Right at the deadline...Does he always cut it that close?
Edit: Judging by the time of this post, looks like it's over.

So what happens with posts like Zarquan's with two separate cards in it?
And yes, no incantatrix for you. Or anyone. That class makes puppies cry. Mostly because they are the former Big Bads who have been Baleful Polymorphed into said puppies. By you. Because you're an incantatrix.

Well... you'll have to wait a bit more tapper. I'm going out tonight. Although the judgings are basically finished already... Trust that they'll be up around tomorrow... I'll flip a coin on what to write up first... Heads= you and 'bad. Tails are the other two. I'll have the first pair done by tonight and the second will have to wait 'til morning.

Kraj, dude, I'm trying to say this in the nicest way possible, but do you really think that a card that is completely mind-bogglingly complicated under the rules, and, more likely than not, doesn't even -work-, really deserves a 9.5? Granted, as a long-time player, I think Shinyman's card is neat (if a little unworkable under the rules), but if Rosewater is apprehensive about printing the word "Stack" on a card, imagine "subtype" on one? That's not even taking into consideration the fact that this card will pretty much singlehandedly cause rules manager Mark Gottlieb to jump off a bridge. And, while it's obviously not as major of an issue, the typo in the flavor text really irks me.
Ultimately I'm only posting an objection because I -really- would get upset if I actually lost a round because of art. My objections to the scoring of art have already been well voiced.
In any case, even if you don't correct my opponnent's score, a second round place and a 20 there is at least vaguely respectable.

I don't find it any more mind-boggling than Humility effects and I don't see any reason why it can't actually work. If any rules guru would like to explain either way I'd be grateful; there's plenty of time to adjust the judgings if necessary.

Now that's a fair point, but I think "subtype" is much comprehensible as a concept than "the stack" is. 182 cards in the game reference "type"; if players can handle "basic land type" and "creature type", I think they can handle subtype.
Ultimately I'm only posting an objection because I -really- would get upset if I actually lost a round because of art. My objections to the scoring of art have already been well voiced.
I find it odd that with all the feedback I gave you, you'd choose to chalk your loss up to art. Art that didn't suck would have made a difference, but so would have improving any of the other things I mentioned.

The Golden Rule of forums: If you're going to be rude, be right. If you might be wrong, be polite.
"Loses all subtypes" is very, very easy. The only weird stuff that'll come up is with Auras and Equipment, and the reminder text reminds that they fall.
"Subtype" is easier for new players to grok than "stack", since "subtype" must be some sort of breakdown of the type. And look, a shiny emdash! Everything after that must be a subtype. The stack, though... yurgh.

After thinking on it a bit I agree with most of your points. However, I definately think that the lack of reminder text on the basic land types issue is a huge deal. Another point is the clunkiness of having Auras just sitting in play attached to nothing: it feels extremely clunky. Ultimately, my opponents card just absolutely doesn't seem like something that would be printed: Wizards just wouldn't make something so counterintuitive and clunky.
I'm looking more at "what the card does" than "what its ability does". What does his card do? It hoses lands in an extremely inelegant and counterintuitive way, it hoses auras in an extremely inelegant way (there is no way that having an aura in play attached to nothing is at all elegant), and I guess it removes creature types from things in play? The ability seems neat and flashy but ultimately when it comes down to what it -does-, it's neat, I guess, but it definitely doesn't seem like it's worthy of being a half-point away from perfect.

If people can understand licids, then that card is a cakewalk
They can't.
After all , ice cauldron took like 8 lines for what could have been done in 2 so wotc is hardly elegant
When did I ever say that Ice Cauldron was well-designed?
Holding up cards from over 10 years ago as how design works correctly now is extremely flawed.

For the record, an Equipment that is also a creature cannot equip anything. >_> The clam card was funny, but just doesn't work. Try Tribal Artifact--Clam Equipment.

I'm open to the possibility, but I have a huge pet peeve about claiming "rules nightmare" without providing any evidence to back up the claim.
