Welcome to MtGS Design Idol. Inspired by a somewhat popular television show, we have done away with the judges and put this entire contest in the hands of the voters.
1: Have Fun!!! 2: Each round, except round 1 (signup round), will have a theme, and the contestants will design cards to match that theme. Early on the themes will be more open. In the later rounds, they will become more specific and challenging. 3. Players may submit a new, original card, or any card[s] they have created, so long as they are the players own original design and the card[s] meet the challenge requirements. 4: Each round will have 3-4 days to submit cards and 2 days to to vote for the cards. 5: Judging is only done by poll and the player[s] with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated. Polls will be anonymous and open to the general public. You may vote for as many, or as few cards as you like (including yourself if you want). 6: Any player that doesn't submit a card for any reason will be eliminated. It's harsh, but necessary to keep the game moving. 7: If a player submits a card or cards that does not meet the challenge requirements, that player may receive a DQ and be eliminated. If possible, the player in question will be notified to try and correct the problem before the end of the round. If the mistake is not corrected or is not caught until after the voting has begun, then the hosts will decide if a DQ will be assigned. 8: The game will continue until we have a single champion... our Design Idol. 9: The winner of the last Design Idol will earn a first round bye into the next game should he or she decide to defend his or her title (this means only one player).
This round the theme is: Me, myself and I. The Challenge:Pretend you've won the Magic Invitation. Submit your winners card that will become synonymous with your name for all time.
Notice: Due to some possible shenanigans with the poll voting, I need everyone to post a reply in the previous poll thread voting for one of our bottom eight, if you haven't already done so. (vote for the one you want to stay.) You may only vote for one, and if you are in the bottom eight, you may not vote for yourself. We will eliminate the player[s] with the least amount of votes.
Here are the bottom eight:
Kenaron
Glorious Gnome
Alabran
seratonin
.handslikeguns
DarkNightCavalier
Green Opal
BlackBull
Please, lets try and get this settled as quickly as possible.
Thoughtclimber :2mana::symu::symg:
Creature - Human Druid U
When Thoughtclimber comes into play, reveal the top card of your library. If that card has the highest converted mana cost among cards revealed this way, put it into your hand and repeat this process. Otherwise, shuffle it back into your library. (If two or more cards are tied for higher converted mana cost, shuffle the last revealed card back into your library.) "The bigger your ambitions are, the farther my mind travels." 2/2
Alquhian's VanguardWUBR
Creature-Human Shaman {R}
As long as you have 10 or less life than an opponent, you may play noncreature cards in your graveyard without paying their mana cost.
Whenever you play a noncreature card, remove it form the game instead of putting it in your graveyard.
4/4
Rotten Lifeforce :symb::symb::symg::symg:
Legendary Creature - Human Plant Zombie
Creatures you control get +1/+1 for each -1/-1 counter on Rotten Lifeforce.
Persist All take glee in his suffering — and he too is born anew, rotten flesh blooming with the stench of vine-bound blood hanging in the air.
3/3
The Archivist UU
Legendary Creature- Human Wizard (MR)
Cummulative upkeep U
Players can't draw cards.
At the beginning of each player's upkeep, that play may search his or her library for a creature card with converted mana cost equal to the number of age counters on ~ and put it into play. Then that player shuffles his or her library.
1/1 "The key to navigating a library is to know how it is organized."
To him,
Nothing has worth
Unless it belongs
To someone else.
It is not the lust for wealth
That drives him
Simply the hunter's thrill,
And the moment
Of acquisition.
Nothing is truly your own.
It is his –
Whether you know it or not.

