so I'm redesigning a bunch of cards from the reserved list and essentially making new versions of them. Here is a modern take on an old favorite of mine, City of Shadows.
Crypt of Shadows
Land - Swamp T, sacrifice a creature: Put a Storage counter on Crypt of Shadows. B, T: add B to your mana pool for each Storage counter on Crypt of Shadows.
The idea was that City of Shadows was originally a powerful card, but we have seen lands that can easily make it look weak in comparison. Ideally, I've added a bit more restrictions onto it for it to act as more of a functional land in today's MtG meta.
Another interesting card is Gate to Phyrexia. I think this could specifically work well if it was adjusted a bit. Although black doesn't deal with artifacts, this might be appropriate.
Honestly, it probably doesn't need to enter the battlefield tapped. Even without that text, this card doesn't generate mana for 2 turns and only starts accelerating 3 turns (and three creatures) later.
Went with both suggestions just to see how it looked.

It doesn't need to enter tapped. There are quite a few sac lands and none of them that I can think of enter tapped. This should be fine. It's slow so not like it entering untapped is back breaking to a game of magic.
