Courier -- aether vial breaks this. Sure, that's not a GGPO combo, but aether vial-based decks are pretty decent on their own
Hmmmm.... that's a good point. Do you have any suggestion on the best way to rework it so Aether Vial doesn't break it?
Just make it an ETB trigger. Shave off a point of toughness (since the casting restriction accounts for the body as well), and have it say "When ~ enters the battlefield, if you have no cards in hand, draw 2 cards." This will lock the card draw to the empty hand instead of any old way that it enters the battlefield.
BlazingRagnarok's fix for Pyromancer's Courier works great. I sort of like the Ally type being used in that way; it's quite flavorful and in the right set I can see it as a "civilian assistant" class type without tribal baggage.
Apotropaic Veteran is quite odd - there's nothing wrong with it mechanically, although the ability costs are a bit pushed, but the life payment makes it feel quite old-school. This feels like a Mirage block card if not for the hexproof. Still pretty neat - if offbeat - flavor, though, and props for using a five-dollar word and building players' vocabularies.
Relic-Breaker Ninja is... undercosted? Maybe? Maybe not. Trygon Predator is a pretty cost-efficient design, after all, and ninjutsu is even more foolproof evasion than flying, though obviously more conditional. As-is I think it'd probably be fine in most hypothetical Standards, and certainly not do a lot in any Limited environment from a block not set on Mirrodin, but actually might make some Eternal format impact, much like the Trygon. So kudos.
Pyromancer's Courier = Maybe "When this enters the field, if you have no cards in hand, draw two cards. Otherwise, sacrifice this."
Veteran = Seems pretty cool but I don't think it needs hexproof since it's countering stuff already.
Relic-Breaker Ninja = I can get down with red ninjas... Maybe 1R mana cost so there's more incentive to ninjutsu it into play.

From a flavor perspective, I feel that this should only destroy artifacts controlled by the player it damaged.
It's not significantly different as long as you're playing 1v1, but feels a bit odd in games with >2 players.
