Also strongly considering dropping the percentified scoring since it seems to blow all the hosts out
I may have a solution. I got bored at work yesterday, so I made a spreadsheet that automatically derives player scoring for each round and spits out the top eight based on a given judging order.
It requires the input of player names, number of round placings (how many first/second/third places) and bonus score, as well as team names (can be ignored).
It can handle up to 48 players (I've never seen a CCL even get that high), but if there are less, the algorithm just ignores blank players, so all you have to do is not fill in a name.
Cells are color coded: green cells want a user input, blue cells are formulaic outputs and should not be messed with*, and red cells highlight some sort of mistake.
*I have not locked these in case you feel like making changes, but I wouldn't suggest doing so unless you want to reconfigure a lot of stuff.
Just realized my Returned Patriarch entry lets you bounce opponents creatures on death when it was supposed to be yours only. That makes it far more powerful. oh well my bad for not proof reading.
Sorry for hating on everyone's Fateseal cards so much. I know it seems like a cool mechanic in theory but it actually leads to super unfun gameplay.
I highly recommend you listen to the Future Sight - Drive to work podcast for an overview of how some of the mechanics from Future sight turned out in actual gameplay and which ones are worth reusing.
I should have time tomorrow, I'll post the Top 4 for September if it hasn't happened by then.
Thanks. I'd like to issue an apology, as I haven't been able to fulfill my duties as host. Things outside of mtgs have gotten more busy and complex than I anticipated, and as hard as I try, I don't have enough time to do what is required out of hosting. I wish good luck to the top four!
Totally right about my gift cycle, (nameless one), I misinterpreted the recent text errata ("put tokens onto the battlefield under an opponent's control" -> "have an opponent put tokens onto the battlefield") as a change in functionality in regards to the ownership. As I said, I would've liked more time to think about them and having done so now I would just do them as creatures: Gift Beast1G
Creature - Beast
When Gift Beast enters the battlefield, target opponent gains control of it.
Whenever a creature you control attacks Gift Beast's owner or a planeswalker they control, sacrifice Gift Beast and that player puts a +1/+1 counter on each creature they control.

I tried doing this to my creature cycle. It would have been a "White Commander"'s Minister, "Blue Commander"'s Delegate, "Black Commander"'s Agent, "Red Commander"'s Factor and "Green Commander"'s emissary.
I wanted an undercosted creature that you can "donate" that either has a drawback or it benefited its owner. I think adding another effect to it made my cards clunkier.
On a different topic, for the October one; does your card have to have synergy with both round 1 and 2 entries or just one of them?
EDIT: Also strongly considering dropping the percentified scoring since it seems to blow all the hosts out
I probably have a mystery host lined up for October

In other news, has anyone reviewed the Excel file I posted? I have been using it, and I think it's been quite helpful thus far.
I tested it with random numbers and it works quite intuitively. Thank you, you're a boon to future hosts... whoever you are.

[I'm pretty sure no one actually cares why, but I thought it would be best to notify rather than not.]
I thought the last episode of Duck Dynasty was a tearjerker, too, but that's no reason to call it quits.
Memento Mori, if the nineth lion ate the sun.
