The darkness felt the pull from across all being, through the aether itself. It raked its claws across the void and lurched toward the coming tide
Brus struggled to find his footing as he corporeal body caught up to him on a brand new plane of existence. He focused his eyes on a sprawlingscape, stretching as far as he could see, and Brus could see very far.
It reminded him of Mercadia, a plane he had visited several times, but it was much older, much more diverse.
Waegen, his unwelcomed traveling companion pushed past him.
"What a dump,” she said. “I guess it’s better than that last place. I hope they like the Solar Devourer I cooked up for them.”
"I’m sure they did,” Brus mumbled. At least he’d left behind the Poisoned Battlefield technology. That should help somewhat with the new threats that Waegen, in her recklessness, left for the unfortunate inhabitants.
"Glad you made it,” came a voice from behind them. Both of the planeswalkers were so shocked that each of them grabbed the other’s arm instinctually.
They both stuttered apologies and looked at the source of the surprise.
"Sorry to startle you,” Coiloon Molbanni said. “That was excellent work you two did on Mirrodin. I knew I’d picked the right team. Now that Venser and Tezzeret are safe we can start to investigate the real problem.
"As you two have witnessed there is a plague spreading to planes across the multiverse that is snuffing out all goodness on worlds and leaving twisted, evil mockeries in their stead.”
"Right, right. We’ve heard this all before. Why don’t you tell us the problem so that we can actually do something about it?” Waegen said.
Brus found himself agreeing with the short-tempered elf for perhaps the first time.
Molbanni smiled at her. “Fair enough. This place is called Ravnica. This city you’re in, it’s the plane. This ancient metropolis spans this entire world.”
Brus took another look around him. It was dizzying to think that these ancient structures enveloped a whole planet.
"For eons this plane was protected by some unknown kind of magical ward that kept planeswalkers like us from intruding. Recently it has been broken. Good for us, bad for them. It seems this also allowed the plague in.
"The reason that you two are here is that we have reason to believe that there is a high-ranking member of one of the guilds that has information we need. They know who made the ward.”
"Guilds?”
"Oh yeah, the city is split into several guilds. We don’t have a lot of information, but we’ve narrowed it down to four possibilities. Apparently the person we are looking for has been here at some point, we know because protective wards like this one had until recently are sort of her trademark.
"We need you two go to these four guilds and find out all you can on Serra, Plainswalker.”
Sorry for the delay this round. I'm giving everyone that didn't submit critiques/t3 a freebee this round. You got lucky, punk.
Now that you know your points, let's get right into this round's challenge.
Team Brus Challenge
Pick one of the following guilds and the keyword that goes with it then create a multicolored (gold) card with flavor from dark/evil/twisted Ravnica. Azorius Consideration (This creature deals combat damage after creatures without consideration.) BorosPurity (This creature comes into play with a -1/-1 counter for each color of mana used to pay it's mana cost.) SelesnyaReclaim N (Whenever another creature comes into play, pay N. Otherwise, turn this creature face down. It becomes a 2/2 Plant creature and gains shroud until end of turn.)
Team Waegen Challenge
Pick one of the following guilds and the keyword that goes with it then create a multicolored (gold) card with flavor from dark/evil/twisted Ravnica. BorosPurity (This creature comes into play with a -1/-1 counter for each color of mana used to pay it's mana cost.) Selesnya Reclaim N (Whenever another creature comes into play, pay N. Otherwise, turn this creature face down. It becomes a 2/2 Plant creature and gains shroud until end of turn.) Gruul Pyre N (You may play this for its pyre cost if a (creature type) was put into your graveyard from play this turn.)
(Those keywords may or may not seem familiar to some ;).)
Critiques start at midnight (Eastern time) 12 Oct or when everyone's put up a card. Good luck!
Catalytic Taproot2GW
Creature-Dryad
Lands you control have Reclaim 0(Whenever another creature comes into play, pay 0 or turn this creature face down. It becomes a 2/2 Plant creature. It gains shroud until the end of turn.) The root never thought about anything other than growing in the ground until it grew a brain, legs, and weapons.
1/3
Selesnya giving in to the more primal side of plant life.
Note: Wasn't sure if the flipped plant gains shroud until the end of turn, or if it is the 2/2 plant until the end of turn.
