Soo i was thinking: Hey M19 did a nice thing on having old characters and old stories being told and made in new cards. How cool would it be to have other core sets situated in both original mirrodin and Mirrodin in war with new Phyrexia.
The main focus of the set would be historic cards, instead of putting lots of colorless artifacts, make more legendary creatures (and also do restrictive artifacts(colored artifact)
Gaze of the Watcher1U
Legendary Enchantment (MR)
Whenever one or more creatures attack you, put a Serum counter on Gaze of the Watcher.
Whenever you become the target of a spell, put a Serum counter on Gaze of the Watcher.
At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are 10 or more Serum counters on
Gaze of the Watcher , transform it.

Raksha, Kha of Taj-Nar2WW
Legendary Creature - Cat Warrior (MR)
At the beginning of your turn create a 1/1 white cat warrior token, then choose one:

-Other creatures you control gets +1/+1 until the end of turn.

Bosh, Addle Ur-Golen4R
Legendary Artifact Creature — Elder Golem (R)
Trample 1, tap X historic permanets: Bosh, Addler Ur-Golen gets +X/+X until the end of turn.
Whenever you cast a historic spell, Bosh deals 1 damage to up to one target.

(I know he probably isn't a Ur-golen, but would be cool if he was. The elder subtype is more like a pun/joke )
Bruenna, Survivor of Medev1U
Legendary Creature - Human Wizard (R)
Bruenna, Survivor of Medev can’t be blocked.
Whenever Bruenna deals combat damage to a player or planeswalker, each player reveals the top card of their library. If the top card of your library is historic you may put it into your hand. Each opponent that reveals a historic may pay 2 life. If they don't, exile the revealed card.

I like the idea of a plane-specific core set and the characters used here. Would you want to use Sagas in this? I think that makes sense given the number of well-known events associated with Mirrodin (the creation of Argentum, the Dawn of All Suns, the incursion of the Glistening Oil, the final victory of New Phyrexia...) and the historic term does specifically include them.
Memnarch is quite wordy (although I like the idea of him as a pseudo-Staff of Domination on a body) and Slobad's free-historic-cycling ability seems dangerous. Bruenna's life-pay clause feels unusual.

Ye totally needed some sagas (forgot about them when doing those))
To be truth i did the thread just to make a Memnarch addicted to the Blinkmoths ' serum (and maybe the ", the mad" can be dropped in some of those lines)
About Bruenna i was trying to make a saboteur/spy themed creature. I think it fits the colour pie (a bit) maybe it should have "put it into their graveyard" insted of straight exile clause. The life payment would be more to fit the agression and losses the character could do if left unchecked for years.
About Slobad, yes, that is a bit broken. But if i do it costing 1 it becomes way less interesting. If i rise its cost too much it becomes unplayable unless i rise its P/T (getting aways from the character). Maybe the best way to balance it is to make hin cost 2R instead of 1R but it would make the escalated CMC on the legendaries (not including Bruenna) be off. For balancing and keep on "flavor" i think the best way would be making hin cost R and have to t or pay 1 for loothing. But imo having the restriction of discarding a historic is enought to make hin "balanced" i know people would try to abuse hin as much as they try to abuse Experimental Frenzy and i think it is fine, either people try to dump lots of artifacts in the graveyard (prob eggs) and then use something to bring them all back or mill some good artifact and then Trash for Treasure. Risk, true.
For Sagas, how about sagas with 4 stages?

I really like the idea of a Mirrodin themed core set. That said, I'd probably just keep it at "artifact synergy" than "historic synergy."
Artifact synergy just seems way cleaner and simpler for a core set than historic. You'd need much less reminder text, and wouldn't have the confusing moment of newbies saying, "Wait, what's a saga?" Also, sagas in general I don't think are a good fit for a core set.
Also, a simple "artifacts matter" theme feels more intrinsically and purely Mirrodin.
Another reason why Mirridon works for a core set: the higher number of colorless cards means it's easier to draft (newbie friendly), and if a new casual player is just cracking packs from the core set, there's a higher percentage that he can fit any of those colorless cards into his kitchen table deck.
I actually don't think Sagas are too confusing or too complex for Core. The mechanic is at its heart really just a list of things to do in a certain order. The frame is unusual yet I think it makes Sagas pretty grokkable. I'd only keep counter manip away from the Core version as that is when interactions with putting on and removing the lore counters, and what that causes to trigger, gets confusing.
The main focus of the set would be historic cards, instead of putting lots of colorless artifacts, make more legendary creatures (and also do restrictive artifacts(colored artifact)
