=O I like this, because of the sheer amount of detail and design that went into this! You're bending the colour pie with the second ability. The third ability needs to say permanent; for I can't put an instant/sorcery into play. Shroud!

Neat. Pretty chaotic. The thing is, this is way too good without the ability in the first place. Red hasty 3 power first strike for two? Can you make red aggro scarier?

@Talore. Actually, it's suppose to be that the first activated/triggered ability of a Dragon per turn would free. So it would really be 6 mana for a Dragon if you used the cards ability, or you can just use it's static ability to give them a slight boost in a Fire-Breathing ability or any other random ability a Dragon would have.

Oops, didn't see the card was a dragon That makes it better, but I still feel like a R could be taken off the activation cost. Nice first ability, though.
@Talore: Not to knock your judgings or Hanslineman...Yes, his card is good but its a real wording nightmare. Do I understand what it does? Yes. Is it cool? Absolutely. Could it be printed? Heck no. The first ability is fine. The second should have the "sacrifice a land" clause before the colon. The third is very off and not well templated at all. "If the revealed card is a non instant or non sorcery card, put it onto the battlefield" or "cast it with paying its mana cost." You can't put a sorcery onto the battlefield.
Again, I'm not ripping either of you and not saying anyone else deserved to win, I think penmanship is one of the most important things. We are supposed to be emulating the fine folks at R&D. Professionalism counts for a lot in my book. Take with it what you will.

I just chimed in to say, I'm glad everyone is finding this challenge fun. Judging will be done tommorow, maybe tonight if there are no new entries for 7 hours lol.
I noticed a couple comments sorta like monkey isn't a creature type etc. these are actually all the Chinese zodiac animals for those of you who haven't seen that, and the number that corresponds to them. (but changing monkey to ape is fine, I'm just letting people know.)

Yes, I'm a writer, so I especially realise that penmanship is important. But in R&D, wording can be worked out, flaws can be ironed. I always the initial creativity a lot more than techincal perfection. To expect one ameteur to display the quality of a professional team is kind of silly. =P I respectfully counter. =D

With a sweet set of Mana abilities, this Dragon Horse is all about the endgame! It can haste if you have the mana, It can fly if need be, and for the heck of it Lets give it TRAMPLE! Way better than beef legendary.

Take a mechanic from the pre-mirrodin era, and a mechanic after the mirrodin era, and create a card that flavorfully melds both mechanics.

Monkey isn't currently a creature type, so I went with Ape as it fits the flavor better. It's a bit wordy but I felt "basic land" was necessary to keep this from being horrendously broken.

Playability - sad thing is, this is weak for a cockatrice. Classic Cockatrice 2/4 for 4, with deathtouch and flying. 5/10
Balance - I Think it's fairly weak actually. Regeneration is a nice touch though. Well templated. 7/10
Theme - A Snake Rooster, fits right in. 5/5

Playability - Hmm. I don't have much expereince with Kamigawa. This seems pretty good. The ability to give it evasion is nice. 7/10
Balance - I Think it's fairly well balanced. I just always cringe to see a decent 1 toughness card. Good Templation. 8/10
Theme - A winged Rabbit Samurai? Winged is the stretch for me. 4/5

Playability - If this was in standard, I'm almost positive it would be played. Outside of that vacuum however, It seems pretty poor. it's a bad Dark ritual in two colors. 6/10
Balance - It's a very weak card, not made to hardcast. But it's not as good as the card its based on. 6/10
Theme - It's Not Draconic! No flying, no power, no nothing. Very apeish though. 3/5

(jackal familiar, Jackal pup?) Maybe a R/W. You have built a Demon Hound. Without the Hound. Just a RWB Demon. that doesn't make sense does it? -1/5 Even the name is Demonic!?!

With a sweet set of Mana abilities, this Dragon Horse is all about the endgame! It can haste if you have the mana, It can fly if need be, and for the heck of it Lets give it TRAMPLE! Way better than beef legendary.
