Just an idea. Trying to play around with just a good value creature; like a Ravenous Chupacabra that sacrifices raw killing power for more board presence after the ETB. A great limited card, but doesn't necessarily say "signpost uncommon" which means its probably just a value uncommon in a multicolored set.

Creature - Crocodile (Uncommon)
Menace
When Bog Predator enters the battlefield, you may have it fight target creature you don't control.

Menace is kinda dull. It's spammed a lot too for cards that probably shouldn't have it, as they're not high tier list.
First thing that comes to mind for me is regenerate. This makes a lot of sense from a flavor standpoint as alligators and crocs are notorious for surviving immense damage and maiming.
That would have great synergy with the fight mechanic, but also might want to employ and alternative activation cost (apart from mana) to help secure its utility on the turn you tap out to drop this.

Maybe something like "Sacrifice a creature, Bog Crocodile gains indestructible until end of turn. Tap it."
No...that's bad functionality...and doesn't make sense since it can't be secured that it's fighting in water (where that would make sense). Occasionally, they do get claimed by snakes like big boas and anacondas in the water.
I really wish I could recommend something like,
Untap a basic land you control: Regenerate Bog Predator. Activate this ability only once each turn.
You're best not to take advice from Reap. He likes to overly complicate cards and then say the reason they are broken or don't work is the fault of anyone other than himself up to and including Richard Garfield.

Overall its solid but maybe a little under costed to be an uncommon, since its almost guarantees card advantage when you cast it on curve and is evasive at the same time (Compare to Wicked Wolf for 4 mana and a rare). At 2BG this would be fine.
You could maybe do that regeneration effect I suggested if the croc entered the battlefield tapped. It begins kinda getting crowded at that point, and I'd still question if it fits the rarity level still.
There's a lot of creatures that fight on ETB, and a 3 cmc 3/3 that does it and also has evasion seems borderline standard playable to me. If something trends towards constructed they're more likely to bump rarity up, though they have been more generally ok with printing simple yet efficient effects at uncommon.
Anyways, this is a Flametongue Kavu which is always busted in limited. Very high pick as it gums up the ground while eating an evasive creature. Aggressive decks and control decks both want it, which is something I think helps to push it up to rare rather than uncommon in a Standard set.
On another note, I'd like to see some busted crocodiles printed. Sultai Croc-trol decks need a power boost.

It becomes a gateway for pump extensions.
