Before you are fully out the door, "Perhaps you don't fully understand what we do here. This is the Criminal Council. What you do, no matter how noble you choose to spin it, is still under our jurisdiction. And the job we would ask of you is, well, let's just say it's more in line with your skills than the last one. There is an elf in Manoloon by the name of Gafriley. He stole from the wrong man, and recovery is no longer possible. Justice, however, can be enacted. Make it so and you will have membership, and perhaps a small percentage of the fee. 100 gold, shall we say?"
Stopping in the doorway, he turns a little bit. "I never stated my deeds were noble."
He then thinks for a moment before responding further "Tell me identifiers of this...elf. Mind you it will still take me a bit due to having to take care of another job."

What is your race?
Such a difficult question so soon? Mercy, please! To say that I am one thing betrays everything else I might be or become! I will not willingly shackle myself to the shallow limitations of language. Sir, I will not, nay cannot, do it! Only joking, of course. I am a shapeshifter, a changeling if it please you. Certainly nothing pleases me more.
What is your class?
Nothing less than the most dashing and deadly swordsman AND swordswoman to ever hold the honorable distinction of Knight! Though at the moment I serve no earthly lord, doubtless one will soon come along that recognizes my many, many talents.
What color are you aligned to?
Truth! Justice! Beauty! Love! These things I live for! These things beat within the core of my being. Theirs is a capricious tempo which fills my every thought, word and whim. I am but a dancer, swept up in the music of passion and righteousness. (White and Red)
What is your name?
A single name is not a luxury my people are heir to. We flit between them, alighting briefly on one but soon discarding it for another. People have more names for me than there are stars in the sky. But there is only one name I have for myself: I am Whistler.
Do you tend to make a big entrance?
Does the sun rise when night has run its course? Does right inevitably prevail against wrong? Do I make "big entrances?" Ha! None make them grander! Let criminals and vermin hide their faces from the world, I have nothing to hide and all shall know it!
Are you a risk taker?
Life is risk! Every breath I take could very well be my last. Should I stop breathing for fear that I may choke? No! I drink deep of the sweet air and laugh! Laugh at the joy of mortality and the beauty of the temporary. Nothing is so precious, so treasured as that which at any moment could be taken away. We live in a world wracked by dragons, demons and disease. What good does it do to jealously guard my life in the face of such forces as these, which care not for any precautions mortals take against them? Should I close myself off to the myriad miracles of existence for the illusion of safety against them? No! That would be the worst kind of folly.
What sort of people tend to be your enemies?
I have no enemies. My heart has no room for hate. There are things which must be destroyed, certainly, but I do not love them less than the things I must protect. I love them more. They are lost beyond rescue and suffering beyond balm.
Who sort of people tend to be your allies?
I call every man brother and every woman sister. But those who raise arms with me, those who drink with me, they are truly my comrades. I make no judgments upon the hands which are clasped in mine.
Is the pen mightier than the sword?
A pen and a sword sit side by side on a table, gathering dust. Which one is winning? Alone, pen and sword are equal in their powerlessness. The hands which wields the tool is what is mighty, not the tool itself.
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Of course! I fall in love with everything I see! I could not believe more in anything else!
You make your way to the job board, where, behold:
POSTING: Seeking a guide/guard for Mt. Garol ascent.

Dalleg turned to Khassia.
"Well, what do you think? Construction assistance seems well-suited to my skills, but given our recent success slaying a sea-beast, investigating the creature near the lighthouse sounds like a fine choice as well. I'd be comfortable with either, but if we undertake the construction task, I would wish to borrow 5 gold upon our return--fully intending to pay you back, of course!--so I could purchase a Begrina Guard-Plate I've had my eye on. I leave the final choice to you, my friend."

