Just say you volunteer before someone else and it's yours. But if there's going to be any issues such as unavailability, I would not recommend volunteering.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."
Probably not this month but possibly one in the future. I just wanted to know. So the only thing I have to do is be dumb enough to volunteer? Sounds good to me.
If you're wondering why Harvest Bonecrow has "put into a graveyard from play", it is because that's the wording Shadowmoor etc used, so I thought it would be neat to use it. I hope being 4 hours late isn't a problem, since it was before the threadmaker said it closed.
@ Bravelion: Thanks for the critique! I didn't use the old wording for play on Harvest Bonecrow because it was 4 AM and I was worried it would close beforehand, so I didn't double check the wording, though of course that doesn't make it better. To be honest I'm not a big fan of either of my cards, which is probably because I only really knew anything about MTG around Scars of Mirrodin and got into it at all around Innistrad, so my knowledge of Lorwyn/Shadowmoor is quite limited (Which even if it doesn't directly affect some issues hurts how I actually make the cards due to unfamiliarity). Naturally none of this makes mistakes better, but I felt I would explain why I myself am dissatisfied with my cards.
EDIT: I will say the thing I was probably most happy with was Harvest Bonecrow's flavor text, though, which is entirely why I made a Scarecrow in the first place. (That and I do like Shadowlord's idea, but it has a lot of issues with how it is now.)

I'm very glad you took it the right way! It seriously worried me that I could have been misunderstood, but luckily you understood the spirit with which I was writing. I just like to be honest and I prefer to say what I actually think than being afraid to speak because of fear. I think it's the good attitude to use everywhere: here and in real life too. My grandmother used to say "you're never wrong in being honest", and that's the best teaching she left me.
By the way, in my critique I forgot to mention that Harvest Bonecrow should be an artifact creature (now it's just a creature and not an artifact), but there was so much going on that it just escaped me. I agree that the best thing about your card as it is now is the flavor text. About Shadowlord, if you fix the wording and clarify which cost is reduced and until when (I still don't understand that), it should be fine. For sure, I have to say that the idea is quite original.
Finally, I want you to know that I share your problem of not knowing well the sets before you started playing, so I perfectly understand your difficulty. I started playing in october 2005, when the original Ravnica was the most recent set. I know Kamigawa since it was in standard back then, but don't ask me anything about Onslaught or before excluding maybe the main mechanics. In fact, one of the many reasons why I absolutely loved Time Spiral block despite being a new player is that it let me know a lot about Magic's past. If it wasn't for that block I probably would know nothing about many old mechanics.

It was supposed to reduce costs until the end of the turn and to reduce the creature's Prowl cost.
In that case, I think something like this should work as you intend (like for flashback in Catalyst Stone):
When ~ enters the battlefield, if its prowl cost was paid, prowl costs you pay cost 1 less until end of turn.
Each creature card in your hand that shares a creature type with a creature you control has prowl. The prowl cost is equal to its mana cost minus 1.
Now that I've understood the idea, I actually like it much more and it's quite original.

Y'know, I was originally going to have Guardian return the creature with a +1/+1 counter, but I was hung up over whether or not this version of Shadowmoore would be using +1/+1 or -1/-1 counter mechanics.
All right, after three long, hard-fought rounds, only eight planeswalkers still remain:
And speaking of planeswalkers, the Top 8 round is posted...
Why do I see two top 8 threads in the CCCG forum? I posted in the one linked in the quote, I hope it's the right one.

Whoops, I forgot to judge this time around before the deadline. Oh well. Looks like that really weak last round got me. (I got 92 total, so only 6 off Mikaeus.)
After some consideration, I think I'm going to have to pass this month. I was prepared to do it, but when it came down to it, I just couldn't make my ideas for challenges gel. I'd been mulling it over for the past few days but anything I can think of was just either too cliched or didn't have enough thematic design space to carry me through the month. My apologies.
What the hell. It may be kind of an unoriginal challenge, but I went ahead and did it. Not gonna lie, I'm more than a little nervous about this, but nothing ventured, right?
I made the timeline a little tighter than usual because I'll be unavailable for most of the 8th, but aside from that, I shouldn't have any commitments that would prevent me from plowing on.
Here goes nothing, and my apologies if this turns out to be the worst CCL ever.
I like the challenge so far Crono, one question though. Does it have to be a flip card? I didn't get that from my initial reading but wanted to make sure after seeing the first couple entries.

Truth is, it's not that hard, it's just posting challenges and crunching numbers.

First two abilities mirror cards with Serra in their name, which is a nice bit of flavor tie-in. The fact that the ultimate is basically Ajani's is not really my cup of tea; I would rather have something more original. Also, perfect(yet missed) opportunity to have a Worship-like emblem.
Thanks for your critique. You are the second to point out (and rightfully so) that the ultimate is practically Ajani's one. When I designed the card I completely forgot about Ajani, and think that he's even my favorite planeswalker! I also made a search for cards with Serra in the name (that's where the first two abilities come from, as you noticed) but I didn't think to make a search for her name in flavor text too, and I never played with or against Worship, so I didn't think about it at all. I liked the idea of putting "You have hexproof" in an emblem, but now that you mentioned it, I can see that a Worship emblem really makes a whole lot of sense here. Now, I totally wish I had used that as ultimate.

+1: Up to one target creature gets +2/+2 and gains flying and vigilance until end of turn.
-3: Put a 4/4 white Angel creature token with flying and vigilance named Serra Angel onto the battlefield.
-9: You get an emblem with “If you control a creature, damage that would reduce your life total to less than 1 reduces it to 1 instead.”

Your missing power and toughness.... Unexpected considering what a good job you have done giving tips on how to improve our templating. Assuming this is a 0/0 then this fits the tropes very well while being a solid design that probably plays a lot better than it reads. I like this.
D'OH! What an epic fail on my part! Yes, it's meant to be a 0/0, that's how I have it in my MSE file that I use to prepare all my designs. I must have forgot... (...my brain too, the unintended irony in the flavor text is really wonderful) ...to copy/paste that part. I really appreciate your correction, just as I like to give advice to you all. It's only fair that you judge me the same way I do, and it's absolutely right and I want you to keep it that way the next times something like this happens. What a shame! Well, I guess you always learn something from your mistakes... Now, this will cost me this month's top 8 for sure, and rightfully so, but I think I'll keep on playing until round 3 anyway. I just like to design cards after all.
