Destroy target permanent with converted mana cost lower than the highest power among creatures you control, as though lands have a converted mana cost of 6.
@Trice, still trying to help with this one! How about:
AsunderBG
Instant (R)
Destroy target non-land permanent with converted mana cost lower than the highest power among creatures you control.
If you control a creature with power 6 or more, you may destroy target land instead.
I agree with EpiCycle1. I think his suggestion is the best way to word what you're trying do.

No this isn't from our set currently, but I like it and wouldn't mind adding it. It's funny, I think this the first Ormos flavored card I've posted all month, and it's on the first day of your return. :)Thanks for helping Indighost out by getting the thread up. I was sleeping when he PMed for help. BTW, I will be back to posting the thread starting tomorrow (or tonight if Indighost is still having difficulties).

Vigilance 1, T: Return target card from your graveyard to your hand. If you do, put a 3/3 green Elephant creature token onto the battlefield. Her memories are what guarantees the survival of her pack.

Am I missing something here? Because this card is certifiably insane. Regrowth and a 3/3 for "1, T" on a creature with vigilance?
You're probably not missing anything. That's what happens when you post cards in a rush. I should have probably rechecked the card and make the cost 3GW and/or up the cost to activate the ability, but now it's too late. Luckily (from this point of view) from today I will have more free time.

I can't remember the last time I actually played Magic.
I feel ya. The vast majority of Magic I've played in the last 18 months or so has been playtesting custom cards. I hope it's not making me out of touch!
Me too. Because of things such as $80 fatpacks and Commander decks, my playgroup has gotten a lot smaller over the last few years, and the ones that are left have gotten to the point where they only play EDH, and TBH, I'm kinda sick of EDH. I would love to play some competitive Modern, but I only get a chance to play on Fri after volleyball (I don't play on-line), and that's always EDH nowadays. I was going to go to the Modern Grand Prix in Pittsburgh, but when the Mets ended up in the World Series, I decided to spend the money to go to that instead. I'm hoping to finish up the set I'm working on with a few others pretty soon, and my RL group has already said they would be willing to draft it with me, so at least I've got that to look forward to.
Edit: Speaking of the custom set I'm working on....@Groovelord....I was wondering if you mind if I pitch a card you made to my team. I really like Oppressive Peacekeeper, and it would fit our set perfectly IMO (although it would need to be changed to an Archon). We would give you credit as the designer of course. Here's the post with the card I'm talking about...
Oppressive Peacekeeper3WW
Creature -- Angel (M)
Flying
Each opponent can't cast spells during his or her precombat main phase.
Spells each opponent casts cost 1 more to cast for each tapped creature that player controls.

I've also just been playing electronic Magic in various forms for quite some time by now. I think the last paper cards I own are from Avacyn Restored or around that time.
I didn't see that card by Groovelord, but you're right Flatline: it just feels perfect in Ormos! And don't worry about not ending that project, now I'm back full time and I'll start playtesting too. The problem about that card is that we already have one extra monowhite mythic, but this one is just perfect and it wants to be included (providing Groovelord agrees, of course). Well, we'll work something out, that's for sure.

I have never really worried about finishing Ormos either, and have accepted the slower pace we have been working at. We can talk more in the set thread about what to do with the card if Groovelord is ok with us using it. The DCC discusiion thread is probably not the right place for that discussion.
BTW, the DCC will probably be up a little later than normal tonight. If anybody doesn't want to wait, they are free to post the thread at the standard time of 10pm to 11pm EST. If not, bravelion or I will get the thread up ASAP.

Ok. Too weak? Too abusable? Does it need to be multicolored? If so, GW or WU? Last Acts1W
Enchantment (U)
Whenever a creature you control dies, you may choose one -
• Tap target creature.
• Untap target creature. Cathers know that any mission could be their last, but that in their deaths other may live.
I don't think it's too weak, although it might be a bit abusable. I feel like it would need in it because of the untap ability. I actually think this might make the most sense in because of the death trigger , but seems like it's ok too. The flavor is definitely white.
Edit: Last Acts + Viscera Seer + Nether Traitor + Birds of Paradise = Scry your library. Right? That's probably fine since it's a 4 card combo, but there might be something simpler that I'm not thinking of.
Edit2: Actually, you would need 2 Nether Traitors. It's probably not as abusable as I thought.

Mono blue is where I'd go with it. I can't say if its too weak or not. It's a good Johnny cards for eternal formats, I'm sure someone will find a way to abuse it. As far as regular limited goes, it can be a great build-around uncommon, depending on the meta game.
I just want to remind people to get their cards in early today. I plan to post the thread about 3 hours early tonight (8 PM EST). I need to take a nap before my 1:30 AM viewing of Star Wars.

