Very flavorful, narrowness appropriate for uncommon given a white sacrifice theme in limited, seems balanced enough seeing the deck needed to use it has severe deckbuilding constraints. I would probably personally have tweaked the numbers a little and made it more conventional, say a 1/3 that gave 3 life instead of 5, but I get that you were pushing it this way to really push for novelty and flavor. Also, and this is just a personal opinion that I'm not taking into consideration, I would love to have this card printed, I love durdly decks. But yea, it requires a good deal of sacrifice A+B infrastructure to make work. 4/5
Ulka
Very flavorful and fits the theme. However way too narrow, even at uncommon. For gameplay, I would've made it something like Deicide, where it would get a bonus for doing the Fratricide. 2/5
Mergatroid_Jones
Very flavorful. My issue with this is that it's wayyy too powerful for its cost, and the mechanics are way too punishing in multiplayer. Compare to what Wizards did with the Detain mechanic - the only card that does a "global" detain is Lavinia of the Tenth and she only detains things with converted mana cost 4 or less. I know that Sleep exists, but that allows dropping of new creatures after the effect in question. Same with detain.
I might get the rules wrong, but the amount of value is still off.
That said, I do think you had the best twist of concept among the players, with the effects being clear references, but the particular exectuions of power level needs so much tweaking I can't have it win this one. 3/5
Forestsguy
Great flavor. Great punishment with great oomphy reward, which lines up with a Job card. Problem is that the rate is way too low. Seven turns with so severe drawbacks on such an expensive card with a body with poor defenses. You could choose an assortment of solutions:
- Cheaper cost
- More resilient body
- Ability to sacrifice multiple permanents per turn
- Allow the player to "pay" other stuff (discarding cards and/or losing life)
2/5
Chemtrails
Great flavor. But oh god, white prison amock. This makes me really irk playing black or red. If I don't manage to counter/discard it as an UB deck, what am I really going to do against it? Bounce it and counter it? I like the way you used "one or more" but cards like this need to be costed higher in the current day. That said, it's mostly a cost issue. 4/5
Cardz5000
Great flavor. Damn you all made such great concept cards.
The card is solid. Great twist on a blink effect for a top down abrahamic world. However, I'm not totally hooked on the prophecy mechanic as a keyword. While flavorful, it's a lot of baggage for a keyworded mechanic to have work in a limited format. The reveal element makes it printable compared to Panglacial Wurm (which cannot be printed as a larger mechanic since it similarly to tutors makes play patterns too repeatable). However, it's a massive A+B infrastructure that's not really that prevalent in earlier sets. All in all, I'm not really sure how to score it. I think I'm going to give it 4/5 but not as a final printable card, but a really interesting and novel mechanic to explore. All colors can reveal from the top of their libraries after all, but how often?
So that's really close. All of you had magnificent flavor, by the way. Also those that had low scores. Everyone.
I took a long time to think about who should win, and I think the top three are:
3. Chemtrails - Elegant card with great resonance, and the one or more wording made it so that it's not too punishing, however I can see it being way too frustrating in too many situations. That's why you don't win, even if it's a close one.
2. Subject16 - This is probably the most printable card of the bunch, the effects are clear and it very loudly screams for you to build a deck with it. Nice Johnny/Spike value. However, it's not as novel as it could be. I'm going to reward the card I'm most excited to test which is
1. Cardz5000 WINRAR! It was a close one, however. If I were to judge a Great Designer Search, where several of you turned in several cards, and you kept sending these kinds of cards in, I'd ask for something that's a little less strenious on a set's infrastructure. However, I'm just so excited to build a set with the Prophecy mechanic and test it. Could be a really fun deck... Right?

Forestsguy - Tutor's Clue - I would have liked a little less meta name, but this is both fair and powerful. This does feel like a clue, but keeping the base clue ability would have been a nice touch even if seldom ever used. Subject16 - Deadeye Mug - Not sure if the skull belonged to a deadeye pirate in life... or in death. Pillage needs to be a little more specific about if multiple instances of it (across multiple permanents) stack. I imagine it isn't intended to, but you need to find some more precise wording. This differs from the previous entry in that it makes no effort to mirror its type-sake token. A format were most non-creature artifacts are pillageable treasures is bound to be interesting, but I'm not sure if it would be fun. Mergatroid_Jones - Ratpox Plagueling - This doesn't really feel like a germ to me at all. Spelldreamer - Inevitable Growth - You don't need the "type" in the rules text (Elvish Eulogist.) This is an interesting idea, but with WotC's stance on the Tribal supertype, this seems unlikely. Without seeing some other card that share sub-types, this is really hard to gage. Ulka - Guardian of the Herd - These are the type of cards that budding Txmmy/Jxnnys see and say "but what if I got two of them!" Excellent use of the challenge to pick out a creature type that was easy to make a creature out of. VolrathTheRisen - Deserter Cycle - The Coward type on Treacherous Deserter really throws me for a loop as it does nothing. I really like what you're going for here and it makes me wish there was a separation between the ancestry (or race for those that play DnD) and profession subtypes. Good use of a "class" subtype! mirrislegend - Splinter Shard - Modern-day magic doesn't want green to have splintering wind. I would have probably tried to divorce myself from the subtypes origins if I went for the splinter subtype.

Winner is VolrathTheRisen
HM to Ulka
