Erm, this isn't what I meant by my pm, but when I went back and reread it I saw that I had worded the pm in a way that communicated I would be gone for the month. What I meant to say was that I had no time to finish the current round, sorry about the mix-up ^_^;.
Question: for the first bonus is it OK if you potentially could activate it more than once per turn? I mean, for example, a T ability. If you somehow manage to untap that permanent, you can activate it again.
Or is it required to be able to automatically activate it again (say W: do smth)?
I'd say the rule is "the ability must activatable (<- not a real word) more than once per turn in a vacuum." Meaning if the card's only activated ability has a there needs to be a way to untap it on the card.

I'll bet you wish you had a non-unglued/unhinged card that shared your first name.

As people have mentioned, it has to be repeatable in a vacuum, so no :tapsym: assuming that something else can :symq:.

You can make up for the confusion by taking one of Refelos' or CrimsonCrossfire's judgings from Round 3...maybe Refelos', as he's indicated it may be difficult to complete them. Neither Shineko nor I can complete his, since we've judged some of the ones in his bracket, already. (KK, if you can't, I understand, but we need to find SOMEone...Jaxal? Ced? Anyone wanna volunteer?)
Thank God it got done without me. Now I'm just sharing responsibility for tripping up the month, rather than knocking it flat on its face. Thanks to ced395 for stepping up.
Seryph: Do you at least have access to MSE even if you can't make a render? Just plugging the text into a card can save you the points.

Top in one bracket, third in another; outta the round. Just when I'd figured out my card for the final...them's the breaks :p!I know I've moved to last round before solely on the luck of having a good third round bracket.
I'm not sold that this new way is a bad idea, though. I think most judges know if they are harder than others (I tend to be), and we might get in synch more should we keep this up. This is questionable territory, but maybe we coud offer a half-day period where judges have to already have submitted scores, but are still free to edit them? That way people can stick to their original views while still being able to better curve their scores.
April's looking grimly busy, but if you really, really need more judges, I'll help out. I won't have time to judge the entry card for a bit, though.
For the judge sign-up thread, I found it interesting that nobody brought up that it was almost strictly better than Powerstone Minefield. (The blocking part is irrelevent. The first point it matters at is if you have a 3/3 and they have something as big or bigger, inwhich case they just don't block and get to crack you back for whatever.) That card's been a casual favorite of mine for quite some time and it was the first thing I thought of haha. No harm meant, just thought I'd say it was a bit closer than aether flash.
*Edit:
Also, just a couple round clarifications. It says as an example that the text should have "Counter target spell.". Since this was just used as an example, could the spell counter any number of spells or activated/ triggered abilities? Neither of these would have the exact phrase "Counter target spell.", but they're still counterspells.
Question: Can the card be a permanent with an ability/effect that counters a spell?
Sure. The round req asks for a "card" that includes the text "counter target spell" (or some similar variation). It doesn't say it has to be an instant, nor does it say it can only counter a spell once.
I was wondering would a card that is like Mystic Snake be acceptable for an entry in April round 1?

If I may, I don't know where else to ask this, but I've been looking at the topic list every day for the past week or so and not once have I seen ***MCC April Player Signups*** and now I see the first round is starting.
I really don't know how I could've missed it. I checked the discussion thread every day to see the signup topic, I admit I've only sifted through the first page of the topic list but I assumed the topic would be popular and stay near the top.
I started looking somewhere around March 22-23 I think, was that too late ?

Some kind of witty comment should be here.
I'm sure you can think of something by yourself.

We no longer have a separate thread for player signups, instead letting the first round thread handle them via placeholder. You can still join April by posting a card submission in the 1st round thread before the deadline (when the 4th becomes the 5th).
The 1st round of a month usually opens a day or two before the month begins, with the requirements being added in shortly thereafter.
Clockwork Gamer, your card needs to have a converted mana cost of 4 or more. Just a heads up.
The 2 challenge points are not required attributes. The only required one is the actual round requirement. If someone wants or feels a need to ignore one or both challenge points, they are free to do so.

It's round 4, so we'll go with the more restrictive:
This.
Absolutely. No numerals there.

Yeah... microtext is a problem for me without being able to make renders at the moment. Oops.

What about: "counter target <type> spell"?EDIT: It's always good to read the clarifications...
EDIT2: Is it necessary to have the spell targetting the target? I mean: is "counter that spell" ok?
It's also good to read this thread:
So: No, it has to target the target.
