Cardz5000 posted a broken image but there's no IIW so I don't think that's an entry. If it is, then I don't know what else I can do.
This challenge actually puts me at a disadvantage because I have no idea how any of these should be designed, knowing that Magus make references to cards of old, but then also forcing those cards to be colorless and therefore stray from the color pie. So I'll be basing my judgments on the chosen card to reference and how well is it incorporated as a colorless creature. I also noticed a lot of Eldrazi Wizard creature types and my flavour senses were jilted, but I also understant that every Magus is also a Wizard so that's me silenced on the subject.
Emerge definitely helps slot in the color pie bleed of this card so that's a big plus. Magus (Magi?) typically have a frail body unlike this design, but I get that for the sake of Emerge design it's beefier. Mind Over Matter is a powerful card however, and the type of ability it provides can offer a huge advantage in the right situation. Flavourly speaking, it's an ability I can definitely see be acquired through eldritch means.
This card references Scour From Existence and it's pretty interesting, if not a bit underpowered. Seven mana is a lot of mana to repeatedly exile permanents, but it's also important to note that it can be done once more at instant speed as a means of 2 for 1ing on an opponent's removal spell. My only gripe is the second ability needing to be a tap ability to respect Magus tradition.
Chains of Mephistopheles on a creature, hot damn that's exciting, but I don't know whether or not that's the right choice of card to add to the colorless rota. But I guess that would depend on deckbuilding and the type of deck you play. It's an interesting stax piece and an anti-control card that can really punish certain decks.
Glad this wasn't Magus of Nudity. Definitely the kind of weird, warping abilities an Eldrazi would have and that's great, but this probably could have done with some C in its mana cost to cement the Eldraziness down whilst also making sure this isn't just jammed in any deck that wants to screw with your opponents. I also think an older keyword like Cumulative Upkeep spoils the design here a little. Had it been a revamped version, it would have been really good.
Both cards are missing the artifact type, but I'll judge Magus of the Shield as it better fits the Magus style. I believe this is a reference to Pariah and perhaps the En-Kor cards which would make this the first Magus to reference two cards I believe, but Pariah's Shield has already proved that this card can exist as a colorless creature, especially given damage redirection isn't all to powerful an ability. The activated ability is a little poorly worded, as it doesn't especially tell me how much damage is being redirected or if it's all damage or from a source of your choice.
This would definitely need to sacrifice itself as well, some Magus can do it like Magus of the Wheel. Boardwipes every turn are too powerful especially as you don't lose the card that's actually wiping the board, even on a 1/1 eight mana body (Scornful Egotist reference?). This card could also have done with some flavour text, but it's never a necessity either.
This is a strong ability for two mana, I feel like it could quickly get out of hand. Carnival of Souls being at 5 mana and locked into Black, there are some degenerate things this can enable, and for a colorless card that's dangerous. I could see this with a bit more body at 43-4 mana being good. I must say the flavour is amazing on this card, especially as it further highlights the flavor of Carnival of Souls which is just as fantastic.
A Magus based on an Equipment is a new push for design, which I like quite a lot, and the tapping to substitute for the equip cost is pretty fun (albeit maybe making it sorcery speed aligns it more with the Equip cost?). A 1/1 body for 3 makes this guy pretty frail, but giving away lifelink and deathtouch for free is a strong enough ability for this card to be playable in a great many decks. The flavour of this card is a bit perplexing (despite me being fully on the Lizard Wizard hype train) - this card is itself a lizard and is a mage that channels Basilisks aka bigger lizards?
A lot of variable entries here, some fun flavour, some tough evaluations that I still can't say is proper, so Honourable Mentions to you all for attempting to fulfill this weird challenge. I'm going to give this one to Mergatroid_Jones with Kwanyeegor as a close runner up! Well done to you all!
Next Challenge: Commander 2019. Design a face card and another card on theme for the deck.
Just a point of order but Carnival of Souls is two mana (I followed with my entry the rule of same CMC for previous Magi that were colored and took artifact abilities); you must be thinking of Black Market.

Haste
Shesherri, Slippery Conqueror has protection from converted mana cost X or less, where X is its power.

Put up to one Plains card from your hand onto the battlefield, then return up to one target permanent card with converted mana cost 3 or less from your graveyard to the battlefield, then create three 1/1 red, green, and white Sand Warrior creature tokens.
After the success of Battlebond, Commander 2019 pushes a two-headed giant commander deck, with four decks able to each pair up with one of the other three for interesting varieties of 2v2 games, including non-2HG games. The Jeskai Deck, Martial Alliance, is about board presence and card draw.
Rimmar, Battle Tactician2RWU
Legendary Creature - Human Soldier (Mythic Rare)
First Strike
Whenever a creature you or a teammate controls deals combat damage to an opponent, draw a card. 3: Attacking creatures get +1/+0 until end of turn. Your teammates may activate this ability.

