Congrats to Indighost on the win! I'm just happy I got to 30 points: Way more than I have gotten any time before.
I'd be very interested to hear what you guys think of Surge. It's creation was helped by a friend of mine because I was looking for an ability named Surge to use in that block with Monochormatic in it, to show off the fact that the world has potent mana (Which is also a bit of the fluff for Monochromatic: The mana sources from Plains etc are potent, so those who draw from a single source of color can draw even more power, and this has caused world divides). I am not sure it works as an ability word, because it references Surge, but was not sure how to word it Keyword-wise (Because it adds G if it is a Green spell, for example). I am also not sure how powerful it is or how well it plays.
Under the spoiler: The various forms this spell took before submission. It was called Perish the Thought until I remembered Rise of the Eldrazi already used that name.

Congrats to Indighost and to all the competitors! There are a lot of talented designers here.
@Ruki: Surge strikes me as one of those sort of dangerous mechanics that is either really weak or really strong without a lot of middle ground. I'd be tempted to say, rather than keyword this, just have a bunch of spells like this:
Greenie Growth2G
Instant
Target creature gets +3/+3 until end of turn.
Add GG to your mana pool.
Since you have Monochromatic, being able to wash mana like this is more interesting than usual (and makes 2-color decks more viable). This also lets you more easily tune each card, and there's no potential for abuse.
Hmmm. This seems like a reasonable idea and it would help ease power concerns, plus it makes it a bit less parasitic (Don't have to run Surge cards for it). Might have to go back to the drawing board for something named Surge, then, since I do wanna find something for that.
Congrats on the victory Indighost! Do I get some sorta finder's fee for peer pressuring you into joining? I'd gladly take 5 or so points added to my score last month.
Anyway, I have a lot going on this month (including a trip to Vegas!), so I intend to take the next month off of the DCC. (No more incessant posts in the discussion thread from me for awhile! Yeah!) Before that I have a few questions...Is it ok to vote from time to time without posting a card? Somebody did a couple of months ago, and I believe their votes were counted, so I assume so. Also, about my card yesterday, Transcendent Abbot, does the card work? I'm not entirely sure I know what this card affects, but I would like to make a card with the same basic idea. What I'm looking for is an ability that ignores things like Wrath of God, No Mercy, Honor of the Pure, etc. The idea originally stems from the Brotherhood of Ormos set I was posting cards from awhile back if anybody remembers that (the dystopian future with the work camps and search drones). I would like the rebels in the set that has an ability called Lawless that does the same thing. Would it be better if I just changed the ability to "Spells and activated abilities that do not target this creature have no affect on this creature"? Here's the card I'm talking about for reference.
Transcendent Abbot
Creature - Human Monk (M)
Flying, first Strike
Spells and effects that do not target Transcendent Abbot have no affect on Transcendent Abbot.

Yeah, it's fine. MajoraX has been doing so a few times over the last couple of months.
If they ever get the poll system fixed so that I can just see who voted for who (like we could under vBulletin) you wouldn't even have to post to vote.

Whenever a red source you control would deal damage to an opponent, you may pay 1R. If you do, it deals that much damage to each other opponent. "Let the fire sear my flesh, so long as my enemies burn with me."
So the card I made today was basically something for all the EDH players who want to run with a burn strategy. Wording was based off Hydra Omnivore.
Well, it would have to a least be a rare. It's extreme mana denial, costing them a turn and a land drop. It's passable, but maybe consider something like "Destroy target land. Until your next turn, spells cost that land's controller 1 more to cast."
The card's 6 mana, but I do kind of get your point. I figured it was fine because if you don't have any nonland noncreature cards in your Deck the ways you can abuse it seem more limited, especially since you just spent 6 mana. I figured it should cost more than 4 because it is a psuedo-Wrath with a draw/multiple draw on it, even if it can whiff.
I'm worst when it comes to designing lands, I feel, so if anyone has any thoughts on the power level of the card I posted today I'd love some feedback. Thank you very much!
I'm pretty happy with my card, Stormforger, today. As one may have guessed, it is based on Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor. It drops a Lightning Bolt every time you equip it, after all. I was a bit unsure on how to cost it or how much of a buff to give it, though, but I think it turned out alright. I might make a cycle of these colored equipment guys since I had an idea in mind for a pretty Black equipment.
So in an attempt to be helpful, I posted the DCC today for MDenham. It doesn't look as fancy, but hopefully everything that really matters is ok. I hope this is actually helpful and doesn't end up causing more work because everything is screwed up. I definitely suggest people check their scores. I apologize if anything is wrong, maybe I shouldn't try to do things I don't know how to do.
Edit: Shoot! I forgot to rearrange the leader board taking yesterday's votes into account. That has been fixed.
Edit2: So I'm dying to know if I've been a help or hindrance here. Anybody take look yet? Is the thread passable? I (or a mod) can delete/fix it if I missed something big right? I don't think I did, but now I'm a bit nervous about it. Particularly because I have some errands to run and won't be near a computer to fix things for a while if I need to.

Today's card (Arcadia) is an attempt at the borderland between "lands that don't produce mana" and "lands that still sort of fit into the current 'lands help mana production' design process".
Melanin was the leader of the White faction, the White Lotus. So here's Ly'kan, leader of the Black faction, the Black Rose. I went back and forth on a lot here, such as the stats, if I wanted him to return all creatures or just your own and the costing (I was worried about both over and undercosting).
Yesterday's keyword was inspired by the ongoing discussion about MOON-E's Sea set. I figured it would be an interesting twist on Settle (Doombringer's entry), though I don't know if granting all colors this sort of ramp is a good idea.
