I PMed Gerrard's Mom about taking over the September CCL, and he was so kind as to offer to his help. He said he should be able to get around to posting the last round tomorrow, 11/8/15, so if anybody hasn't judged that would still like to, I advise you get them in today. A huge thank you to Gerrard's Mom for helping us finally put this thing to rest!

A dilemma arose during the judging of the 3rd round as we have a 3-way tie for the last seat at the semifinals. How do we solve that? Postponing the start of the round to tomorrow until we solve this.
Alright, that is time in the judging round. I apologize for the slight delay (it's definitely the 22nd at some parts of the world right now). Without further ado - the scores are:
Jimmy Groove - 44/108
willows - 42/108 (receiving perfect score this round, by the way - congrats!)
Moss_Elemental - 34/108
Flatline and Hemlock - 30/108
netn10, Asrama and RickyRister - 26/108
Koopa - 25/108
Solesticio and Ink-Treader - 24/108
glurman - 22/108
RaikouRider - 17/108
EpiCycle1 - 13/108
GameWorldLeader - 9/108
ArchSinccubus, mana and Forestsguy - 4/108
As you can see, we run into a bit of a problem: while our top four scorers give us five semifinalists, there is actually a three-way tie for the fourth place - netn10, Asrama and RickyRister. I'm inclined to give netn10 a seat, for actually participating in this round; however, Asrama expressed interest in participating in the round and posted about missing the deadline. How do you propose we solve this problem? I'm postponing the semifinal's beginning to tomorrow and adjusting the schedule accordingly. Please post your thoughts on this tie in the CCL discussion thread (and do tell me if there is a conventional mean to solve this type of problem).
For the last three month at least, we had 3 free-for-entry rounds, followed by a 6-people semifinals and then a 3-people finals. It was on the schedule, which I copied from GameWorldLeader's October CCL.

@Flatline - based on Mark Rosewater's blog, he doesn't count un-legends when looking at the creature types and which don't have legends yet, so my guess is no. In other words, there isn't technically a legendary Elephant in the game.

I would like to add to Flatline's response to Jimmy Groove's critiques; I forgot to specify, but using more than one creature type is totally acceptable, even if one of them already has a Legend - the intention is to make a legendary creature for a tribe, and if that tribe generally has "class" types (like Soldier, Wizard etc.) you can totally use them.
Thank you to Todris052 for answering my question. Now that I know the answer to this, I can have my judgments up shortly.
I feel like people are missing the point of the untap ability of my card. Originally, the design looked like this....
Balathar, Loxodon Champiion
Legendary Creature - Elephant Soldier
Vigilance, lifelink
, : Chooose target creature that dealt damage to you this turn. Balathar, Loxodon Champion fights that creature.
4/5
The problem I had with this card was, it is a complete house against weenie style decks since it could block a 2/2 (gaining 4 life), then tap to fight another 2/2 (gaining another 4 life). That means that on its own, it could potentially kill 2 small creatures, and gain you 8 life a turn (not to mention 4 more if it attacked), although it would be more likely that it holds off the entire hoard of small creatures unless your opponent has a critical mass of them. This can't happen with the untap version. I also felt that the untap version was much more flavorful. No matter where Balathar is, or what he is doing, he is always ready to come running if the need arises for him to fight. I don't say any of this with the hope of changing anybody's mind, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on the card, which could very well be wrong.
BTW, @ Asrama....I'm not sure how the untap ability is anti-synergistic unless you're playing a multi-player game. I was hoping you might elaborate on this so I know what it is I'm missing. I really like idea behind this design, and would like to fix it if needed.

The untap ability is something that would give your creature pseudo-vigilance, so you want it to do something that will also allow the creature to block afterwards. Your ability will work after damages, usually after combat, so you'll be missing out on one of the major advantages of the untap mechanic. Unless your at a multiplayer table, where you can fight one turn and have a blocker on the next.
I see what you're saying Asrama, but honestly, I added the untap for the exact reason you're referring to, but for the opposite affect, to tone the card down a bit. I didn't want this to be able to both block a creature and fight a creature in the same turn. For all intents and purposes, this basically "blocks" any creature with power 4 or less even if this is tapped, and even if the other creature is unblockable or has flying. I really like how this works flavor-wise, and also how it subtly gives Balathar pseudo-vigilance and pseudo-reach, both of which are iconic abilities in Balathar's colors. Anyway, thanks for the response and the discussion, it is appreciated.
Edit: Balathar's subtle interactions and their ramifications give my inner-Melvin a chubby, which is why I wanted to discuss it, but I probably should have waited until all judgments were in. Sorry.
Edit2: BTW, I'm perfectly willing to accept that I am crazy here. Everyone seems to have the same thoughts on the card.

Hi, guys, I have a situation I would like to share with you.
I reached Todris about the outcome of the semifinals. I was quite sure i was getting past as i got the third highest score in the round. Todris explained to me that he was adding the score from the semifinals to the total score of the three first rounds, I told him that traditionally scores were reset for the semifinals. I'd like to know what do you guys think about this situation, as a part of me feels I should try to get this fixed and the other that it should be just left.
There don't seem to be any set rules followed from CCL to CCL, but I too always thought that the scores reset after the first three rounds. That said, it seems like it is basically up to each individual host as to how they want to run things, so ultimately, I suppose it's up to Todris052.

I am sorry, but I still feel like I made the right call. I apologize if I moved from a tradition, but I'm not going to change it. Had I realized that was the case, I would've made it clear from the beginning that I'm going to do it this way.

Also, did anyone volunteer to run CCL next month?
Everyone remember to vote in the September finals to wrap that up.
Edit: Can anybody tell me how to make the untap symbol?

That said, it is a host's prerogative to change or bend the rules as they see fit, and Todris should have the final say.
