I assume the following is correct, but want to ask anyway to be sure.
For round 2, if my card has something like "sacrifice a permanent", would that count for the main challenge because you COULD sacrifice a creature if you choose to?
EDIT: Would a creature that sacrifices itself also counts?
"Sacrifice a permanent" would not qualify; your card must specifically sacrifice a creature for a benefit.
If a creature had an ability that went "Sacricice ~:", that alone would not qualify. If has to be able to sacrifice another creature.
I made sure to do my rules homework thoroughly - not sure about how the rules were, but I can't give you the point for protection/prevention, apologies.
Metagame is one consideration - the standard for rare 1WW nowadays is Double strike + ability 2/2. Pro red and black foot soldier falls somewhat short of that. I did see the comparison to Seht's Tiger and it's certainly a different way to think about it... my main thing with the creativity was the very standard flavor of it - White Dude Whom Protect. Many of the other entries, comparatively, did more to worldbuild around the card, whereas other ones without flavor or without a good tie-together dealy didn't make the creativity points either (RaikouRider missed most of his points there). Short version of that is that a lot of it came down to the 2.5 from formatting and challenge.
Something I just thought now was that giving protection to you feels more mystical than a knight, more like a cleric or wizard. But anyway, better luck next month on it man. I hope my explanation helped, or made sense at least.
Thank you for the clarification, but really, no worries. Looking back it might seem like I was calling your ruling into question, and would really want to emphasize again that this is NOT the case. I was lazy and didn't consider the metagame or thought to add flavor text to flesh out the creature. Some of your comments I don't agree with, and that's ok, it's bound to happen. Once again thanks for the time to reply, I know how time consuming judging can be.
"Damage can't be prevented" will override protection, yes. Protection does prevent damage and as such would not qualify for the bonus point from last round.
Dang, I hate those months were you get eliminated based on the judgement of a judge that clearly didn't fully understand your card because the judgement talked about things the card doesn't do. Oh well, that's the game. Y'all have fun the rest of the month.
Well as I understand it, it's a guy who is gonna prevent damage to you from creatures by popping free planeswalker-fog out every time you're attacked, with a small chance of actually getting to use one of their abilities before they go away. I re-read the card and... yeah, that's what it does. It's maddeningly OP. Imagine this with a library stacked with 10+ planeswalkers and graveyard-to-library recursion.
EDIT: Whoops, you won't get to activate an ability. It's still way too much for free. There are multiple ways around that trigger and someone would build it.
We're never, ever gonna see a planeswalker tutor, man. It's far too parasitic to make ANY card that's near planeswalker tribal support.
My bracket is Darking, Doomfish, Highlander and Vensar_FR (to be judged by Freyleyes). Both Highlander and Vensar_FR didn't submit an entry.
So, do I and Darking get a freebie?

^^ After searching for their entries for 10 minutes, thought I had gotten senile for not finding them, I have come to the conclusion they didnt submit any cards. Victory by default, thats how true heroes win!!
Next time it would be ideal to verify who submitted when making pairings so that you can appropriately distribute anyone who didn't submit. There should at least be 3 people in a bracket (when 2 are advancing).
And here I thought I was on track to be done with judging first, you guys all beat me while I was at work! I've finalized mine as well. Grats all, and there's some unique cards in all the brackets.
Question for round 3:
For the main challenge, if I make a creature that can pump itself, does that count?
EDIT: giving itself double strike would count?

I'd also like to know if my card meets the challenge.

I got this rather spacy concept and said I'd do May.
It's not fully fleshed out yet, but I think I could get there in time.
Of course I'd need the login for MCC Hammer.
Is it time for the judge signup yet?

Well that's settles it then. Thank you.

Because of your card's restriction on only being able to be used on a creature with 2 power, I'll say that it does qualify.
It's not fully fleshed out yet, but I think I could get there in time.
