I'm not 100% sure that I follow the colour requirement for the current challenge - my reading of it would allow the monocolour cycle I currently have, correct? Or do my cards need to be a minimum of two colours?

Been busy for the last few days, sorry I didn't see that he hadn't checked in. I would really rather not run the CCL again this month, anyone who is available and wants to run this month can begin the October CCL. I'll get it going in a couple of days if there are no takers and Balefire doesn't show up.
Erimety, Cypher28, Balefire, Prophy, anybody is fine, if you need help with scoring I can handle that but I'm out of interesting challenges for the moment. Whoever gets to it, just post a thread with the tag and get Round 1 going.
I don't really like the idea of a duel decks challenge. Mainly because the primary trait of a duel deck pair is their relative power. How do you determine that when the two people making them are in competition.

Check out the thread for my cube if you have the time, and tell me how terrible it is.
Generals meant to be drafted first in a single pack of 6 cards.
And here is the actual cube, meant to be drafted in 4 regular sized packs. (60 card decks)
The intent is to let the players showcase the cards and themes they have developed so far and highlight their interactions with existing cards. Nobody is actually going to play these decks against each other. Our job here is design, not development, so I expect people to vote for the duel decks based on what themes they like and how innovative the designs are, not based on hours of intensive playtesting.
I suppose. Also: I have plenty of ideas for CCL month concepts, but I have the odd suspicion that no one wants me to host anything in CCC&C ever again.

No problem about hosting, I can provide backup like scoring and schedule bumps, I'd just like someone else to be the creative impetus. Please go ahead and post a round 1 or at least PM me a plan if you've got one.
There's still one hour right now; I'm going to look and see how many people have put stuff up, because I think I may need to give a one-day extension anyway. So I'm not going to accept your drop yet. :-D
You may have to. I can fairly positively guarantee that I'm not going to be online again in time to work with someone else to submit something in the next 12-24 hours (unless I get bizarrely lucky and randomly log on at the same time as that person when I get home from work tomorrow).
Ah. Sorry about the timing issues, then. I'm about ready to apply a nuclear-powered size 13 steel-toed boot to the rears of at least three people who seem to think that the purpose of the PM system is to provide things to ignore.
Re: judging on how well the card mirrors the other member of the pair: This is a good idea and is highly recommended for everyone, but if you choose not to, well, that's your decision.
Note: since these are supposed to be mirrored pairs, "each card hoses the other" is a valid design decision. Blue/Red Elemental Blast are a mirrored pair as well (just not of creatures)...
Yeah I forgot to cross-promote the final poll this month, I try to do that sometimes.
If we were going to radically redesign the CCL, we could try a multi-choice poll where it looks something like this:
Team A (Players 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 should vote here):
Player 1
Player 2
Player 3
Player 4
Team B (Players 1, 2, 3, and 4 should vote here):
Player 5
Player 6
Player 7
Player 8
etc...
and the idea would be that instead of a Top 3 you just vote for any number of cards that you like (1 or more), and maybe you get an additional vote or 2 on your own score for providing critiques.
Yeah, I'm aware of that. That's why I didn't say that the card was bad, but rather, that personally I thought it fulfilled the challenge less satisfactorily than the other two cards.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.
Righto! Now back from the sunny Pacific Northwest. Should be able to actually focus on making cards again for something more complex than the DCC. Should have something up tomorrow morning at the latest.
As far as "what do we do about late Top3s once we've cut to Top 8 or later": not much of anything, really. Especially in situations like this month, where two people were late.
I mean, I could have just cut straight to Top 2 on the grounds that those two people were the only ones who'd received all three crits and were guaranteed to advance (the other two people who'd received three crits were guaranteed to be in 5th or worse), or I could have gone with "assuming Top 3s are assigned at random, these two people are most likely to advance" or "everyone gets assigned 2nd place in all outstanding rankings" (both of which would have given the same results).
In the interests of fairness, I instead chose to assume that the situation would sort itself out while I was asleep. (And it did.)

I tend to be a bit more laid-back about that sort of thing, but in exchange I tend to blow up the PM inboxes of people who are slacking off.