Death-Blossom Thorns1GW
Enchantment {R}
Deathtouch Whenever a creature attacks you, Death-Blossom Thorns deals 1 damage to that creature unless its controller pays 1.
Revive 1(Whenever another creature comes into play, pay 1. Otherwise, turn Death-Blossom Thorns face down. It becomes a 2/2 Plant creature and gains shroud until end of turn.)
Whenever you pay Death-Blossom Thorns' revive cost, put a +1/+1 counter on it.
Skulk, err Revive could be easily changed to allow it to be used on permanents other than creatures. ie. Reclaim N (Whenever another creature comes into play, pay N. Otherwise, turn ~ face down. It becomes a 2/2 Plant creature and gains shroud until end of turn.) Gold card this time, eh.
Smash into Fragments(R/G)(R/G)
Tribal Instant - Giant
Pyre 1R(R/G)(You may play this for its pyre cost if a Giant card was put into your graveyard from play this turn.)
Destroy target artifact. If ~'s pyre cost was paid, deal damage to each creature equal to the destroyed artifact's converted mana cost.
Judge from the Senate1WU
Creature-Human Wizard
Shroud, Consideration
Whenever ~ deals combat damage to a creature remove that creature from the game. The Senate imparts it's judge's with every protection offered to them and trains them in a simple yet effective judging style. Learn why the suspect is a problem, the remove that problem.
1/4
Do the three keywords for Brus have a noncreature alternative? Or do we have to work with what we were given. Because right now, Weagon has it much easier.
Defender
Whenever Talionis Sentry is dealt combat damage, until end of turn Talionis Sentry becomes a copy of the source of that damage except for it's toughness and gains Consideration.
0/5 The Azorius line their halls with Simic-crafted sentries which adopt the form of those that strike it. That way perpetrators may feel precisely the pain they inflict.
- For those interested, Talionis comes from Lex Talionis: A method of justice better known as Eye for an Eye.
Razia, Corrupted Archangel4RRWW
Legendary Creature - Angel [E]
Razia, Corrupted Archangel is black, red and white.
Flying, vigilance, deathtouch, haste T: Razia, Corrupted Archangel deals 3 damage to target creature or player and 3 damage to target creature you control.
Purity (This creature comes into play with a -1/-1 counter for each color of mana used to pay it's mana cost.)
8/5
Entry I did regreat of:
I decided to imprint the "evilness" into the flavor/personality of the critter, instead of giving it a direct "evil quality". I hope to be understood.
Silverwing Frightener3
Creature - Human Knight C
Silverwing Frightener is red and white.
Purity
Flying 1RW: Silverwing Frightener deals 1 damage to each attacking or blocking creature without flying. They disown their culture, but being part of the Boros' Army is a good excuse to wound and punish under Razia's support.
2/3
So Doda, is the challenge finalized as of now or do you have one final twist (Mono versus multi, legendary versus nonlegendary, oh Champion versus Leader)?
Corrupt Bureaucrat WWU
Creature-Human Wizard
Consideration
Whenever a creature deals combat damage to ~, tap it. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step.
1/3 The lawmages, once upholders of the rights of Ravnicans, now exploit loopholes in the Guildpact to trap those they deem guilty.

No longer able to draw strength from victory, he draws power from his his horde's death.
3/3
Azorian Gatekeeper3WU
Creature-Gargoyle Spellshaper {U}
Flying 1WU,Q, Discard a card: Target creature becomes a 0/5 white and blue Gargoyle creature with consideration and defender. (This effect doesn't end at end of turn.) The Azorius, no longer able to trust the other Guilds since the unraveling of the Guildpact, had finally taken a proactive step in making the world inactive.
2/6
Hey doda with reclaim i'm a bit confused. Does it get flipped back up at the end of turn or does it just lose shroud. and could the flipped down creature type be whatever we want.
and also, could a card have a 0 casting cost or have a colorless casting cost and say something like(This card is red and green)? Like Evermind. Or (This creature’s colors are the colors of mana spent to play its casting cost).
With reclaim, turning a creature face down is a 1-way ticket. If you want the creature to flip back over, you have to specify how, ie: At the beginning of your upkeep, if ~ is face down you may pay X. If you do, turn ~ face up.
