Came up with this design today while looking at choice cards.
Traitor's Choice2UB
Sorcery
Choose two target creatures and/or planeswalkers controlled by a single opponent. That player sacrifices one of those permanents, then you gain control of the other. Which is harder: choosing the one who dies, or choosing the one who sticks the dagger in their back?

MTGS Wikia Article about "New World Order"
Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.
PSA to everyone who keeps forgetting about the Reserved List:
You're on a website dedicated to talking about MtG. You're only a few keystrokes away from finding out what cards are on the Reserved List. You're also only a few keystrokes away from finding out why some cards on the Reserved List got foil printings in FtV, as Judge promos, or whatnot, as well as why that won't happen again. Stop doing this.
This is the most powerful removal spell i have ever red in these forums.
Opponent loses two creatures (-2 board advantage) whule you get a creature (+1 board advantage), for a -1 from hand.
Its a 3 for 1 card, and and a 3 board for 1 at that.
It could also target the best walkers or creatures.

Target opponent loses his two best creatures or planeswalkers, and you get one of them. For four mana and a card.

MtG is where you can hate white players or black players, and still not be racist.
Yup. 8 mana is maybe too much, I could see it at 6 mana if you were to push it. Anyway, 4 mana is too little for Control Magic these days, so Control Magic + Hero's Downfall is just off the limits. There are similar designs if you really want to have it cost 4. For starters, you can let opponent choose permanents. Or you can do it "sac 2 or lose control on 1".
