IIW: If you were to win an invitational, what kind of card would you submit? (ex: Solemn Simulacrum(treefolk), Snapcaster Mage, etc.)
What do you mean with "Cycle is complete"? I don't understand this challenge.
There's often groups of cards that are similar that span multiple colors (that's just one variation of a cycle). What this challenge means is find a cycle and create the card that wasn't made to complete the 'cycle' of those cards. For example, my submission takes the cycle of titans, and creates the Artifact one - essentially the member of the cycle that was never made and which completes said cycle.
At least, that's how I'm interpreting it. As far as this thread is concerned, IIWs are usually open to interpretation.
@ Transmutaion: Yeah, but since you aren't paying any costs, you generally won't affect any permanents if you use a mana ability. Unless there's some rule that states mana abilities aren't activated abilities. There very well could be. I'm not sure.
Oh! Thanks for clarifying - I thought his card was part of the cycle and you had to finish it. Thanks. Btw, your card can activate Door to Nothingness for free.

My challenge is intended to be somewhat open-ended. Design a cycle of your own, design a card that fits an existing cycle, design a card with cycling, or maybe design a bicycle. Maybe do them all at once!
MagicBrains's interpretation is certainly a valid approach, but I'm open-minded.

I wound up going 4-1-1 and getting 12th place out of 113, so, I feel pretty good about the night. Went up against a Balefire Dragon once. Killed it with a 2/2 Vampire token followed by a Brimstone Volley. Would have placed even higher, but the guy I played in the second round was my only loss, and he immediately dropped after beating me, so that hurts.