Prerelease screwed me up too. I failed to get my update posted for 3 days because of scheduling. Also, is Maginon returning?
What is your race?
Dragon.
Yes, dragon, you read that correctly. I might be a young dragon, but I'm still a dragon. Specifically, I am a steel dragon, as you low-lying vermin often identify our kind, and I'm only 45 years old, which makes me about a teenager. I only provide a translation to help your pathetic minds cope with what I am trying to impart.
What is your class?
Druid.
What? I'm a steel dragon, not a machine dragon. My kind possesses a very powerful connection with the natural world, and an elemental affinity for the underground. We are split between Druids, those of us who rise up from the stone and value the life that grow from the soil that gave us life, and Barbarians, who foolishly attempt to plunge deeper into the world, leaving behind the perfect coolness of a forest floor for the maddening chaos of a volcano.
What color are you aligned to?
Green.
What is your name?
Edamn Del Infesha Ha Woq Balum Corruus.
Don't tell me I'm going to have to repeat that…
Do you tend to make a big entrance?
Yes.
I'm kind of a big deal outside of my family gatherings. I mean, it's astounding how many people have never seen one of my esteemed kind. That, combined with the necessity of my work as a Druid makes me very important indeed.
Are you a risk taker?
No.
My work is important. I refuse to allow anything inside my affinity, which includes all nature, and thus the entire world, to go to waste or to fail. To do such would be downright evil.
What sort of people tend to be your enemies?
Barbarians and Artificers.
I despise those who would turn away from their gifts, from the gifts others would bestow upon them, and go to live in the wild, to roll in the mud like a pig when you could better all live. Though, as much as I hate them, I also hate those who take it too far, who try and replace the gifts that were given to them or the source of the gifts with something artificial, something they themselves created.
What sort of people tend to be your allies?
Clerics and Rogues.
Those who heal and those who will take any step towards achieving their goals. These qualities I can admire. A healer will give gifts readily, making them like the land. The ambitious, on the other hand, are usually deserving of the pride they may or may not possess. Truly, they accept gifts.
Is the pen mightier than the sword?
No.
While I agree with the sentiment, practically, a pen can only write so long and deliver so many messages before it runs out of ink. A sword delivers a much stronger message, and lasts much longer before it will dull.
Khassia stared at the board for a moment and hummed to herself in thought.
"Well if you want to aid in the construction so much, I wouldn't stop you, although I honestly am more interested in the strange beast. Seeing as it is unidentified, this could make for a wonderful tale," she smiled, "that and it grants 60 more gold, meaning that you wouldn't need to fluster yourself over borrowing coins," she replied, giving a moment of thought before walking off in the general direction of the lighthouse. Dalleg is free to make his own choices after all. And if he wishes to accompany then he would easily know where to find me. She decided, although mildly discouraged as she sort of split the party, or at the least walked off on her own. Yeah...

I'm introducing a new game-word to the game: "conditions." These are just restrictions that will sometimes apply to challenges.
We seem to have lost most of our "main story" team. I am debating how to rectify this. If anyone wants to join Maokun aka Alvril Erno, get in touch amongst yourselves I guess.
Also, I'm making some general comments in response to individuals since they affect everyone:
1) No, Maginon isn't coming back. I have the time for this game or all-the-other-games but I like this game best.
2) There will be a bit of a change to the economy in the reboot. The Begrina bazaar will be unchanged but expect to see more specialized items elsewhere. This is to avoid people getting overmodded universally.
3) Hey look we have two bards now. Y'all should form a band.
4) With a slew of new players, it makes sense to repost the PLAYER MAP LINK. As I've said, bookmark it. It updates by itself.
DEGRAMMATON
You head to Bird's Bluff (+1) where you will:
CHALLENGE: Cross the narrow sea with magic.
Difficulty: 18
Condition: Because of the choppy seas and high winds, only a spell with a strong foundation (CMC 3+) will be able to safely get you across.
IVAN
OOC: Your toughness is actually 4. The avatar I gave you did not account for your white robe.
You begin to follow the tracks north, but the farther you go the more difficult it becomes…
CARD EVAL
Card: A two mana creature that can't be dealt combat damage is very good. The extra ability pairs with it even better. I think that if this cost one more, it would be excellent, but as is, I feel like it's a bit of a push. It's obviously a cool idea, though, if the another thing stopping it from perfection is one mana. Flavor is good. 8/10
Flavor: Well it has the type scout, and you know within reason that it's not going to get itself killed while it's scouting, but it doesn't scream tracker to me. Maybe it's just the name? I get how the second ability could be construed as tracking and sort of has been before. 8/10
Score: 16 + 1 = 17
SUCCESS (Mana Spent)
EXP Gained: 5
You follow the tracks which take you north through the the part of the grove where you picked up Sky, then yet farther north into the… Morabloom Fields (+WW).
This open coastal meadow is most well known for being a sort of ritual grounds for the Hand of Righteousness. They hold an occasional festival here and perform several other tests and rites here as well. As for terrain, it is a bright grassland strewn with white and yellow flowers and small creatures.
You see a small makeshift shack cobbled out of sticks and mud from the coastline. Your scout tracks your culprit straight to it before vanishing into the either, which kind of freaks Sky out, but he'll get used to Kardian magic sooner or later.
Anyway, you peer around the shack through its hollow opening and see the devious minota-- Nope!
"Oh crap you found me! I knew I'd gurble it up!" says the Noggle. "I'm sorry. I'll return what I haven't eaten."
You get the sense this Noggle doesn't have much going for him these days… What do?
ODULA
Just to clarify, make sure you know the rule on permanents. I.e. they're not permanent… Also, you're doing an uncomfortable amount of speaking for the world. I don't know how they do things over in Destent (legitimately, I haven't gotten to check it out yet) but I tend to exert a decent amount of creative control, especially when it comes to money. That said, nothing you've done here seems outright unfair, except, again, the permanent ain't going to last.
Between your scrap and your toolkit and your room at the tavern, you spent 59 of your gold. You then spend the night practicing your artifice.
CARD EVAL
No difficulty. EXP dependent on score.
Card: I'm not sure how you wanted this card to work, but right now it's a blue 0/1 that reads "U: Put a +1/+1 counter on this creature." No color gets +1/+1 counters at that efficiency, and if they started to, blue would be last. Points for flavor, but little else. 2.5/10
Flavor: I'm guessing you wanted this to be more permanent, which it won't be. As is, this score is hard to assign. It's cheap and a small frame, so it makes sense as a first thing to build. 7/10
Score: 9.5

