Whenever a land enters the battlefield under an opponent's control, if it wasn't the first land that entered the battlefield under their control this turn, you may search your library for a basic Plains card and put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle your library unless that opponent pays 2. "To journey that far requires our advisement."

I'm one the fence if this is good at 1W or needs to 1WW. If nothing else, the tax should definitely be 1 not 2. The biggest issue is really in Commander where that much ramp is way out of white's color pie and is especailly punishing if they are just trying to catch up after a slow start. I'd at least be more behind it for 2 CMC at GW instead of 1W, as Green can regularly ramp quickly.
Sorry, Flamewake Dragon didn't post the first time around. It should be on there now. It's essentially a colorshifted Eternal Dragon. I wanted Red to have a recurring threat and some mana fixing in its own color, and it makes for a decent reanimation target as well.
I agree that the white card is pushed; maybe I will lessen the tax.
I don't think it works as a straight shift to red, as the return to hand is definitely not a red ability. I could see a Phoenix with mountaincycling and an ability to put it onto the battlefield instead of the hand, but the repeated cycling is at best a huge bend in mono red. (note namewise, though, there's already a card called Flamewake Phoenix)

At the time, it was a bend it white as well. I think it's fine, as Phoenix cards can reanimate/etc. It seems a little awkward but I feel it is not a huge color pie break; and adds an interesting card to red without breaking the color pie. There are other red cards that mountaincycle, as well as being a Dragon, it fits.

That's the thing though, reanimation is a big bend in Red and only shows up on Phoenixes, so at the absolute least it should be a phoenix rather than a dragon. Further, none of those cards have utility from returning other than being cast, unlike Eternal Dragon which can create card advantage without even hitting the battlefield which is far more white than red.
I find it funny how the colors shifted from the very beginning. In the beginning returning to the battlefield without a drawback was exclusively a white ability. Black could but hurt you or the creature in some way. Now white is supposed the color that returns it to hand and red returns it to the battlefield. Although almost all the red cards that do it are phoenixes. I'm sure that was just a decision made because a phoenix is associated with fire. Red is fire. It's not really a red ability though.
The first card should tax you, not the opponent. I can see a game where both players get one out. If a player cracks a fetch or something of that nature then both players can empty their library of planes. If it's going to be a tax on the opponent then it should say when the second land is put into the battlefield.
