To be fair, Premature Burial is one of the worst black removal spells in the game. It's worse than Doom Blade which is relatively fair, in like fifty different ways.
I reckon it's fair. The only card that's in the same league as it (and isn't stupid weak like Burial) is Essence Scatter though.
Oh man, MDenham, your card would have been absolutely perfect had the creature dealt damage equal to its power.
This.
Meanwhile, I appreciate the sentiment of gumOnShoe's effort to give the hybrid-rare-retrace cycle its missing member, but that much removal that can be recurred is just nutty.

It originally did. For balance reasons, I just made it a flat amount of damage instead. (It went through a phase where it had multikicker and the ugly phrase "target creature with power less than or equal to the number of times Backstab was kicked", in an attempt to keep the original mana cost of 3BB intact. Then I decided that was just a disgusting targeting restriction.)
What's the stance on reusing a card? Say, if someone posted the same card April 4, 5, and 6?
What if the card had very minor changes?
What's the stance on posting a card in a non-contest thread, then using it here? What if it's used in another contest?
Reposting from another DCC is frowned upon, but the second one is normally fine. I occasionally post ideas from other places here after brushing them up or for gauging a card for another contest.
OK, just probing the morality of the action, trying to figure if I should for a day when I'm all out of inspiration.
It's a nice thing that I can use cards from elsewhere...
Eh, sort of. If it's a blatant copy, someone will call them out on it.
Assuming that the creature's supposed to be returned under your control (note to everyone: when you say "return X to the battlefield", you need to specify who gets control of it), then his card is to Otherworldly Journey what Cloudshift is to Flicker... and that's different enough for me. (The miswording is enough to get me to not vote for it.)
MDenham, regarding your "extra exile zone", the "Fiend of the Shadows" card kinda does that already. When she deals damage, opponent exiles a card, but any cards exiled can be played by the controller of the Fiend, so they can't be exiled with other "normal" exiled cards...

Fun with exile!
If you actually pay attention to how the card works, what happens is cards are moved into your storage zone and remain in the same order as they were in when they were in your library. Since you're not allowed to reorder (or look at) cards in your storage zone unless a specific card says otherwise, it's more like an alternate library than an additional exile zone.
This happens to be why it doesn't just exile the cards, face-down or otherwise - you're allowed to freely order the cards in exile as desired, like you could with your graveyard way back in the day before cards that cared about graveyard order were printed. Rather than implementing a similar rule for exile, which is a pain in the neck and conflicts with existing rules for exile anyway, I went with an additional zone that has most of the properties of the library (aside from that you don't draw from it).
(The whole card is kind of a "hey, remember Windows 3.1" joke anyway - you're effectively "swapping out" parts of your "memory", and when you need to get the swapped-out part back, it takes a long-ass time.)

Understood, I just wanted to note that there are other "additional" exile zones already in the game, so I don't think that would be a gamebreaker.
Speaking of GY order... I'm glad I don't play anyone that worries about that while I'm playing my RUG self-mill deck (what with counting creatures, finding flashbacks, exiling lands with Lavamancer...)
Didn't expect this when I came in here, and now I feel awkward. btw what's "classically good" supposed to mean?
KoolKoal's card is just so... I mean, flavourwise, that's pretty awesome, but... I don't think a card should ever, ever, ever have the phrase "state-based effects" written on it, especially not in the rules text. It's the only way of actually getting this really cool thing to work... but then I think that says something about whether or not this 'really cool thing' should be done. Seriously, putting a phrase which a good two thirds of the player base have literally never heard of (I mean, if 'stack' is bad enough...)... It's so clunky is all. :\

It's not the only way to get it to work - the alternative is "The next time the stack is empty, do X." Once that trigger goes off, you're guaranteed that there's been at least one check of state-based effects. (It's not strictly equivalent, though; you'd need the triggered ability to effectively have split second to do that.)
Granted, that's still ugly... and I'll be the first to say that I voted for KK's card mostly as a joke (and partly because there wasn't really any other good choice of second vote in my opinion).
Shhh, just let me use fancy phrases for no reason so I seem like a big shot :sneaky:. EDIT: I suppose I could actually explain this though... I just mean the wording of the text feels clunky to me, but the message behind it is so good I like it regardless.
As for my card, I couldn't think of anything good yet simple, so I threw that goal out. Far, far out ;).

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.
I'm surprised everyone liked that card. To me, it somewhat reads "Ignore everything that happened this game. Find a big monster in your deck and fight (and since you're red/green, you probably have the bigger monster)."
It also doesn't state what happens if one deck has no creatures. And since lands don't get exiled, can you use a burn spell to get the other creature to die?
I'm going to put the thread up slightly earlier (read: here in a few minutes) today because (1) it's long and (2) I'm probably going to be running errands in a couple of hours.
And now back to our regularly scheduled contest.

Is it legal in this game to post an exsisting card, beacuse that card I posted is pretty much boros' card for today.

I'm not sure the flavor on his card being voted on today is "classically good" really, I think the story it implies is great though.