You construct your Golem and it whirrs up, spins around, then seems to face into the aether. Odd. Perhaps things work a little strangely in this new place.

DALLEG and KHASSIA
After some discussion and confusion, you take the lighthouse job. You each go south (+(U/B)) to the Blackcliffs Lighthouse.
A tall imposing spire of a lighthouse rises into the cloudy skies above. Atop it, a glowstone beacon signal ships toward Begrina. Meanwhile on the ground, waves crash against the tall, dark, jagged cliffs.
At first you don't see much of anything, but as darkness falls and the glowstone beacon at the top of the lighthouse turns, a strange sight. Something large just beneath the surface not too far off shore seems to reflect the glowstone's light. But whatever it was, it wasn't visible without the light hitting it. Whatever this is, it doesn't seem to be moving much. It's hard to call it a threat, but you can see how it might make people uncomfortable.
VEGA and SKYHAND
The dynamic duo both back in action, you head back to port in New Kalon (+1R each) to ship out to Begrina, only to realize that even between you, you cannot quite afford the trip back for both of you. (64 gold each, I did not notice this in advance.)
OOC: Your safe passage to Severex still applies, but you'll still need to raise some funds on Fira if you want to get to the right continent. I'll make it relatively non-challenging.
KYRIN
OOC: Your Deora spoiler is a bit wonky. Also, just to reclarify companions, you can talk to them and ask them to do stuff, but they have free will (my will) so don't necessarily assume they'll always do what you want.
You and Deora team up and are ready to go wherever adventure may lead you, which is everywhere, so get moving!
HADDOK
Retrochallenge: My dog knoooows what you did in the daaaaaark! So light em up!
Difficulty: 15
CARD EVAL
Card: A 2/1 first strike at that cost would be common. The extra ability makes it uncommon. I have absolutely no problems with this from a balance or viability standpoint. My one complaint about flavor is that there's just a tiny disconnect between the "again in the next" flavor text and the fact that you're sacrificing something that's already a spirit. It's like there's an afterlife to the afterlife going on. But very minor problem, as evidenced by: 9.5
Flavor: It's more guide themed than light themed. I don't know if it's quite flavorful enough to say this thing is illuminating just because it's a white spirit, but it's certainly plausible that it could be. The card mechanics/name just don't quite sell it as much as they could. 7
Score: 16.5 + 1 = 17.5
Difficulty: 15

You enter the mound of the haunt with the mastiff at your side. A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
"He claims to be a doctor by profession, though his actions are that of anything but. He is tall, lives in a blue cottage. He is known to be quite tall and sometimes wear a bowtie. There's no reason to think he is trained to fight back, but he certainly is equipped to evade."
"I'll take care of him once I'm done with the other thing." and proceeds to walk out the door to head south and east towards Begrina.

