tribal cards, but which requires the player to choose a creature type before the cards are ever revealed. I'm feeling that this would be a bit on the too-good side, considering that you are digging four cards down for a single U, and then again for 1G. Also, unoriginal. 4/10
Flavor: Tracker's Instinct does fit in the flavor here. The addition of good flavor text is also good, but again, unoriginal. 7/10
Polish: Good man. 5/5

Xenaris continued to attempt to track down an elemental in the sea of lava. However he changed his tactics. First he summoned a Fionan elemental to ensure he didn't fall.

The storms made by newly born storm elementals are highly chaotic. They shift from harsh buffeting winds to rapid lightning strikes and back again in the blink of an eye.

Elementals draw each other by their flames. The tiniest ember can portend the coming of a great inferno.
Should he find an elemental he would ask if the elemental would consent to teach him the ways of its kind. To earn its trust Xenaris offered to perform a task for the elemental of its choosing.

Creature - Noggle Cleric

Ivan, Silverpaw Ledev
OOC: I was half hoping that you'd go with a full time job. It would have given you an identity in the world and allowed for interesting storylines to be told, with recurring characters and everything. However, adventure is adventure.
The three jobs are as follow:
Summoned Shadow Jaguar taken up nest in magic shop basement. 5 gold to whoever can exterminate it. Resistant to dispelling. 16-H Delshod Lane, contact owner.
Rogue stole three prize falcons. Military offices will allot 5 gold to whoever can help progress the investigation. Contact military offices.
Seeking aid in recovering valuables from my home 40 miles to the north of Cellim-Del, which is now likely a den for bandits. Contact Feoel Gi Branan Kolu in the homes at 2-A Gershe Street.

Steal the Creature
Balance: Compared to Unhallowed Pact, I'd say this is a tad bit underpowered. Not by much, as yes, you do decrease the cmc, but you also make it only usable on cmc 3 or less creatures, which hampers the power, and you make it so it only works on your opponent's creatures, which hampers the utility. Still, it's not a huge power drop. 7/10

As you've flown, more of the night has passed, and you gain 2(B/G).

Definitely a city where I'll need to keep my wits about me... it would be very easy to lose track of a resident here." Turning to Erudra, "So this is Cellim-Del... how much further to Fa-Halloum and Ir-Ren, and do we have business here?"

OOC: Urion is going to explore the Target tunnel. Before he does so, he will examine the mine cart. If it's in good working order (i.e. undamaged enough for him to be able to put his bindle in it and push it in front of him like the world's most obnoxious shopping cart), then he'll put his bindle in it and push it in front of him like the world's most obnoxious shopping cart down the tunnel. If it's not in good working condition, then he'll attempt to fix it (in the next post in case there are any special instructions...and because I don't feel like making a card if I don't have to).
