How do you guys feel about the cost of the card I posted today:
Torpid Revival2UB
Sorcery (R)
Return each creature card in a graveyard to the battlefield tapped under its owner’s control. Those creatures don’t untap during their controllers’ next untap steps. It’s not easy to wake a beast from eternal slumber — in some cases, quite literally.
I was considering 1UB but it seems just a hair too small (self-mill can have ~2-4 creatures in the yard by turn 3).

Eh I mean Pyrrhic Revival is at 6...I'd say also needs more black.
I guess I don't get the point of them being tapped. That's what summoning sickness is for. Flavor, sure. But mechanically it seems tacked on.

i think the cost is fine, an effect that could cost 5, but it's multicolor so four is probably ok, especially since your opponents are going to swing first out of this (their grave summons will untap first, while yours are still tapped).
Twilight's Call has the option to be instant, and even if it's cast at sorcery speed at least you're able to block. not being able to block the first time is kinda a feel bad situation for the caster. but if it's combo'd with Quicken or Leyline of Anticipation that could be turned around
I also think the cost is fine, and second everything Rudyard said above. Also, I like the flavor. Torpid means sluggish, lethargic, etc. The tapped creatures represent them being slow to awaken. It's also a big part of the reason the card can cost 4, since, as Rudyard said, they get to untap with their creatures first (not that you'd want to cast it in it situation where that would matter).
Edit: Indighost, I hope you don't mind me messing with a bit (with my place holder card I mean). I really like the Vibrant ability! I think I remember seeing it before, in the ABC post or something.

Interesting input... I'll just say for the UB cost that there's a precedent in, for example, Havengul Lich - the vast majority of that card is and effect black, with a minor Johnny bit tacked on for blue, but Wiz said balanced mana cost was fine. I see this the same way - "doesn't untap during next untap step" is blue.
As for costing it up to six: Nope. You might as well just be playing Living Death because you get a bonus boardwipe out of that, plus no waiting. This is more of a combo card than a reanimator card - five is the most I'd consider putting it at.
Also thanks for pointing out Twilight's Call, I'm editing the wording to that one. Much nicer.
I really like aftermarketradio's spider ability. Spider's should totally do this! Its one of those things that's so obvious, it seems like it must've been done before, but, all I could find on the internet are 3 white cards with this ability. Anyway, the card isn't super-awesome or anything (it's a common), but spiders should totally do that. It actually makes at least as much sense as reach.

Flatline, on your card today - I know Mind Rot isn't blowing it out of the water, but I'm having trouble mentally justifying an instant-speed usually-better Mind Rot as being a fair card. Instant speed discard probably can't be fairly costed without it being unfair.

Am I missing something with it? As I understand it, it can basically just can block two creatures per turn in an odd way.
Oh I'm not saying it's super-powered, I just like the flavor of it. It feels like spiders should have the ability.

Thanks, man. I like trying to move the color pie around in flavorful ways, and the "tap to declare blocked" is am old ability that I think could come back for spiders. I play a lot of limited, and while reach is cool, it makes spiders a too one-dimensional. They have webs, too, so they should use them!

I see what you're saying, I just have a hard time with it. I reject the idea that instant discard can't exist. I actually discussed this card with someone who's opinion I trust when it comes to card evaluation, and he kept come back to the instant thing too. That, and how much it screwed over Brainstorm type effects. I eventually convinced him that this card, while strong, is not broken, although it took some doing. The basic thought line is, if they're not trying to do something powerful (draw cards), it's basically just an instant, rare Mind Rot. Also, its not like Brainstorm isn't totally ridiculous. So what if my 3 drop rare hates on your 1 drop common? In situations where they're getting a ton of card advantage (think Sphinx's Revelation), it just makes them go back to where they started plus a little bit extra for trying to be greedy.
Edit: I don't usually get to run my cards by anyone before posting them. My Magic friends aren't really into the CCC thing, and aren't the greatest card evaluators anyway. Also, I actually got to play a little Magic tonight (I don't get to much these days), and I played my old Warped Devotion deck, that has Recoil in it. Instant discard is fun!
Oh I'm not saying it's super-powered, I just like the flavor of it. It feels like spiders should have the ability.
Is Spiders blocking two creatures all that flavorful? I guess if it's flavored as them catching creatures in their web, yeah, hmm.
It's the web idea. This is the first card since I've started to participate in the DCC, that I've gone onto the internet to verify that something like it didn't already exist. It just seems so natural. That pretty much sums up why I voted for it. Maybe I'm weird.

Nah, you're not really weird, I just didn't think of the web flavor until that post. That actually is pretty cool, though it looks kinda awkward in text. I certainly do want to see Spiders do more than just Reach, at least.
I would think the problem with instant speed discard is using it after they draw to just keep their hand down to 1/0 and not let them get back into the game, wouldn't it?

Curtain of Light, Trap Runner It's been done, it just hasn't been done much, and I just think it makes more sense on spiders.
As far as the discard question goes...I suppose you could cast it to keep their hand at zero for one turn. Although, if they drew an instant, they would get a chance to respond. So it wouldn't even be guaranteed lock out for a turn.
Edit: Also, I really like the double entendre of Hand Slap. I feel like it would loose a lot of flavor if it weren't an instant (power too of course).

Is the line "The hex is removed if this creature leaves play" correct in my post today? This ability is from the Return to Innistrad - Deception set I made, and I've been wondering the whole time if that's all that needs to be said. There are multiple Witches that put hex enchantment tokens into play in the set, so when I made it, I was just figuring the block would have a rule added that said something like..."Whenever a creature you control leaves the battlefield, exile all hex enchantment tokens put onto the battlefield by that creature". Any help would be appreciated, I have a bunch of cards with this ability on them, I'd at least like it to read correctly.
Edit: By the way...For the record, the flavor text on my Phoenix can be attributed to Jaya Ballard. I think I'll go back and revise that now. From his day forward, all red cards I create will quote Jaya Ballard in the flavor text. I figure Rudyard needs more than 22 cards to choose from for his JBTM.dec.

Today's submission is an exploration of pretty much every piece of dead-end design space that exists, aside from N (because I couldn't think of a good way to include it).
I was considering 1UB but it seems just a hair too small (self-mill can have ~2-4 creatures in the yard by turn 3).