Since dawn, Whistler had stood at the prow of the ship staring into the distance, watching as the spires of Begrina slowly crested the horizon. It let its face go slack, all of its assumed features melting away into a blank grey slate. Salt spray licked against its face, stinging its eyes. Growing translucent membranes over its eyes as the merfolk had would have taken Whistler less than a thought, but it did nothing of the source. After all, it had no clue when it would next feel the see spray on its face.
The sailors eyed Whistler warily. "The thing finally shut up," one murmured to another, "Dunno whether to be relieved or worried."
-
Whistler bounded down the gangplank, cloak flapping behind it like a pair of patched, brown wings. "Goodbye, friends!" It called behind it to the sailors, "May you journey safely and live long happy lives!" It didn't look back to see their reaction, slit-like eyes already focused on the seething crowd that covered the docks. New place, new face, Whistler smiled to itself, lips already shifting to mimic those of a passing elf's.
Sensations bombarded Whistler from every direction. The smells of a port, rotting kelp, unwashed dockhands and tar, assailed his nose. People of all shapes, sizes and colors rushed passed him, each one dressed according to one of a thousand different fashions. Conversations in numberless languages jostled in the air, each one certain that it was most important of all and none managing to break through the ululating roar. The changeling's smile broadened and it added dimples to the corner's of its mouth. It plunged into the throng headfirst, without a clue in which direction it was headed.
Whistler followed the docks for as long as it could. By the time the crowds had thinned out from the docks, it had settled on a shape. A man, young and fit, modeled after a noble Whistler had glimpsed slipping out of the back of a whore-house formed the base. His hair was an intricately woven spire of braids he'd seen on a silk merchant and it was colored in all the hues of his wares. Whistler still wore the elf woman's mouth but only the dimples on the left side remained. He checked his reflection one last time in window of a tavern to make sure everything fit together. He made a few tweaks before he was satisfied then strode into the tavern, reaching up to rap his knuckles on the star hanging above the door as he passed underneath.
The room within smelled of sweat, meat and ale. Whistler inhaled deeply and made his way between the tables towards the bar. There are few empty spaces to be found and Whistler selected the one next to the large, scarred viashino, sidling up close to the scaled creature. He grinned, showing off the lopsided smile that he developed on the walk over. "Fascinating scars!"
he called to the viashino, forming a pale, pock-marked furrow of his own across his brow, "Are those teeth marks? I scarcely dare imagine a beast which looked at you and thought 'tasty!' The name's Purmys, are you from around here?"
TL/DR: Whistler walks along the dock towards Star Tavern, collecting bits of different people's faces as it goes. It sits down at the bar in the tavern and tries to start up a conversation with a Viashino in a way he doesn't realize is probably insulting.

You begin your adventure in:
Begrina: A western coastal trading city with a slight gothic vibe. In the north of the city is the Grand Cathedral, home to Begrina's faithful. In the west are the Bazaar and Beacon Harbor, where adventurers can purchase wares for their journey or even hire safe passage. To the south, you find a boisterous Star Tavern. The east is mostly residential.

Dena strode down a busy street, not bothering to hide a scowl on her face. She usually tried to hide her emotions as best as possible, keep a jaunty grin on her face and walk with exuberant pride and exaggerated drama. What's the point in attracting an audience when you have no way to perform? she thought bitterly. Her passage to Begrina had not been the simple lazy journey she had been promised. Bloody storms, rocking that porous stinking excuse for a boat. Much to her dismay she had been knocked off the deck and into the sea not once, but twice, losing her instruments in her second involuntary dive.
Dena sighed and tossed her purse up and caught it a few times idly. At least that blustering captain paid the whole passage worth of performances, even if he didn't pay for my property his worthless dingy destroyed. There was only one thing she could do, so she headed towards the Bazaar searching for a shop that may contain decent quality instruments to replace the ones she so recently lost.
Score: 9.5

If their was a quest to be done in the city then she would head out and proceed to the quest if not she would buy another night at the Star Tavern and create this ~.

NOTES:

You construct your Golem and it whirrs up, spins around, then seems to face into the aether. Odd. Perhaps things work a little strangely in this new place.
OOC: The tap symbol in your avatar is missing in your sig.
ENDILSES
"He claims to be a doctor by profession, though his actions are that of anything but. He is tall, lives in a blue cottage. He is known to be quite tall and sometimes wear a bowtie. There's no reason to think he is trained to fight back, but he certainly is equipped to evade."
WHISTLER
Oof, complicated first post.
Whistler (R/W)
Creature - Shapeshifter Knight
Whistler has first strike as long as you control a creature with first strike. The same is true for haste, vigilance, lifelink, and protection.
1/1
You begin your adventure in:
Begrina: A western coastal trading city with a slight gothic vibe. In the north of the city is the Grand Cathedral, home to Begrina's faithful. In the west are the Bazaar and Beacon Harbor, where adventurers can purchase wares for their journey or even hire safe passage. To the south, you find a boisterous Star Tavern. The east is mostly residential.

You enter the mound of the haunt with the mastiff at your side. After much walking - more than seems reasonable given the size of the hut from the outside - you come to a chamber that is lit, which is convenient as your mastiff suddenly fades. "Oh, hi!" says a chipper, nasal, yet still booming voice. Down comes:
Trimsy, Haunt's Djinn 3WU

After doing whatever you do here, you proceed to find the sick friend and deliver the medicine. Apparently news of the sickness had spread through the town somewhat so it does not prove challenging. "Thank you," the sick elf says, coming around with the help of the herbs. "Here." (+50 Gold, 1G).

"I suppose we should find a fare then. Let us...go mug an unfortunate soul. I think I saw someone with a large purse enter a shop nearby. Let's go." Vega said to Skyhand, displeased that the men he killed earlier did not have any gold on them.