Activate this ability only any time you could cast a sorcery. An alliance of armies in the face of adversity.

Rules clarification: Pledged commanders still obey commander tax, but it's a separate tax to the commander's actual owner. So if Rimmar had been played twice by its owner already but never by a teammate, they wouldn't pay tax.

MirrisLegend- Regor, the Lone Pinnacle (and Bodyguard Thrull)
Regor, unkillable commander. Considering the conservative power/toughness on both cards, you've clearly recognized how powerful the unkillable commander can be. It's an interesting theme for a deck to have, and I think you've represented it well. I think the conservatism is correctly approached, but it does make Regor seem kinda lame, considering he's supposed to be this lone evil overlord guy, and if you control a Sanctuary Cat, he turns into a... Sanctuary Cat. Bodyguard Thrull would probably see quite a bit of play.

JamBlock- Arunu, Heralding Hydra and Welcomer of the Wilds
I like the flash theme, and I feel like it could be a very cool deck. The problem with Arunu is the same problem with every XCC hydra: XCC for an X/X kinda sucks. Gyrus, Waker of Corpses handled this best. Because of how big-mana works in EDH, this is still playable, but the power/toughness are a little weedy. I really like the ability, though. Welcomer of the Wilds is perfect for the theme.

void_nothing- Shesherri, Slippery Conqueror and Sun Over Bryce
ETBs, (of all permanent types). Solid theme, and good colors for it. Shesherri is a bit aggressive for my tastes: I'd prefer an incremental advantage machine out of this particular theme. The design is quite solid, though. There's never been a white snake, 'cause snakes would never live on flat open fields. I like the design on Sun Over Bryce quite a bit, but I'm not sure where to put it outside of this deck. EDH is a wacky format, though. I'm sure it'll find homes.

Subject16- Rimmar, Battle Tactician and Sunlight Missive
There's a lot going on here. Being specifically geared towards teams is unexpected. The theme of board presence and card draw is not as well defined, as the theme of teams, which is really what the cards are demonstrating. Rimmar is basically a team Edric, Spymaster of Trest. It's got good stats, and passes the test where it's great in team games, but still playable in free-for-all. Sunlight Missive is an unusual card, and it's kinda cool. I'm still not totally convinced in the team theme, though.

Sephon19- Launor of the Hateweald and Oak of Launor
Woah, what?? That first ability is nuts. You need a sacrifice outlet to get full value out of it, but it is an insane ability. I really like the second ability, but it may be a bit much considering how good the first is. But this is a 2/2 for five that has to untap for full value, so it's probably not broken, just nuts. I like sorceries matter as a theme it's about time for it, after all. Oak of Launor is very cool. It's a sorcery entomb that justifies itself as a Gruul beater. Very cool indeed.

Kwanyeegor- Bhaugyu the Scarred Head and Doomed Battle Shaman
Ahh, another take on Sorceries matter. Great minds think alike. It is high-time for that to happen. Bhaugyu the Scarred Head gets the award for best name (and a +2 to to legendary coolness for it). Making it tribal and based off of Orcs and Shamans does force you to some odd choices, but Shamans will give you a lot of leeway. This card is great. Doomed Battle Shaman is great too (and also has a cool name).

cardz5000 - this is technically not a returning ability w/ the rename, also the card is winmore and too parasitic I think
sephon19 - really weird flavor but innovative card. anyway why would the Fiora council allow plants to have a vote
subject16 - I love it, great rare creature, fuesl dethrone and very hard to kill, johnny would luv it
Karmahoudini - I feel like the drawback is too weird and could result in too many etb triggers. Also opponents will never choose haste for riot and feels white instead of blue

Very very strong entries. Not a dud among them.

cardz5000 - this is technically not a returning ability w/ the rename, also the card is winmore and too parasitic I think
sephon19 - really weird flavor but innovative card. anyway why would the Fiora council allow plants to have a vote
subject16 - I love it, great rare creature, fuesl dethrone and very hard to kill, johnny would luv it
Karmahoudini - I feel like the drawback is too weird and could result in too many etb triggers. Also opponents will never choose haste for riot and feels white instead of blue
hm Cardz5000
