Devotion is one of my favorite mechanics. Having played the game competitively for a few years now, I think Magic has a dearth of mechanics that reward going 1 color. Some of this also has to do with there being a dearth of powerful cards that require your deck to be nearly mono-color. Splashy cards that require 3 of any one color are rare nowadays - Wizards often places tons of power in card that either require 2 of a color or require multiple colors. Archangel of Tithes and Titan of Erebos are the lone exceptions since Theros block. This is one of the reasons why I decided to design the charm cycle I've been doing over in the DCC.
I suspect that the reason Wizards doesn't make many of these sorts of cards is that decks in most limited formats would have trouble casting them. Limited mana bases are inconsistent enough as it is. The trick would be to make mana fixing in limited work in such a way that it encouraged 2 color decks with steeper single color mana requirements instead of encouraging people to splash everything they could for a 3 or 4 color deck. I see a few avenues to make it work, which would lead to novel draft experiences, but that's for another day

The main problem with devotion mechanic is symbol counting and checking. It kinda ok when it comes to simple spells like Aspect of Hydra, it more complex when it comes to Gods, even harder when it comes to multicolored Gods and, I guess, it will be more complex with multiple enchantments and enchanted creatures, especially in multiple colors. I just can't see it being easy and friendly for players.
Maybe it means that players in my playgroup aren't so smart but we have this sort of problem anytime when it comes to devotion.
Devotion has some developmental issues, apparently. Which does not mean it's not coming back. Very much the opposite. It's a 5 on the Storm Scale, meaning that "We need to find the right place to bring it back, but I'm optimistic". Source is here: http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/143385993333/was-devotion-in-theros-block-a-well-received
Imo developmental problems are hardly going to affect planes. That's just laughable.

Devoid, on the other hand, is not interesting. I like the C stuff from OGW, but Devoid, intrinsically, doesn't make sense. Why should a colorless spell cost colored mana? It's not repulsive to me, but the only reason to put it into a set is to increase the colorless count for other synergies. I'd rather mechanics have their own flavor (like Embalm).

Seems like you mistook Devoid with Devotion.
I liked old Ghostfire a lot, but it was a time when color was something (color-oriented spells, fear and intimidate, etc...)

That was a typo on my part. I meant Devotion.

As doomfish has pointed out, the main concern devotion had was developmental since its effects can be swingy at times. Your concern about the complexity of counting devotion is not something generally accepted. In fact, Maro says it would be a decent mechanic for beginners since it's core ideas are simple enough. Devotion was the most popular mechanic from Theros and will likely make a return, so your attitude towards it seems more personal than objective.
That said, my main concern with my plane design this round was that it was too complex, so I'm not surprised by your criticism. I strongly considered just flat out granting indestructible to enchantments and enchanted creatures and not using devotion at all, but I feared that was a hair too powerful even for planechase. I just feel it's important to point out that your view on the inherent complexity of devotion is your own.
scrad_the_wanderer: You have critiqued the wrong contestants in round 2.
In the future, I'd advise not to switch the order in which we have to read the list. First round below, second round above is guaranteed to cause confusion. Just switch the list of names next time.

It's actually been done this way for quite a while and is the easiest way to make sure everyone critiques a different set of people each time. Experienced CCL players should know how it's done and inexperienced ones should be paying very close attention to the rules anyway.

But if you just turn the list on its head in the second round players don't have to pay attention. That's arguably better. You can just always judge the people below you.

I didn't get to provide feedback on these, but I thought they were really cool and well-executed designs so just wanted to give them a shoutout.
Wildbold's Diplomatic Endeavors card struck me as ingenious because fogging when you're the monarch is exactly what you want to do so you can maintain your grip on the kingdom. I really liked that card, both from a flavor perspective and from a gameplay perspective. This card and Doomfish's Barduk were my 2 favorite cards of the first two rounds.
I also liked Raptorchan's Round 1 submission. A fun card that adds a little spicy chaos to a multiplayer game.
Kudos to both of you!

hi, i just wondering where can i get reference on Archenemy card about Hero and Underdogs ?
There have never been original cards for Archenemy before (besides schemes). As the clarification said, you can make any card you want that has a hero-like flavor (and that has CMC 3 or less).
...Since when?
