Some of you may have picked up on it, IDK, but if you critique my round 2 stuff, ONLY CRITIQUE THE FIRST SCATTER FORM. The second one was an idea thingy that I forgot to delete. I've deleted the second one now, but yeah. Don't critique that one.

The signup thread for April's CCL will be going up at midnight Pacific time tonight. (Yes, people will have a full week to get their signups in. Think very carefully about your entries.)
Also, people should start volunteering to run the next few months here. I'm going to keep with my current pattern of every four months and call August as my next month.

I'll be gone for a week in May for work, but if need be, I can put one together. June/July are out for me, I'm running the Mechanic Creator's Contest in September, so the next available for me would be October, which is crazy far away.
If you're willing to put the CCL in the hands of a maniac for a month, I'm keen to run the next month that's free.
Possibly with unreliable Italian backup in the form of avatarz, so make that "pair of maniacs".
Considering that both yewlas and KoolKoal are both in a "May works, but June/July won't (or might not)", how about having the two of them run May together (design their theme together, KK covers when yewlas isn't available) and giving CC June?

Provided everyone else is cool with it, KK is game and we can find some chat time to plan, I find this agreeable.
In terms of colourless, is a card acceptable if it grants a colour to itself through its ability? I'm just wondering whether my card can include itself in its colour-changing ability. Its colour identity is still colourless, technically.

Nope. You can pull a Ghostfire and have it be colorless despite costing colored mana, but if it can make itself colored, that just doesn't work.
I would like to request that each CCL round contains prominent links to all previous rounds that month. This is a great help for players making submissions, since they should spoiler their previous cards so we can see the theme developing, and it is necessary for obvious reasons if the critique threads are separated from submissions, which I'm not a huge fan of.
We can see how this team structure works out for sure, but there do seem to be risks associated with all the people on one team dropping, and it also seems like it increases the impact of random team distribution. For example, a small team could consist of three players who would not make the cut to Top 8 in a four-team system, or the reverse with a number of high scoring players on the same team. Of course this is also possible to an extent with four teams, but it seems exacerbated by smaller teams.
In addition, the critiquing of multiple teams at once makes it theoretically possible that a team could receive no critiquing points at all during the first 3 rounds, making it possible to win with very small margins.
I certainly have no problem with testing out new configurations and seeking to improve the CCL, but these are the issues I will have my eye on when considering this month's setup. Please let me know if there are other advantages or disadvantages I have not seen.
If it makes anyone feel better, August will be set up more traditionally, to make up for the last two I've run having somewhat nonstandard setups (December: 5 teams; this one: 8 teams + overlapped entries and critiques in an attempt to reduce drops).
EDIT: April Round 1 is now in critique mode; you've got 72 hours for that. In addition, Round 2 has begun. (Round 3, and Round 2's critiques, will begin on the 9th; Round 3's critiques will begin on the 13th. Then we'll be back to a slightly more normal schedule, with a week per round after that point.)
1) It's a little easier for me if your top 3 mentions whose cards they are. (The links were okay this time because I can follow them through, but if something happens and I - or whoever's organizing the current month - end up being massively short on time, it's just faster to look at names.)
2) You're passing up a free point by not doing critiques. They don't have to be long - I prefer (and normally do, unless I'm trying to elicit discussion) a 20-40 word critique per entry - so not doing critiques is usually quick, easy points.
Speaking of short critiques: I'm giving Egak's a pass this round, but for the remainder of this month (and in the future on months I run), if you're not going to do at least fifteen words per card (as an average between all of your critiques - sometimes a card just deserves a critique that's just "What in hell is this?"), I'm going to count it as not having been done at all. If you can't find the 15-30 minutes to come up with around a hundred words...
*ahem*
Theme to the round names : R.E.M songs by the look of it.
That is all
Ding!
(And in another R.E.M. reference, the month's subtitle - In Time - is one of their best-of albums. Every round's title - except Round 1's, which I just had to use anyway - is a song on that album.)
Can someone who's more probably more rules-knowledgeable than me please check my Round 2 card and see if the wording is correct? If so, thanks in advance.
Also, I'm assuming we can only have a "Creature - Incarnation" card and not a "Creature - (Type) Incarnation", correct?
