Enchantment
As ~ comes into play, choose two numbers that are consecutive integers.

As ~ comes into play, choose two positive numbers for which neither the absolute value of the difference nor the sum is greater than the number of cards in your hand.
All instances of the first number on spells and permanents you control are the second number instead.
At end of turn, if or the absolute value of the difference or the sum of the two numbers chosen is greater than the number of cards in your hand, remove ~ from the game, then return it to play under its owner's control.
That should be pretty balanced: the numbers can't be too big, nor can the changes be too changing, without forcing you to keep a big hand.

I disagree, jokalhaups. The entire point of the game is to balance the card with mana cost intact. Look at the title of the thread. "I have a 5/6 creature for 1 mana and no drawbacks. Can you balance this?" Just saying "Easy, make it cost 5U" is stupid and completely defeats the purpose of the game. Changing the cost from G to 3G and the ability's cost from G to (2/G) is also a no-go. Mana cost is the fundamental balancing force in Magic, and the point of this game is to find ways to circumvent that.
Note that the rest of the balancing measures are completely fine. Fixing templating issues is perfectly okay, and adding words is also fine as long as you don't remove or change any words already there.
I'll do two cards now so that I'm on-topic.
