It amuses me how "stapled" cards typically do very well in these contests. My card was literally Innocent Blood and Wildwood Rebirth stapled together.
Oh Sorin.
I really liked your card. It feels like what green black decks wanted to do, especially in modern cube design. It has the feel of succession and old power that I look for in green black cards I design.
@Ink-Treader: I quite like Decadence, but I wonder if the wording could be cleaned up. As written right now, it seems unclear if the opponent has to control both more artifacts and more enchantments than you, or if its more combined cards of those types (Ex: if I have 1 artifact and 0 enchantments, and my opponent has 1 artifact and 2 enchantments, do I get a Decadence bonus?).
I was concerned the wording might be unclear like that. The answer is yes, as the intent was that they have a higher total. Perhaps the wording should be "if an opponent has a higher total (number?) of artifacts and enchantments than you, X"

What I didn't like was the ability's name. "Decadence" as an ability name seems to be a quality your cards have, when in reality is a quality that the opponent's game state may have, triggering your cards in reaction. I think it needed a name like "envy" which is what your creatures actually have.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

That came to my mind too... but it's such a nice word...
Ergh... What the heck!? It's eight in the morning here in Argentina, and I bet it's around 4/5 in a big part of the states... Why was put up the DCC so early!? I usually fill my holder at this time, now I've missed the day.
The most tragicomic part of this is that I'm in the poll with no entry at all.
EDIT: In case it is possible (and since I'm there in the poll), I would like this card to be added:
Immolation Chief1R
Creature – Goblin Shaman R
Haste

Today is ridiculous already. The thread should not go up that early when it has been regularly going up between 9:45 and 10:00 AM, Pacific time, for the last I don't know how many months.
In the future, if someone would like to post the thread and I haven't already asked for assistance, just freakin' ask me first. I'll probably okay it, but I'll ask you to try and keep to the normal schedule so we don't run into weirdly short/long days.
I was fine but not particularly excited by your card. It was pretty utilitarian; think Murder, works where it needs to work, but not super interesting or thought provoking.
Oh, lol, I was actually more focusing on the name, and idk, do the abilities give you an idea of what's going on?
Also, I-T, I thought your tutor was comedic, with backup planning a backup plan for something with cmc 3, but it was too difficult to understand. I had to read it three times and even now, I'm not sure why it takes exile into account.

Fair point. It takes exile into account because even the epicly failed backup plans deserve backup plans. In all serious though, I love complexity too much, heh. But I'm glad it at least is amusing.
And yeah, Form of the Castle is neat, but it (incoming hypocrisy) feels like it's trying to do too much.
Well, I'm turning Form of the Dragon into a cycle. The format I'm using is "one life-total-setting ability", "one ability that does something", and "one defensive ability". Castle was supposed to constantly be turning out refugees or personnel, while offering them excellent defense at the same time. [Form of the Cockroach was my personal favorite, as it broke the cycle in an interesting way, and essentially turned you into a brood of cockroaches. I think Form of the Octopus was the most powerful, as, given enough turns, it outright wins you the game. Form of the Grove presents an entirely different strategy than the others, and also presents the best defense out of all of them.]

Yeah I've noticed some of my favourite streamlined LD ideas always tank to my surprise on here with the exception of my pox guy and my ghostquarter guy.
If I want to win maybe I should quit it, but I like the idea of land destruction and interaction so much for cube and for future sets and where else am I going to poop them all?
Frontline Chaplain2W
Creature-- Human Cleric Soldier (C)
Vigilance Inspire-- Whenever Frontline Chaplain attacks, creatures you control get +0/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of attacking creatures you control.

The card I posted today is probably not printable outside of an online format, just because it's kind of confusing on initial read (but then, so is Volrath's Shapeshifter).
Notes:
If you exile an Aura with a different "enchant X" clause from your target, the target will fall off unless the exiled Aura could also legally enchant the same permanent.
Requiring the types to match does not mean the subtypes have to match as well. This actually doesn't cause any problems outside of when either the target or the exiled card have an animation ability that hasn't been activated. (In the case of an Aura + an enchantment that can be animated, either by trigger or by activated ability, animating the result will force it into the graveyard because creatures can't be attached to anything; they can only have things attached to them.)

Players play with the top card of their library revealed.
Whenever a player would draw a card he or she must first discard a card with converted mana cost equal to or greater than the converted mana cost of the top card of their library, otherwise skip that draw and they put the top card of their library into the graveyard instead.
blegh horrible wording, any tips or is it ok?
Here's how WotC would write it:
Each player plays with the top card of his or her library revealed.
If a player would draw a card, that player may discard a card with converted mana cost greater than or equal to that card's converted mana cost. If that player doesn't, he or she puts that card into his or her graveyard instead.

I think it's a little too swingy on the spectrum between situations where it's busted and situations where it's garbage but I love it.