Today's scoring is incorrect. acheron_xl and I both received 5 votes, which means we tied and both should get 6 points today. There should be no 7/5 split between us.
You are correct IcariiFA. I have fixed the thread to reflect the correct scores. I edited the thread to include Groovelord's post (he posted while I was putting the thread up), and although I included his votes, I failed to notice that his vote tied you with acheron_xl. Hm: archeron XL, sooo close. As much as I love twobrid mana cost, your card is a bit of a fustercluck. Tricedefied got my votes by mere millimeters
If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. Following up Clash on Beledin (a several months old version is viewable at mtgpile.com!) with a set based on twobrid shard multicolor has been one of the most difficult things I've ever done, so any constructive criticism is welcome.
edit - Since I've seen a small bump in traffic to it, I went and updated mtgpile.com with the current version of the set. Many changes!
In reaction to Flatline about my card and Omnibian: this was directly inspired by Omnibian. I thought having it pass on the ability and not just the 3/3 Frog base might lead to interesting play scenario.
While the card is in fact different than Omnibian, I can't envision any real situations where the difference would come into play to your benefit. Of course I could just missing something obvious....I do that sometimes.

I'm probably missing something obvious here, but how is it any more helpful in EDH? I suppose you could turn all of your creatures into Omnibian to protect them from a Pyroclasm, or you could turn an opponents creature into Omnibian, then hope that sets off a chain reaction in which all opponent's creatures are turned into Omnibian, and then wipe them all out with an Anger of the Gods. I suppose you could hold back a bunch of 1/1 blockers and the Ooze for blocking purposes, turning them all into 3/3s after blocking. Anyway, as I said, I see that the card differs some from Omnibian, but I still don't see many scenarios where that is very relevant, even in EDH. I suppose the pumping little blockers scenario is somewhat legit though. Again, I'm sorry if I'm missing something obvious here.

Votes: acheron_xl, TriceDefied (I would have made the bonuses symmetric for aesthetics, for example +2/+0 and +0/+2)
What can I say. Sometimes I forgo aesthetics for balance.
And I can't blame you for that, I just said out loud what I was thinking in my mind (as I always do), that's all. I still like the card and I still voted for it.
In other news, I will take over the DCC on the 3rd. As last time, due to me living in Italy, aka 6 (east coast) to 9 (west coast) hours ahead of the US, the posting time of the thread will change. I expect to be posting the thread everyday around Italian midday, which means around 6 AM EST or 3 AM PST. Don't get me wrong. Criticism is welcome. I was just presenting my design philosophy. I'm simply more of a Spike than a Melvin :D.
And I am both! I'm a Spike/Timmy (more Spike than Timmy, even if my Timmy part is alive and well), and a 100% Melvin and proud of it. And to prove that Melvin and Vorthos are indeed compatible, I'm finding my Vorthos part growing in me too (and a big part of that was starting to read all Uncharted Realms since KTK). What I am definitely not is Johnny.

Yes. Feel free to vote whether you've submitted a card or not. The only rule is you must vote for exactly 2 cards from the OP.

No, I'm not going to explain why I was gone; nobody needs to hear horror stories of what someone who's insane and lying can put you through legally.
I'm also probably not going to be coming back, mostly just due to lack of interest on my part. I will come by and check in every once in a while, though.

Am I missing something here? Because this card is certifiably insane. Regrowth and a 3/3 for "1, T" on a creature with vigilance?
Seems a bit OP.
You're probably not missing anything. That's what happens when you post cards in a rush. I should have probably rechecked the card and make the cost 3GW and/or up the cost to activate the ability, but now it's too late. Luckily (from this point of view) from today I will have more free time.

• The two public custom sets I've been part a part of the design team for:
"Brotherhood of Ormos" - Blog post with all info - set thread - design skeleton / card list || "Extinctia: Homo Evanuit" - Blog post with all info - set thread - card list spreadsheet
• "The Lion's Lair", my article series about MTG and custom card design in particular. Latest article here. Here is the article index. Rather outdated by now, and based on the old MCC rubric, but I'm leaving this here for anybody that might be interested anyway.
• My only public attempt at being a writer: the story of my Leonin custom planeswalker Jeff Lionheart. (I have a very big one that I'm working on right now but that's private for now, and I don't know if I will ever actually publish it, and I also have ideas for multiple future ones, including one where I'm going to reprise Jeff.)
I feel ya. The vast majority of Magic I've played in the last 18 months or so has been playtesting custom cards. I hope it's not making me out of touch!

BTW, the DCC will probably be up a little later than normal tonight. If anybody doesn't want to wait, they are free to post the thread at the standard time of 10pm to 11pm EST. If not, bravelion or I will get the thread up ASAP.
Last Acts 1W
Enchantment (U)
Whenever a creature you control dies, you may choose one -
• Tap target creature.
• Untap target creature.
Cathers know that any mission could be their last, but that in their deaths other may live.
Edit3: BTW, you forgot to vote today Indighost.

While the card is in fact different than Omnibian, I can't envision any real situations where the difference would come into play to your benefit. Of course I could just missing something obvious....I do that sometimes.
That means that tomorrow (January 2nd) will be a long day, with all of you having something like one day and a half to post your card.

Edit: It's more fun if you do post a card though. Come join the fun.
No, I'm not going to explain why I was gone; nobody needs to hear horror stories of what someone who's insane and lying can put you through legally.
I'm also probably not going to be coming back, mostly just due to lack of interest on my part. I will come by and check in every once in a while, though.
Have fun, guys.
(Probably NSFW) So you may have heard I'm trying to write a TV series...