The "P" in my name comes from a magicthegathering.com article in which they were contemplating adding a sixth color to Magic for Planar Chaos. here is a link to that article
Repentant Seraph4WWBB
Creature - Angel
Flying, vigilance, lifelink
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may return target creature card from your graveyard to play. "I will atone for my sins, though I know it be in vain."
5/5
I was going to make a Dwarf, but I thought that would have been too obvious...
Knight of Solstice4GW
Creature - Human Soldier
You may remove a white card and a green card in your hand from the game rather than pay Knight of Solstice’s cost.
First Strike, Vigilance, Trample
If was spent to play Knight of Solstice, it has haste.
3/3
I'm serious that this is what I'd submit if it really happened, but this isn't my card:
Admiral Ackbar3WW
Legendary Creature - Cephalid Rebel
Other Rebel creatures you control get +1/+2.
Sacrifice any number of creatures with power 30 or greater: Your life total becomes e^iπ . Only any opponent may play this ability. (A player whose life total is a complex number doesn't lose the game for having 0 or less life.) 4/4
For this contest though, I'll go with this:
Ramosian Instigator3R
Creature - Human Rebel {U}
Haste 5R,T: Search your library for a Rebel creature card with converted mana cost 5 or less and put it into play then shuffle your library. That creature gains haste until end of turn.
3/2
I encourage everyone to go ahead and submit a card even if you're on the bubble as it were. I'm waiting on one final PM from Aok, about the timestamp on the 0pc voter. That account was not used by any of the players, so depending on when the votes were cast, I may still consider them valid. In that case I'll go with the tiebreaker voting, but I'm still about 8 votes shy on the tiebreaker round. So if anyone hasn't placed their vote yet in the poll thread, please do so. Thanks.
Edit: Sorry, almost forgot. As far as the deadline goes, This round will close 12 Midnight Saturday 10/4 (When Saturday become Sunday. All times US Eastern. GMT -5)
Jester, Dragon Master 4BBRR
Legendary Creature - Human Warrior
When Jester, Dragon Master attacks, search your library for a Dragon creature with CMC equal to or less than Jester, Dragon Master's power and put it into play tapped and attacking.
7/7
The Invitational was an old school tourney held by Wizards that allowed a Pro Player to design a card if he won out against other Pros. We got Dark Confident, Rootwater Thief, Avalance Riders, and a handful of other cards, the most recent being Ranger of Eos. Chris Millar from Wizards did a satire on it.
Make a card that you'd want people to say, hey Such and Such made this. And it is AWESOME
Disciple of Clarity :1mana::symg::symu:
Creature - Elf Wizard
When Disciple of Clarity comes into play, choose a card type.
Whenever you play a spell of the chosen type, you may draw a card. (Lands aren’t spells.) “Guide the truth from falsehood. Create what cannot be imagined. Dream all that is possible.”
2/2
Illus. Adele Lorienne
Initially the submission was Alacar Leoricar, but WotC changed it to something less nuts but in the proper flavor
Life Trader 2BG
Creature - Human Shaman (R)
Pay 2 life: Add to your mana pool.
:1mana:: Add or to your mana pool. We all return to the ground. The real questions are how fast you want to return, and what you do before you get there?

"We must shake her limbs and rattle her brains." -Grandmother Sengir
Scholar of the Abyss :1mana::symu::symb: Creature - Zombie Wizard
At the beginning of your upkeep, discard a card at random. You may play that card without paying its mana cost.

Alright, based on the info I got back from A0K, I'm going to count all votes legit. That means the tiebreaker rules are in effect. Everybody that hasn't voted in the tiebreaker has until 10pm tomorrow EST when I'll tally the votes. Thanks for your patience.
Btw, the next poll will be as normal with anonymous voting. I'm hoping that this doesn't happen again, but if it does, I'll put up some options and we'll choose the best way to address the problem going forward.

Alright, the results of the tiebreaker are in. With 0 votes DarkNightCavalier and .handslikeguns are eliminated. Thanks for playing!! And thanks to Kenaron for keeping tally.
Is the poll going up any time soon? I have an overabundance of opinions and a shortage of people who care about them, and a poll on an Internet forum seems the perfect solution to this predicament.
